Screenshot from https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CEqC1piY3yY&t=1sWhat I want to know is, does anybody know about the capabilities of this device, what can it do, release date and of dose it differentiate from the wifi pineapple?

They featured squirrel in the title of a Hack across the planet episode, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fp4NSXO-7QE&t=360s.

Yes, I'll need to add it to my collection as well - but I still want to know what it is.

Nothing officially talked about(that I have seen) but check the hak5 YouTube channel, can get a glimpse of the logo in last 2 episodes.

Another tip I found at 6:40.   It's not an app, it's a device.

It says:
Be one of the first to...
upcoming Hak5 device...
The HakShop.com code...

By the way, what is this? It looks like a Lan Turtle, but with a wifi adapter. Besides, turtles don't have cable or "tail" ;) .

That's the incredibly-overpriced LAN Turtle 3G.

I'm pretty sure no where in this video does it say the packet squirrel is for a phone but hey you can think that.

@Just_a_User and I have also been doing some research and found the same stuff that all of you did. However, we also discovered, there is a domain name registered (with nothing on it: http://packetsquirrel.com) and we combed through the fcc site looking for the new device, but was not able to find it. I have bugged seb, mubix and darren on irc, but they are all keeping quiet for now...

The Packet Squirrel sounds like a small AP made to intercept packets, like a miniaturised PineAP. Could be a wired connection only though, however MITM sounds like wireless to me.
