  1. HakNoob, St3v3, please email shop@hak5.org with your order # and MK5 serial number (located on the underside of the unit) and we'll get you sorted at no cost.
  2. You won't pay shipping and we will send a replacement if we haven't already. When Sara gets in a little later today I'll coordinate with her on this issue. It sounds like it is a ethernet hardware issue and we'll want the unit back to further investigate / make changes with the factory. I'm very sorry for the inconvenience. We stand by our product and vow to make this right. If you don't mind sending email to darren@hak5.org and shop@hak5.org with your order # I'd appreciate it.
  3. Can you outline the steps you've taken in detail so that I may attempt to repeat them on my end?
  4. Official power off procedure? Unplugging it works like a champ :) Faint red LED? Yeah, that does sound like a hardware failure as the software doesn't control the intensity of the bulb. Email shop@hak5.org with your order #. We'll get a replacement out asap. I'd like to get this unit back in for a little prodding. I'd really like to get to the bottom of this and take it up with the factory so please allow us to send a prepaid return mailer. If it is defective hardware I'd like it seen under the right light. Thanks and please accept my apology for the inconvenience.
  5. Are you still having issues? Have you tried a different ethernet cable? If you haven't already please reach out to shop@hak5.org. If it is an ethernet issue we'll want the unit back to investigate/send back to the factory/make changes to the line. Very sorry for the inconvenience. We'll make it right.
  6. Actually it's a bit easier than that. Follow the traces from these pads and see. That said this is absolutely 100% void warranty stuff. It's more or less a developer Easter egg so don't come crying if you let out the magic smoke or your genitalia falls off.
  7. I should probably point out that while back-feeding through the USP port to power the unit is a universally bad idea - you can however power the unit via USB (such as a laptop or power bank) with this cable: http://hakshop.myshopify.com/products/usb-power-cable
  8. Mantis, see your inbox. We have goods on the way.
  9. I'm very sorry for the poor experience. Have you contacted shop@hak5.org ? The forums are a great resource for learning and troubleshooting, however for customer service regarding a faulty unit please reach out to us directly. We will ship out new units with a pre-paid return mailer -- all we need is an email to shop@hak5.org with your order # and confirmation that the address on file is still accurate. I know this isn't ideal and I do apologize for the lack of communication. I have not been active on the forums as of late and take full personal responsibility for this issue. I hope to have it resolved swiftly and correctly. Please feel free to copy me, darren@hak5.org, on your correspondence as I pledge to make things right.
  10. Technically there is a way to directly interface with the Realtek from the PCB but it is not documented nor covered by any warranty. You're likely better off getting an Alfa if you intend on using a WiFi adapter with Kali.
  11. Mantis, I am very sorry for the inconvenience. Please reach out to shop@hak5.org - we'll ship you a new Micro SD card and Micro SD card reader ASAP. Regards, Darren
  12. One of the best parts of the cli - especially for infusions - and not something we really touched on well in the hangout is the ability to more easily automate functions with the DIP switches.
  13. This isn't one size fits all. It isn't like buying a bigger wifi antenna because we're interested in a huge swath of spectrum. Thankfully building them isn't difficult and we'll be showing that off soon.
  14. As it turns out I have a boat friend who showed me this exact system. It's really cool as it shows where boats have been, where they're heading and sometimes their payload. The Hak5 studio is right on the SF Bay with everything from yachts to oil tankers going by. I'm very eager to check this out. Please post links is anyone has resources for this. Thanks!
  15. Checked for the email, didn't see anything. If you're still having trouble and need any assistance with your purchase just drop us a line at shop@hak5.org - were here to please.
  16. Nextria, Sara from our HakShop will be in contact to work out a replacement. Stay tuned. Cheers!
  17. Well, you could use the RTL-SDR as a GPS receiver :D http://www.rtl-sdr.com/using-rtl-sdr-software-gps-receiver/
  18. Back in stock :) Thanks for all the support guys! http://hakshop.myshopify.com/products/software-defined-radio-holiday-promotion
  19. If for any reason you are having trouble with your pineapple juice please contact shop@hak5.org
  20. If you're having problems with a HakShop product please contact shop@hak5.org and we'll get it sorted ASAP. If your battery isn't charging we'll send you a replacement for free - it's that easy.
  21. Feeding the MK5 5v is like putting a 250 Watt power supply in a hard core gaming rig. Sure it'll boot and run Firefox, but launch Half Like 2 and expect a lockup. 9 or 12v is preferred for using the full potential of the MK5.
  22. I'm getting a consistent 7-10 Mbps with client mode with psk2. I haven't tested with other auths. It used to be much worse - like 2-3 Mbps but that's when I realized I had both APs on channel 11 (oops). Diversity is good. Over eth0 I'm getting 35-40 Mbps.
  23. If you're having PSU trouble, please contact us. shop@hak5.org. We'll replace the power adapter. Also include in the email your serial number. We're still under a 1% failure rate on the PSU but I'd like to see if we can nab the issue in our supply chain. Very sorry for the trouble!
  24. The charger that comes with the Pineapple Juice is meant to charge the battery. It does the bulk, absorption and float charging. Sorry it doesn't come with an adapter. We're looking into sourcing those. Here's more info on 3-phase charging: http://www.batterystuff.com/blog/3-stages-of-smart-chargers.html
  25. Interesting. I think I'm experiencing something similar but not sure it's exactly 9. I swore I've seen 10. Still, same concept. I need to look more into the wireless config and see if there are other reports of AR9331s with similar issues.
