  1. For some reason when I boot into Linux I get this error. It goes into some shell instead. Does anyone know what I should do?
  2. Hi, My nano was doing some weird items, and I decided to perform a factory reset. After I did the first reset and after creating the Admin/root accounts - my MacBook lost its internet. I did not make any network changes to the Nano. As a matter of fact, the tab only showed wlan1. So I decided to shut it down and after that point the device, after connected to power and my Mac, will no longer show me the admin page. The light is blue "blinky". Idea help would be appreciated.
  3. When connecting my nano to my windows machine, the led turns on for about 3 seconds and turns off. The GUI is unreachable at 172.16.42.1:1471. When trying Darren's recovery method where you set a static ip in the 192.168.1.X range, I reconnect the nano while holding the reset button and get a solid LED, but when going to 192.168.1.1 I am redirected to the Asus web management of my router instead of the recovery page. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks :)
  4. Hi guys, I bought a MK5 a few months ago and it worked like a charm ... it's been turned off for a while and today, when I tried to turn it on again, I got stuck in a boot loop ( green led fixed and blue blinking ). I tried the unbrick procedure described here more than once ( switch pins setup, upload factory.bin, switch pins back, reboot ) but when I try to reboot I get the same results ( of course I've waited more than 5 minutes for it to stop ). Any hints would be very appreciated as I really need this device working for my job.
  5. Is there any way to check whether my program is running with the help of dip switches ? Does it create a log file about what is happening with dip boot modes? I just want to make sure that my program code is working.
  6. What's up guys? Apparently I didn't think this completely through: I have Ubuntu installed on a 32GB SDHC card that I have installed on my Asus G75VW (currently rocking 8.1) and my idea was to use the SD card as the *third HDD on the system (I have both HDD bays used for Win 8.1..probably a mistake but I'll deal with that after the fact..working to SSD) SO when I go to hit ESC to try and boot to the SD card, I can only select between Windows, DVD drive, or only USB (when one is present). When I went to install Ubuntu on the card , I swore I installed GRUB, but it's not even recognizing the
  7. OK, so this is something of a continuation of this thread: https://forums.hak5.org/index.php?/topic/32535-wardrive/page-2?hl=kismet Since the topic changed a bit, and it's a little stale, I thought I'd start a new thread. Here goes: So, just as @barry99705 said, kismet_server will not run from one of the boot mode command lines or from the 'execute command' window under settings > advanced in the pinapple web interface, but if I SSH into the pineapple and issue the command, it works as expected. Here is my boot mode command: logger "Boot Mode 100 executing now..."; logger "Starting ki
  8. All, Got a MKV and had it running 1.0.4 - working fine for months, including most of today. Today after finishing some work on dnsspoof and /www/index.php, I turned her off and later back on. Now I get a solid green light, and a very faint red light and that's it. No ethernet link recognised so I don't have a workable LAN connection. Tried setting dips to U,D,D,U,U and U,U,U,U,D left to right per reflashing/recovery instructions to no avail. Tried multiple LAN cables, and both the USB and primary power supplies that came with the unit. There's definitely no LAN link. Any help appreciated!
  9. Over the past ~48 hours I've been trying to get my pineapple to work. I seem to be having a very unusual (read: undocumented) error with this device, with the symptoms below: - Firstly, it tends to boot into what I have termed 'derp mode' where it gets stuck in a boot loop. This is usually characterized by solid green and faint-ish blue and VERY faint red LEDs. - Secondly, I have managed to get the device to boot/operate for a limited time (more detail later). - I noticed that it would enter derp mode if I rebooted it (i.e. power cycled) immediately. If I let it wait for ~5-10 minutes, it w
  10. hey guys! Our 3 new laptops at my work (Lenovo T430) have a corporate pre-image on them using the GAG Graphical Boot Loader. Im 99% positive our corporate IT department will give me a 404 Error if I try asking for the password to access the pre-image file VIA the loader (Get the bad joke there? 404 Error Denial B) ) I did some reading and research, it looks like GAG actually can hide the pre-image files from viewing files within the ghosted image. My goal is to find the password file (I'm sure it'll be encrypted hopefully without Faults) and get into there to manage the pre-image myself (Lon
  11. Hi Guys, I'm seeking help and would like to have a discussion about booting Linux on Apple hardware using an EFI boot loader. Probably not going to be a popular suggestion considering one of your sponsors is System76 but I thought I'd give it a try regardless. I came across a great tool called "Mac Linux USB Loader" which is still under heavy development. "This is the Mac Linux USB Loader, a tool allowing you to take an ISO of a Linux distribution and make it boot using EFI." http://sevenbits.github.io/Mac-Linux-USB-Loader/ https://github.com/SevenBits/Mac-Linux-USB-Loader
  12. this may not come as news to most ppl on this forum but the Windows XP (and reportedly Win7) login password is easy to hack using a plain old boot disc. According to researchers the Offline NT Password & Registry Editor utility can be used to reset the password and Ophcrack can crack the pswd hash using large rainbow tables. Although I personally haven't seen similar utilities for Linux, I bet there's a slew of'em out there. Anyone know of any boot disc type tools for lost Linux pswds?
  13. Hello guys, I got a Pineapple MK2 and i flashed it with the MK3 software today. Now im wondering how to get Karma and DNS Spoof to run on start. found 2 topics with the same question but no answer: http://forums.hak5.org/index.php?/topic/12879-autostart-jasager-karma/?hl=%2Bkarma+%2Bon+%2Bboot http://forums.hak5.org/index.php?/topic/24519-auto-phishing-mark-3/?hl=%2Bkarma+%2Bon+%2Bboot
  14. Running fw 2.6.1 using a powered hub with a flashdrive. When booting with my Atheros AR9271 (Alfa AWUS036NHA) inserted all is good, pineapple detects it as wlan1 and internal as wlan0 When booting with my Ralink RT2501/RT2573 inserted, pineapple detects it as wlan0 and internal as wlan1. Why is the Ralink assigned as phy0 instead of the internal wlan Only when booting the pineapple without the Ralink and inserting it after boot it will detect as wlan1. dmesg output with both devices inserted:
