RogueHart
post what your screen resolution is. i've got mine set to 1280x800. my reasons gives more space than the other resolutions available to me. makes image editing easier. provides a larger looking screen so i can do more with the same space. and does anyone stiill use the default 800x600? i cant stand that. i hate the way it looks. Rab
800x600 isn't default unless you are a beneficiary of the one-laptop-per-child scheme. Most computers you grab on the high street come with a 19 inch widescreen, thus a default res of 1440x900. In terms of web design, you can assume people have 1024x768. Your content should be viewable in 800x600, but you will be forgiven if it looks shit. For gaming, most gamers use 1280x1024 (17") or 1680x1050 (20" wide). However, 24" monitors are becoming more popular, now that the latest cards can offer playable framerates at 1920x1200 - which has over 70% more pixels than the 1280x1024. I am currently using a Dell 24" and a Philips 17" off a BFG 8800GT. I mostly play EVE-Online and TF2.

Garda
8598x5772 OK. That's just being silly My laptop is always 1280x800 Don't LCD screens have only one suitable screen resolution? I have found that changing it to anything else makes things really ugly. It looks like anti-aliasing gone to shit. Except for some games though, I have found lower resolutions make it look a bit cooler actually.

Atari6502
Laptop 1280x800 Desktop 20" 1680x1050+ 19" 1280x1024 HTPC 1366x768 32" olevia I run all my lcd's at native res. I want a 28" next. 30" native res is way to high for me and 24" is the same as the 28" so why not go bigger. :)
