Does the build your own pineapple still exist?
Darren Kitchen replied to overwraith's topic in WiFi Pineapple Mark V
We have all of the stuff separate but the builder is gone. The shop plugin was more trouble than it was worth. You can always hit us up if you need something special :) -

Nearly every modern modem I've tested since visiting this last supports cdc_ether or RNDIS. There are still some funky ones out there, but it's becoming more rare when it comes to carrier sold modems. We're in the same boat as every other openwrt (or Linux for that matter) project. My advise, get one that supports tethering. Sure the serial based ones on the supported list work - but why do the heavy lifting of managing a complex mobile broadband connection on the pineapple side when the newer modems manage themselves. My favorite right now is the Huawei E355. It enumerates at eth1 and "just works "

Ish... Some php-fu should be able to determine the domain queried and forward on to an adequate landing page. I haven't tried it myself but knowing nodogsplash, the data required should be there somewhere.

It is flashed at the factory and a series of tests are run to verify the installation and proper function of all major components.

Sure. You can change the SSH config to listen on a different port. Have you watched the video series on SSH and setting up a relay specifically?

Put the Pineapple is wired client mode then simply connect their Ethernet interfaces. Your pirate box should assign the MK5 an IP from DHCP.- 2 replies

Both NHA and NH are supported. See http://wiki2.wifipineapple.com/#!compatible_wifi_cards.md I prefer the NHA myself but they're both great NICs.

Prior to firmware version 2.1 you would connect to the open Pineapple5_xxxx AP. Post firmware 2.1 you will be guided through the setup of a WPA2 secured management AP. -

Back to basics - Get Clients to connect to Pineapple
Darren Kitchen replied to pabo2uk's topic in WiFi Pineapple Mark V
The latest firmware includes a lot of help when it comes to the different modules of PineAP. It's a very effective suite and I recommend you give it a shot. Click on the question marks next to each module for more information. -
Open Access Point vs. Secure Access Point
Darren Kitchen replied to pabo2uk's topic in WiFi Pineapple Mark V
We noticed a lot of people manage their WiFi Pineapples over WiFi rather than Ethernet. It is quote convenient, however open WiFi is usually a bad idea (irony anyone?). To facilitate secure management of your WiFi Pineapple over WiFi, we've included a WPA2 interface by default. You're welcome to turn it off from /etc/config/wireless if you wish. -

Pineapple did not come through customs (germany)
Darren Kitchen replied to italogermano's topic in WiFi Pineapple Mark V
italogermano, We're going to make this right. As Seb has pointed out, the MK5 is totally legal. We have the Declaration of Conformity here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B1kHHuoTR841T0hpbHYzYk1MUlUzVExHbDBLNFdteEZYRGln/view?usp=sharing I'm making changes to our shipping process to ensure this doesn't happen again. If you would be so kind as to email shop@hak5.org as well as myself, darren@hak5.org, with the order number, we're going to expedite a replacement MK5 along with the necessary documentation to you via DHL. If all goes well you should have it by the end of the week. Regards, Darren -
[Release] 2.1.1 - Codename: Pineosauria Mobilus

Walk us through exactly what happened. How did you update (SSH, OTA?), what happened after flashing? Did you get to the welcome screen / initialization wizard? Do you receive an amber light with Ethernet plugged in? Have you tried the recovery DIP switch configuration?
