cooper Posted January 31, 2007 Posted January 31, 2007 We've had this question countless times, so I'm glad Vako moved it here. Very appropriate. For me, music to do basically anything to is music that is up-tempo, and doesn't contain much to get my attention. Lyrics that I want to sing along to or some nifty riff that really gets me going are real no-no's. It should be background filler. The up-tempo bit is to basically set the pace. The more vicious the pace, the faster I go. So, basically, for me that means Grindcore. Lots and lots of Grindcore. Leng Tch'E, Aborted, Nasum, stuff like that. Don't venture into Excrementory Grindfuckers territory, as they parody known songs by doing a grindcore version of them. You'll first get distracted by the bit of original song, and then die laughing as they do the remaining 3:20 of the song in under 15 seconds flat. Quote
Deveant Posted February 1, 2007 Posted February 1, 2007 hmm for me it would have to be benny hill anthem on repeat... Quote
psychoaliendog Posted February 1, 2007 Posted February 1, 2007 Well, lets see. Avenged Seven Fold Rammstein Panic! at the Disco Mozart, Requiem in D minor (k626) Coheed and Cambria Mindless Self Indulgence My Chemical Romance Nonpoint System of a Down Korn I could go on. Quote

jarrydn Posted March 4, 2007 Posted March 4, 2007 Don't venture into Excrementory Grindfuckers territory, as they parody known songs by doing a grindcore version of them. You'll first get distracted by the bit of original song, and then die laughing as they do the remaining 3:20 of the song in under 15 seconds flat. "Unnnngrind my heaaaaaart" Possibly one of the best grind parody tracks ever. And that it sounds like Peter Steel from Type-O-Negative singing is even better :P. But yeah, I pretty much hack to what Cooper hacks to. Nasum, Aborted, Goratory, Necrophagist etc. Brutal death metal and grind is where it's at ;D Sometimes I shake things up and go with some DnB, or some IDM, or even some hardcore gangsta rap. I'm down with Ice Cube. Quote
Swanny14 Posted March 8, 2007 Posted March 8, 2007 Strangely enough, I listen to a lot of mellow/classic rock. Things like John Denver and Plain White T's are good for me. It keeps me concentrated Quote
Nanob0t Posted March 8, 2007 Posted March 8, 2007 I go and drag music off of games like Tiberian Sun and listen to it while I work. It's made to be background music when you play games and such, so it works the same for my work. It's fast paced too, so it gets you running faster. Other than that it's Melodic Metal for me I just use open shareware to get my music; however I am getting into pandora stuff, because most of the music I want doesn't get to the US without special orders. Quote
Databass Posted March 13, 2007 Posted March 13, 2007 The only thing worth listening to anymore is Venetian Snares. Very uptempo sometimes breakcore sometimes orchestral. Microtonal scaling systems and the most evil detuned tones... as well as the most intricate sequences I have ever heard. This guy will glitch yer face furthur than you'd like to imagine... I really hope someone goes and finds some stuff and listens, Itll blow your mind like your first blast of DeeMsTer. fer sher. Quote
jarrydn Posted April 10, 2007 Posted April 10, 2007 Venetian Snares blows my mind. I love glitch, micro, breakcore, idm etc. Quote

TrinitronX Posted May 8, 2007 Posted May 8, 2007 For me, Nerdcore, techno, trance, and trip-hop are all great for coding. I just put amarok on a dynamic playlist and listen to whatever comes up most of the time... skipping some songs if it doesn't pick good ones. http://www.last.fm/user/trinitronx/ Quote
