The calculation and output would only happen in the second snippet because in the first it gets ignored if you chose "Economy".

That's 2nd or 3rd in the last few days...

If a stick of RAM is dead, it's dead. Don't try replacing a single chip, you're likely to damage the other chips and new chip trying to fit the thing, it's going to be practically impossible to solder (not to mention find a single chip to buy), it'll leave you with not only a dead stick but a dead chip too. If you actually meant which stick is bad, take them all out and try to boot the computer with each single stick installed. http://www.memtest.org/ is probably what you're looking for to test with.

Computer---USB to Ethernet adapter(ie a thing thats puts the 4 wires of usb down the middle 2 pairs of ethernet)---Patch Panel----Ethernet to USB adapter---USB device.It would work! I guess that'd work as long as you mean you'd just be sending USB over a cat5 cable rather than using a USB network "card", in which case I'm not sure there's such a thing as an ethernet to USB host adapter.

USB and ethernet are *completely* different. This wouldn't even nearly work.

C# wouldn't work, it's platform specific and will refer to an API which will not run without an OS.
