  1. Josh Wright already has something like this. http://neighbor.willhackforsushi.com/
  2. You sure it's not something you have installed that's causing it? I run kali as my work laptop, and have another kali install on my main home laptop, I also have a debian wheezy desktop and laptop at home. None of them throw, or have ever thrown repo errors during an update.
  3. No, because for the next 365 days any time you're on the internet with that dongle it can be traced.
  4. My "bricking" definition comes from the good old days of flashing linux to the compaq iPaq. There was no undo! If you borked it, it was literally a brick.
  5. I figured you knew, but I saw a post around here from someone who did that, just putting the info out there again. :D
  6. Some EnGenius wireless products have Administrator:admin, admin:admin, login:admin, and manager:admin for ssh access hard coded in. Found this out running a scan of my home network and a couple of my client's networks. This is on the latest firmware.
  7. I've never had an issue with the kali repos being down.
  8. Do not, repeat DO NOT!!!! Try to hook that cable to a pineapple juice and power it through the usb port on the pineapple.
  9. That's a good question, someone should change that. [cough]seb[/cough] ;)
  10. OsX is Unix, not linux. There is a difference! Linux on macs can be ungodly frustrating to set up.
  11. There's no such thing as "unbricking". It's either bricked, or it's temporarily broken. As to the OP. http://www.staples.com/Kingston-G2-USB-20-microSDHC-Flash-Memory-Card-Reader-FCR-MRG2/product_651710 http://www.bestbuy.com/site/high-performance-16-gb-microsd-high-capacity-microsdhc/1308397120.p;jsessionid=A3D41001C2B71286A548277DCE57F3EE.bbolsp-app02-156?id=mp1308397120&skuId=1308397120&st=micro%20sd%20card%20reader&cp=1&lp=5#tab=buyingOptions They're cheap, and come in handy.
  12. Follow the steps. The bootloader is different from the os, it will work.
  13. You ran through the recovery steps on page 18 of the manual?
  14. Depending on where you put it, just plug it into the wall.
  15. Windchill only affects wet/living objects, so don't worry about that part of the temperature issue. It's solid state, so you don't have to worry about bearings freezing, like a computer, which will crap out at around -20F, at least that's where mine did. I've run D-Link web cams outside to -50F with no issues, so the pineapple should work just fine. Throw it in a sealed case with a pack of desiccant so you don't get condensation and it should be good to go. Forgot about the battery, that's not going to like the cold. It probably won't work at the temps you're talking about. I had to keep photo-lithium AA's in my mini-mag light for flight line work because normal AA's didn't work after -20F.
  16. Just pull the plug. Unless you're logging data to the card, it's not going to hurt it, even then you'll just lose the last bit of data in the log. The cards that come with the pineapple probably aren't the highest quality, most folks replace them with larger capacity cards anyway.
  17. You'd need a really strong magnet to mess with the iron in your blood. Something like a large star would do it. Also as long as you don't put an amp on the yagi, the pineapple doesn't have enough power to really hurt you.
  18. Uhh, it's free, unless you're running the enterprise version.
  19. Hey Frank. Darren is actually using Ubuntu SDR on the latest episode! Just started watching it on my phone and was like "holy shit!"
  20. I've never seen an helix omni antenna. They're usually very directional.
  21. Make sure you don't upgrade the kernel.
  22. So installing a windows app in linux will be any easier??!! TN.Frank is going to have to learn how to compile applications in linux eventually. May as well do it now. These sdr apps are stupidly simple, with only a few dependency issues.
  23. You're not going to find any distro with every application on it. Half of the sdr applications out there didn't exist 6 months ago.
