  1. As long as it's really sma, and not rp-sma, then it will attach directly to the pineapple. No amp is needed, if you use an amp you'll probably go over wifi spec anyway.
  2. I have no reliable way to test it. I do know it's very directional, very much like a yagi, but without a meter, couldn't tell you the actual gain.
  3. You need to manually set your eth0 to 172.16.42.42 for your script to work. Also turn off any network managers, or you'll lose your connection later on when it does a dhcp renew. I still use the wp4.sh script. I don't really want to set up a testing wifi network at the moment, and my test network is completely seperated from my home network.
  4. Never really a fan of the pringles can, but soup cans, you know, real metal, work pretty well if you can find the right diameter. Somewhere around here I've got a cantenna made from an alcohol bottle christmas tin. It's a tad undersized, but works. http://www.turnpoint.net/wireless/cantennahowto.html

  6. You'll have to talk to apple about that. That's the whole point of the new system. To make stolen iPhones useless to the new "owner".
  7. More like 2004. I remember when this came out. Never did get around to seeing if I could duplicate it. http://pi1.informatik.uni-mannheim.de/filepool/presentations/0wned-by-an-ipod-hacking-by-firewire.pdf
  8. The yellow pineapple goes round and round, round and round! The yellow pineapple goes round and round, round and round! Come on and up-grade! So it starts everything over from scratch? Yep, clears the previously installed infusions.
  9. Ask Google's lawyers. They got fined for collecting shit that's just being transmitted in the clear. The pineapple is purpose built to do a man in the middle, which does fall under wiretapping laws. Doesn't matter if it's public wifi.
  10. One, you're not going to be "pentesting" starbucks wifi. On an actual pentest you're going to have a written contract from the company you're doing the pentest on, that will state what you can and can't do. No company in their right mind would allow you to spoof a public wifi network they don't own. If they do, it's still not going to cover your ass. Running a pineapple in a starbucks or any public wifi without the owner's, not the manager, the freaking owner's, written permission is illegal. You'll most likely be brought up on the state's wiretapping laws, and any other computer crimes laws the local DA can justify.
  11. Okay, let me throw this out there. What's the end goal of cranking up the power?
  12. Hahahahahahahaha!! I did not know that!
  13. They show up on fleabay every now and then.
  14. Might try resetting the pineapple back to factory, then installing the update infusions. I had some issues at first too, but for the most part it's straightened itself out. Now if we could get an auto start dns spoof checkbox.... ;)
  15. Have you done this in Mavericks? His tutorial is from a few os versions ago, and they've changed things.
  16. I used to hunt down rogues with a Zaurus running kismet, now I just use my phone and wifi analyzer. Some day Dragorn will get kismet running on android, that will be awesome.
  17. It took me a bit to figure out that I needed to change the functions.php as well as the large_tile.php files, but once I got that, I can bounce between my infusions as well as the included infusions.
  18. Adding infusions is a little different, but I like it! Added my Nedry infusion, and working on making a Pineapple Surprise one. Just need to adjust my thumbnail.png so it doesn't warp so bad.
  19. It says it takes 12 hours of sunlight to charge the battery, that's with nothing pulling power, so eventually it's going to die. Now if you could figure some way to switch between two of them, that might work. Charge one day, power with the other, then swap the next morning.
  20. It will create the log on it's own, at least mine does.
  21. I know for a fact the old CRT iMacs could take 5 DVDs before the 1st graders couldn't stuff any more in. I've also had to take them apart for this same reason, little bugger slid it in at an angle and it went above the drive.
  22. I'll pick one up once they're in the shop, and I have some extra cash.
