  1. What's up everybody, I'm having some issues. I just got a new wifi pineapple nano tactical and it's not being detected by Kali. It powers on, flickers a little before becoming solid blue. I followed the tutorial exactly as show and still no results. I issued a iwconfig, dmesg, lsusb and nothing is listed. Just to eliminate all possibilities, I used another wireless usb and it registered ASAP. Just wondering if the device may be defective or if there's something that I'm not accounting for. Please help! I'm teaching myself about pen testing and cyber security in general, even installed Snort on my ubuntu machine and have been fun with that. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
  2. I love this little thing, I've had it for less than a week and I've learned a lot already. Sadly, my WLAN0 has gone missing from my WIFI Client dropdown menu under Networking. I can see that it exsists under the Advanced Menu, I can also change it's MAC address. I was using an AWUS036H, a tiny Edimax Dongle and/or the tiny dongle sold by Hakshop testing out range for about an hour. I turned it off via the GUI, came back to it a few hours later and I was wlan0-less. I wish I knew more about the UNIX commands but I don't at the moment. Somewhere in one of the logs, I believe I saw something that seemed the firmware for one of the dongles had replaced the wlan0 firmware. I'm not sure but I sure do miss it. I get paranoid when powerful little tools act funky. Could you glance over these logs and tell me if something nefarious is going on? I've reset it hard and soft, flashed the firmware and updated it all in different order several times. The logs change slightly from here to there but I can't tell what it all means exactly. Here are the logs from this morning (5am is) DMESG AFTER REFLASHING FIRMWARE: [ 0.000000] Linux version 3.18.23 (sebkinne@Worker) (gcc version 4.8.3 (OpenWrt/Linaro GCC 4.8-2014.04 r46591) ) #13 Thu Jan 21 13:34:28 PST 2016 [ 0.000000] MyLoader: sysp=8a14b024, boardp=44b65156, parts=b69f8d32 [ 0.000000] bootconsole [early0] enabled [ 0.000000] CPU0 revision is: 00019374 (MIPS 24Kc) [ 0.000000] SoC: Atheros AR9330 rev 1 [ 0.000000] Determined physical RAM map: [ 0.000000] memory: 04000000 @ 00000000 (usable) [ 0.000000] Initrd not found or empty - disabling initrd [ 0.000000] Zone ranges: [ 0.000000] Normal [mem 0x00000000-0x03ffffff] [ 0.000000] Movable zone start for each node [ 0.000000] Early memory node ranges [ 0.000000] node 0: [mem 0x00000000-0x03ffffff] [ 0.000000] Initmem setup node 0 [mem 0x00000000-0x03ffffff] [ 0.000000] On node 0 totalpages: 16384 [ 0.000000] free_area_init_node: node 0, pgdat 80355cf0, node_mem_map 81000000 [ 0.000000] Normal zone: 128 pages used for memmap [ 0.000000] Normal zone: 0 pages reserved [ 0.000000] Normal zone: 16384 pages, LIFO batch:3 [ 0.000000] Primary instruction cache 64kB, VIPT, 4-way, linesize 32 bytes. 4. I think this is a completely different subject from the previous thread, so forgive me is this is double posting. I found this program called auto-reaver for backtrack: https://code.google.com/p/auto-reaver/ I edited it, changing the mon0 to wlan0mon in one of the scripts, titled "wash". I'm trying to edit it to work with kali 2.0. I did what one of the guys in this thread did: https://forums.kali.org/showthread.php?19641-Reaver-WPS-Locked-Situation-and-Useful-Link/page4 And I quote: I know how to do the first part of that and I did. I did both commands. But I'm lost as to how to change all gawk entries to mawk. I'll research it, but I'm asking because when I look at the script, I don't want to screw up the script as is. I want to edit it correctly. There are also some changes I think need to be made to make this backtrack program work for kali 2.0. Could someone explain what I need to read or how to change this properly to fit kali 2.0? There are various scripts.
  5. Hi all, new to the forums. Anyways in short, why can I not change the mac address of mon0? I can change the mac address of wlan1 and wlan0 successfully. But when put in monitor mode, mon0 still has the original mac address of the interface. Say on wlan0 my real mac is 11:11:11:11:11:11 and my spoofed address is 00:11:22:33:44:55. When I put wlan0 into monitor mode it will have the address 11:11:11:11:11:11:00:00:00:00:00... ect. which is normal. But in linux when i run: ifconfig mon0 down macchanger -m 00:11:22:33:44:55 mon0 ifconfig mon0 up I have no problems and my new mac address for mon0 shows up as 00:11:22:33:44:55:00:00:00:00:00:00 etc. (this is on linux with an atheros chipset usb wifi adapter) However on my pineapple if I try to run this same set of commands over ssh i get: Current MAC: 11:11:11:11:11:11 (unknown)ERROR: Can't change MAC: interface up or not permission: Device or resource busy And when I use the network advanced setting on the web interface to change mac address of mon0, it will say it has been set, and it will show the same mac as wlan0 but when i run ifconfig over ssh it still shows me the 11:11:11:11:11:11:00:00:00:00:00 address. Or it shuts down my mon0 completely. Am I missing something here? I looked around and could not find anything. Thank you for any help.
  6. so, i enable wlan0, set the encryption to wpa2, put in my encrypted password, reset the wireless, remove my ethernet connection, adn try to connect wirelessly. it just keeps asking me for the encryption, like it's failing to connect and im very very sure its the right encryption. is it a dhcp issue? if so i tried to manually enter my ip (172.16.42.30), netmask (255.255.255.0), and gateway (172.16.42.1) with no avail. please help?
  7. Hey guys! First off, Kudos to Darren for such a great product and website :) I'm having a slight problem ever since I got the Mark V. I set it up all fine, connected it to my Wifi connection and in the start, I could browse the internet through the eth0 port. But after a day or two, that's changed. Now internet won't work no matter what. At times even the Pineapple bar wouldn't connect to internet. any ideas how I get it to connect to my wifi and the internet to work on the Karma ? I can get devices to connect to it but no internet at all.
  8. Hello, I'd like to hide original pineapple mac addresses, even after a reboot. Of course, by defaut eth0, wlan0 and br-lan have the same mac address (00:13:37:A5:0F:01). So I added in /etc/init.d/network, in start() function : macchanger --mac=01:02:03:04:05:06 eth0 macchanger --mac=01:02:03:04:05:06 wlan0 ...where 01:02:03:04:05:06 is the new mac address I chose. At reboot, the eth0 and br-lan interfaces are well configured, with the 01:02:03:04:05:06 mac address. But the wlan0 interface keeps it's original mac address (00:13:37:A5:0F:01). :( So I tried to fix the wlan0 mac address in /etc/config/wireless, and I used : config wifi-device 'radio0' option type 'mac80211' option hwmode '11ng' option macaddr '01:02:03:04:05:06' [...] But after a reboot the wlan0 interface keeps it's original mac address (00:13:37:A5:0F:01), and in the file /etc/config/wireless new configurations were automatically added at the bottom : config wifi-device 'radio2' option type 'mac80211' option hwmode '11ng' option macaddr '00:13:37:A5:0F:01' [...] config wifi-iface option device 'radio2' [...] So, how to fix the mac address for wlan0, even after a reboot ? Regards.
  9. Ok here is my issue when i try enabling the Wlan0 it does not enable also when i try enabling wlan1 it says enabled but when i refresh it disables again. Could this be a Firmware issue as i just got it. Note I tried Resetting it to factory defaults already. Some Snap Shots http://imgur.com/LHqHFod,JiS3eTd#0 Note Firmware 1.0.4
  10. Hi guys! Yestarday i just got the Mark V and i'm really happy about that. It's been a long waiting till coming in Europe but now here it is. I do have some problems with it. After flashing and so worked perfectly first time and i could see Pineapple_XXXX on range despite the fact my android phone didn't connected auto. Anyway, i think i messed up a bit the things and routing table because i can't understand it anymore and i can't start karma. It just do noting when i try from WUI. I have seen in karma config there is no name for the of wireless networks should stream, i keep add and save with a name but still the same problems. Can somebody first of all help me with routing table and to understand which wlan number works for each thing? Also if i have turned on wlan0 and wlan1 I still can't see any pineapple network in range. I used wiki page but unfortunately there are not so much topics covered there. I was looking also around for some tutorials in the really begging after you boot first time the pineapple. I appreciate any help and explanation and i do hope i will have it working soon. Thanks a lot guys, Alex
  11. I'm having some issues that began immediately after performing a factory reset. My issues pertain primarily to connectivity, client mode, and AutoSSH. Connectivity issues: 1) I cannot connect to my Pineapple AP when I use my Alfa AWUS036NHA (ar9271) USB network adapter with Kali Linux; however, I am able to connect with my Netgear (rtl8187) USB network adapter with Kali Linux. I'm also able to connect with my MacBook Pro, MacBook, and iMac's built-in network adapters. Only when trying to connect with my Alfa, I receive the error- "Unable to obtain an IP address." I've rebooted Kali, rebooted the Pineapple, factory reset the Pineapple, enabled/disabled the radios, changed my Alfa's MAC, and various other things. 2) Prior to performing the first factory reset, I did not have any problems with client mode. After the reset, however, I had the following problems: As soon as I'd use client mode, wlan0 would stop broadcasting permanently and wlan1 would not connect to the wireless network that I selected. To get wlan0 up again, I had to perform a factory reset. Eventually I found that both radios had the same MAC address, so I changed the MACs (in /etc/config/wireless) and the radios began to function again. Now the issue is that all of my Pineapple clients, with the exception of Mac OS X clients (VERY STRANGE), are disconnected immediately after enabling client mode. Issues with AutoSSH: 1) AutoSSH doesn't start on boot or remain persistent 2) If I manually use client mode to connect to a network after a fresh reboot, AutoSSH will not connect to my server although it indicates that it's connected. To get AutoSSH working, here's the procedure that I have to perform: a- Use the client mode tab to connect to the wireless network that I need for internet b- Reboot the Pineapple c- The Pineapple will automatically enable client mode and reconnect to the wireless network that I connected to prior to reboot. d- Click Connect in the AutoSSH tile This gets me connected to my server. However, when managing the Pineapple remotely, I depend on AutoSSH to start on boot and automatically connect after switching between networks in client mode. These issues are very frustrating. Insight is appreciated. Thanks.
  12. Hi all, Having what seems like a problem with the Pineapple and wondering if anyone else has seen this or can offer support... It seems like the radio in my Pineapple isn't functioning properly. After boot up, I can see my Pineapple's SSID but can no longer connect to it. I receive a general connection time-out from BT5, Win7, and Mac OS X. When I enable Karma, I have at least 5 devices in my house that Karma should see including BT5 on an HP Laptop, Windows 7 machine, Linux Machine, an iPhone (I've even got apple's success.html on the pineapple to enable this) and a few others, but it seems that it doesn't detect any clients. These all have a few unsecured and remembered networks. Lastly, I've stopped my wireless, opened the site survey module, enable wlan0 (and then mon0) and tried to scan for APs but none appear (I usually see about 12 with a regular laptop internal wlan). Oh yeah, I also SSHed into it and loaded airodump-ng and that comes up blank too. I've reset cache, factory reset, rebooted, and re-flashed to 2.7.0 (which was my first firmware on the unit.) Thoughts?
