  1. No. You want something like this. http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00DMFB5OK/ref=mp_s_a_1_2?qid=1451320023&sr=8-2π=SY200_QL40&keywords=powered+usb+cable&dpPl=1&dpID=41bRafBW5cL&ref=plSrch You want to try to keep your antenna connection as short as possible. This way your antenna is directly attached. You can make an enclosure out of white pic pipe with a cap on the end. Just get a piece that is big enough in diameter to fit the alfa. Glue the cap on one end and get a screw type fitting for the other end. Drill a hole in the screw plug big enough to fit the usb end through and seal it back up with some silicone. Then you can attach this to your roof wherever and run the usb back to your computer. The usb has nothing to do with signal. It has a length limit, that's why we have to get one with a repeater (1 port hub) built in.
  2. Amazon has them. http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B003MQO96U/ref=mp_s_a_1_2?qid=1451318299&sr=8-2π=SY200_QL40&keywords=usb+to+m+barrel&dpPl=1&dpID=41sIpBv4TXL&ref=plSrch Should be the right one.
  3. Putty for windows. Then ssh to 172.16.42.1 from the laptop while connected to freekittens. From there see if you can ping 8.8.8.8.
  4. The best way to do this would be to mount the alfa outside in a weatherproof container, and use a powered usb extension cable.
  5. The only issues you'll have is with internet connection sharing, but that's a known Mac problem, not a pineapple problem. There are ways around it.
  6. I believe this is his windows host machine. The two vmware adapters are the default adapters vmware installs. Somehow he killed his physical adapter. What I'd try is go into device manager and delete the network card, then reboot. Windows should do a device detection check and reinstall the network adapter.
  7. I was, uhh, in a movie theater... Just wanted to see how many ssid's it would pick up. Next time I'll keep it in an outside pocket.
  8. I found that if you have the tactical kit in your inside jacket pocket it will get hot enough to lock up the pineapple... Isn't really a heavy jacket either, more of a windbreaker.
  9. Some day when they're not at home, open up the router and desolder the reset button. Cool script though.
  10. That will only work if you have access to the other side of the cable, and have power close by for the power brick. This won't work with a poe switch by itself.
  11. Nope. USB on the MKV is for connecting devices to it, not for connecting it to computers. Running power into the usb port could break the pineapple.
  12. The Kali VM will get it's internet from it's built in vmware ethernet(eth0) connection to the Mac. When you plug the pineapple into your Mac, from vmware tell it to take over the usb connection. This will add a second ethernet to Kali(eth1), from there run the wp6 script, but change the script so it sets up the pineapplewan to eth0, and the pineapplelan is eth1. That should get you going.
  13. Yep, though you'll need a proper cable, the one that comes with the kit is power only.
  14. You can use a yagi on both ends of a long range link. You may have gotten the wrong adapter. I've had that happen with another vendor before, wrong part got put in the wrong bin and when they grabbed a handful of parts, one was wrong.
  15. I know on my laptop when I connect the nano I will lose internet connectivity because a wired connection takes precedence over a wireless connection. I haven't been able to figure out how to stop this action though.
  16. Umm, how are you powering it? Might need to reset it back to stock. Not sure what you want to do with a male male usb cable, but it's not going to do anything for you.
  17. What's the -a supposed to do? On my laptop I get the same information with both.
  18. Yea, the cable that comes with the juice is power only I believe.
  19. I tried that too. I could ssh into most devices, but couldn't get the internet sharing to work. Was funny though.
  20. If your wifi adapter has the pin too, then you need one of these. http://www.amazon.com/coaxial-coax-adapter-female-RP-SMA/dp/B00CVQ3XLY/ref=sr_1_13?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1451060125&sr=1-13&keywords=sma+female
  21. You can run it without the third radio, but it will limit the client's connection speed.
  22. You connect the third adapter to your upstream wifi, leave the built in radios to do their thing.
  23. Yes, you can add a usb wifi adapter to the nano, was playing with this last night.
