  1. Venetian Snares blows my mind. I love glitch, micro, breakcore, idm etc.
  2. pringles, pizza, maccas...the usual hacker junk. Luckily, I don't own a car, so my over-indulgence is augmented by me having to walk everywhere :P

  5. My desktop computer speakers can pick up an incoming call, so I think it might have more to do with the amplifier...

Hahaha, cheers for the amiga porn. I could only wish that my A500 had a 40 meg hard drive and 3 megs of ram :P

    Amiga

I booted it up, 90% of my disks appear to be rooted, Workbench is running wonkier than I remember and a few critical keys are fucked. Damnit, now I have to take all this crap off of my bed to get to sleep. I should have messed with the compact mac instead :(

    Amiga

When I get back from uni, I've decided I'm going to fire up my good old Amiga. I need some suggestions of cool shit to do with an unexpanded 1-meg A500 with no hard-drive :P I think I have a C compiler laying around somewhere that I might dig out and mess around with.
  11. I haven't used speech recognition in yeaaars, but I distinctly remember that you could mutter any old garbage into the microphone, and the software would attempt to make some sense of it. If windows Vista has the same "go get 'em" attitude to speech recognition...perhaps you could find away to fool it into executing commands, hidden/modulated inside of incomprehensible gibberish or noise :)
  12. pronobozo, we should do a collaboration some time :) If you ever need some heavy guitars, pm me ;D
  13. Ahhhh, the gold old Magic 1. I'm looking forward to his next home-brew system :)
  14. Using off-the-shelf parts, you'd probably have a hard time building a 286 based system, let alone a P1 or P2 specced computer. Seriously, grab an old motherboard and look at how it's assembled. You'll need some pretty strong digital electronics theory to be able to build a working computer system from the ground up. Especially one that would run linux. Set your sights abit lower if you're really interested. Try building a Z80 based system first, then if you manage to pull it off, build something bigger.
  15. How do you know he doesn't know?
  16. My piece-o-crap (bear with me here...whilst I'm generally code + tech savvy, I'm not an extensive over-clocker or modder, so I basically know the bare minimum about my hardware) P4 Celeron @ 2.66ghz 2GB DDR ram Radeon 9550 w/ 256 meg ram Soundblaster Live audio 320 gig SATA 160 gig SATA 80 gig IDE 40 gig IDE I don't really use my machine for anything too intensive. Mainly coding, audio apps (mainly Nuendo), listening to tunes and watching TV/Movies/Pr0nz.
  17. "Unnnngrind my heaaaaaart" Possibly one of the best grind parody tracks ever. And that it sounds like Peter Steel from Type-O-Negative singing is even better :P. But yeah, I pretty much hack to what Cooper hacks to. Nasum, Aborted, Goratory, Necrophagist etc. Brutal death metal and grind is where it's at ;D Sometimes I shake things up and go with some DnB, or some IDM, or even some hardcore gangsta rap. I'm down with Ice Cube.
  18. Are you sure? I think you might need to go over your two lines of code again to pick out your mistake =3
  19. Pretty standard fare...C64, Vic 20, ZX80, Amiga A500, Mac Plus etc.
  20. I just lost 150 bookmarks when i formatted and forgot to back up :( :( :(
  21. I actually gave it a few clear coats of satin polyurethane...not as shiny as a gloss, but not as susceptible to scratches and stuff. It looks alot better in proper lighting :)
  22. Transfers might work if i sprayed the keys with polyurethane after sticking them on, but as cooper said, it's pretty darn likely that they'd come off. As for stenciling them...i could do that, but i'd find some way of screwing it up. As the keyboard is at the moment, i think it looks pretty cool...the colours kind of work together. Still kind of set on the idea of painting the grey keys black though, just for a bit of contrast :) Cheers for the suggestions though. If I do anything awesome, I'll be sure to post more pictures :D
  23. I decided I wanted a clicky keyboard for my own Evilserver, so I went around the garage and hunted for an old keyboard, and found a 1989 KT Technology keyboard (with AT/XT switch and everything!). Anyway, I figured i'd give it a lick of paint (nothing off-the-hook like Wess did) and I must say it's looking rather dandy. Thinking of painting all the grey (and white function) keys black. What think you???

    Do you code?

Oh, and if it counts, I also use MATLAB
