  1. Good afternoon, I am working on a project to see if it is possible to record the mac addresses that appear in the recon mode or devices that connect to the wifi pineapple network. Is this possible? if so please let me to the right direction to perform this solution. Thanks,
  2. My WiFi pineapple won't connect to the internet when set up the way it's detailed in the windows 10 setup video. I've already looked at these threads: https://forums.hak5.org/topic/37142-questions-about-wp6sh/ https://forums.hak5.org/topic/37387-nano-refusing-to-connect-to-internet/ and downloaded wp6.sh, but when I try to execute it, it says permission denied. It originally downloaded to /root/, but when it wouldn't work I moved it to /bin/ and it still wouldn't work. In addition, when I try to get modules or bulletins on the pineapple it doesn't work. The only way I can get it to connect is by using client mode, which interferes with PineAP since it only lets me use wlan1. How can I get the USB ethernet function working?

Hi All, I got my WiFi pineapple nano a few days ago and I'm playing around with it and learning how to use it, I have inserted an 8gb sd card to install modules on, i have installed the deauth module from the pineapple modules page for the nano, it was successfully installed but when installing the dependencies the red bar goes to Orange "Installing dependencies" then goes back to red like its not installed, before i ssh into it to see whats going on with the install i thought i might ask as it may be something you guys have seen before. What trouble shooting techniques are there for this issue?

Hi All, Just a quick question regarding the WiFi pineapple NANO, I was going to test client mode on the pineapple but when inserting the usb WiFi adapter that comes with the pineapple it turns out it doesn’t work, it’s not to much of an issue I used another WiFi adapter whiched worked, are there drivers I need to install to get the WiFi adapter that Hak5 supplied working with the pineapple.

It wasn't the primary reason for me getting a Nano Pineapple, but as I do a lot of travelling I thought would be good to use the Nano to share the internet connection in the hotel and also be able to use my ChromeCast. After spending a good few hours trying to configure this at home I kept getting intermittent results, and got very frustrated for something I thought was straight forward! 1) Set and confirmed filters for client and SSID 2) Connected to existing home router on Nano showed connected, but sometimes didn't update the Default Gateway on the Nano. Very intermitant internet connectivity on the Nano, I tried to load bulletin/updates and it rarely worked. Eventhough other devices connected directly to the home router are fine. 3) Even when I did manage to have the Nano connected to the home router clients connected to the Nanao could not get internet. Can anybody help me at all please. And just to confirm, do I need to use PineAP for this solution to work? Thanks

  12. The Pineapple Stand Project This is a project I would like help on if I'm being honest more like a need help on. Please excuse any grammatical or spelling errors. Grammar and spelling are not my best area and I am only 14. A bit of background: I got the WIFI adapter sold from the hak5 shop and it works great for a person or two, but I needed something faster. So, I started watching some hak5 videos and saw WIFI adapters were amazing. The hak5 videos that got me thinking if you could do that with a wifi adapter not built for hacking what could you do with one that was. I began to have the seedlings of an idea to use the pineapple for this purpose. Then I saw the wifi cactus (for those of you that don't know what it is here are a few links https://blog.adafruit.com/2017/08/02/wificactus-when-you-need-to-know-about-hackers-wearablewednesday/ and https://youtu.be/fX_XH-09YeQ) and the idea crystalized to use a pineapple as a wifi adapter that you could control with the web interface. Sounds crazy right until you consider that basically what the wifi pineapple is already (I mean no offense hak5 I know that that is an oversimplification seriously love you guys) the wifi part is obvious but the adapter is not so obvious the adapter is the web interface more specifically when the web interface sends something to the pineapple then the pineapple changes that into something that it can recognize then sends it to the controller inside of the pineapple which is the traditional adapter being controlled by the web interface and the pineapple is sending information to the web interface is the second part of the wifi adapter. Then I remembered how this idea started which is how the idea of hoking pineapples together and controlling one pineapple with another and having them be able to exchange data (also in part due to the wifi cactus). This is what I want. Basically, for the Tetra I want to hook two of them up together through the eth0 port to the eth0 port but have one of them to give internet connection to the other. More than that, however, I want to be able to control the one wifi pineapple with the other making it into a wifi adapter and have both of them working together. Now before you click off because you don't have 2 wifi pineapple tetra this should work whether it be the tetra with a nano plugged into it, a nano plugged into a nano or a tetra to a tetra. (with some minor deviations). Now that that's all out of the way let's get to how you could do this. For simplicity, I will be referring to the pineapple that that controls the other pineapple as the host and the other pineapple as the tether. Idea 1: My first idea was to use client mode on one pineapple to connect to the management SSID on the other pineapple. This would, in theory, allow me to control both pineapples while I was connected to one wifi network. The first problem with this was that you have to browse to the same web address to control both pineapples because of the addresses being the same and that the request would have to go to the first pineapple to get to the second the request wouldn't make it. The solution was to change the web address you need to browse to for the second pineapple. Pretty simple. This still did not achieve the end result I was hoping for. For one I could not use PineAP and get a real wifi connection. I considered this a start it showed that is was possible to control 2 wifi pineapples with one internet connection. Breaking down my first idea and why it was only a partial success. My first idea was only a partial success because I could not use PineAP and get a real wifi connection the reason I could not use PineAp and get a real internet connection was that one wan1 being used for client mode to connect to the management SSID of the other pineapple and in order for me to get a real internet connection without using the eth ports I would need the wan1 of the other pineapple leaving no wan1 open for PineAP. Using the one wan1 is unavoidable because you need it for client mode the tether has to do this if you want real internet. But in order to fix the problem, we need to find a way to eliminate the need for the other wan1 that is being used to connect to the management SSID. The potential solution I came up with is to is to connect the 2 pineapples tetras eth0 to eth0 port. This would, in theory, remove the need for the other wan1. The problem is the pineapples eth0 ports are configured to be inputs and I need one to be an output (the tether) and the other to be an input (the host) in order for this to work. So if one of you that is better at coding then I am can figure out a solution to this problem please share it with me. Or if this is not possible please share that with me. If there is another way to do this, please share that with me. Assuming that there is a solution to that problem. I would like to develop a module for this actually 2 modules one for the host and one for the tether and Host would appreciate if anyone wanted to help develop the modules, in other words, have to code the modules while I fail at helping you code (I am a little past hello world in java but can copy and past with the best of them :) and tell you what I think it should do. Please contact me alexriniker5510@gmail.com if you have any ideas, suggestions, want to help, want to crush my dreams and tell me it's not possible, or ideally want to do this entire project for me ; ). PS. the bootup loop in my case was caused by a short in the pineapple that meant that it was not getting enough power, so it could get through the first part of the bootup but when it came to turning on the wifi which sucked away the little power it was running on, to begin with making it shut down then attempt to boot up again. I was able to figure this out by pumping more and more electricity into it until I was able to see the short I would not recommend this for attempting to find the short however because I was lucky, and it was a fairly large short but there's a fine line between enough electricity to see the short and enough to permanently damage the circuits in the pineapple. I felt obligated to you guy to find the causes of the bootup loop after you sent me another wifi pineapple. sincerely, Alex
  13. I received a wifi pineapple nano as a Christmas gift and have yet to get any use out of it. I continually have issues restoring the firmware, IP address drops, can't access internet on host, etc. So... I finally got the firmware to load, 2.0.2, and can access the web panel on 172.16.42.1. However I cannot load modules or wifi bullets, nor access the internet from my computer. I did install wp6,sh appropriately. Here is my setup: Mac OS X running VMWare Fusion I have internet on my Mac, but not on Kali or pineapple.   14. Hi All, I am new to the Tetra, however after reading numerous posts and watching the videos, I cannot get internet access on my tetra when connected to my windows 10 laptop. I have attached screenshots of the set up as per other posts and the IP from the cmd prompt, but I still do not have access. I don't know if this is a windows 10 issue, but after following the instructions to set static ip, it made it an unidentified network. This is where I believe the issue is and once this is able to be resolved my issues will be fixed. My question is, if I connect a LAN cable into the port on the tetra, should it connect via the router or would additional settings be required as the tetra is on 172.x.x.x network whereas my router is giving out 192.x.x.x IPs? I am really stumped as to what to do and I feel its something small that I have missed. I am going to try another laptop tomorrow, however, any gurus out there who could shed some light on this would be greatly appreciated.
  15. Hey. I got this WiFi Pineapple-NANO for christmas and I'm trying to get it set up correctly..I plugged it in, followed the instructions and started to update the firmware, the blue light didn't start blinking at all as I pressed upgrade, so I decided to unplug it and try again. Now when i plug it into my computer it blinks once, turns solid blue for about 3-4 seconds and then the light goes out. I have tried to follow the instructions on https://www.wifipineapple.com/pages/faq for firmware reset without luck. But I do realize I might be doing something wrong, as I simply go to my routers control panel as I browse to 192.168.1.1 I do have 'Bus 001 Device 018: ID 0b95:772a ASIX Electronics Corp. AX88772A Fast Ethernet' under lsusb so I know its recognized, but as far as I can tell it only recognizes it if I'm NOT holding down the reset buttom as i plug it in. Can anyone please tell me where I go from here?

Everything is now up and running brilliant my old phone using as the test device I had connected and as I was doing app updates.on it I could see the request packets and images etc on one of the modules (name has slipped my mind) but once I had this how would I save them for future use to say show a client etc ?
  17. Looking for a little help with setting up my wifi pineapple nano I just got today. I am using a macbook pro (host) with Kali (VBox) and Kali (VMware). I initially started the setup of my pineapple on my mac using firefox and make it all the way to making the AP and assigned passwords. However, somewhere along the way I did something that has seemed to brick my pineapple. I have tried to reset the pineapple at least a dozen times, using the same method each time, from multiple websites, inside my mac os and Kali - VBox and VMware. When I plug in my pineapple, it blinks very rapidly. 1. unplugged pineapple 2. held down reset button --> plugged in pineapple using the usb eth to usb 3. released the reset button after 10 sec 4. used lsusb to ensure Kali was reading the pineapple as a usb 5. ifconfig and found pineapple on eth2, however mac address was different than what was on the bottom??? 6. ifconfig eth2 192.168.1.2 netmask 255.255.255.0 up --> ifconfig to verify the change ---here is where the problems begin--- #pineapple would drop its ip address of 192.168.1.2. It would only show the ipv6 7. entered 192.168.1.1 into firefox and would SOMETIMES get the firmware update page. 8. would load the firmware 'upgrade-2.0.1.bin', pineapple would flash rapidly 9. change the ip address back to 172.16.42.42, 'ifconfig eth2 172.16.42.42 netmask 255.255.255.0 up' 10. entered 172.16.42.1:1472 into firefox browser and would get a "firefox can't establish a connection at 172.16.42.42' Any help would be much appreciated.   18. I dont get it.... Do I have to install meterpreter directly on the wifi pineapple or on another machine? #ssh Would be no problem, would have enen Raspberry Pi, on the Metasploit runs. But every time I enter on the API of the Pineapple Meterpreter Module the login data of my "Home Network-Raspberry Pi" nothing happens at all!

  20. Seb et al, I had my nano working great on my Samsung Note 4. Stopped working with it for maybe a year and during that time, I updated my phone to Samsung Galaxy 8 Edge. I downloaded the (most recent) wifi pineapple app from the Play Store. Followed the directions to connect and I am stuck at "Waiting for connection; Waiting for wifi pineapple to make a connection" USB tethering is on in my settings, I'm using the y cable to attach to power supply (blue light is on), they just aren't shaking hands. What can I do?

Hey guys This morning I received my Wifi Pineapple Nano Tactical Elite and set it up using this tutorial - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nv1eiIwOPKo Everything works fine, except for one thing. I set up an open access point called "Wifi123", then connected to it on my phone. The dashboard displays 1 client connected, but my phone doesn't get any connection. I tried to connect to the access point on 2 other devices and none of them got any connection. Any help with giving the access point internet would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

With the release of the Bash Bunny have there been talks to develop Pineapple Core, a payload for the bunny to link it to the Pineapple to handle more demanding jobs and make jobs that were not possible before possible like bettercap. What I wonder is will this also mean that you can in the future plug a pineapple into a computer thats running Kali to add even better performance or will pineapple Core be locked to the bunny only?
  25. What's up everybody, I'm having some issues. I just got a new wifi pineapple nano tactical and it's not being detected by Kali. It powers on, flickers a little before becoming solid blue. I followed the tutorial exactly as show and still no results. I issued a iwconfig, dmesg, lsusb and nothing is listed. Just to eliminate all possibilities, I used another wireless usb and it registered ASAP. Just wondering if the device may be defective or if there's something that I'm not accounting for. Please help! I'm teaching myself about pen testing and cyber security in general, even installed Snort on my ubuntu machine and have been fun with that. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
