  1. Nmap terminal is our friend... zenmap is sticky and GUI... get it? Yeah yeah... I'll shut up...
  2. I've run monitor modes from my Triumph. It has a snapdragon chipset. I just do not like getting apps from the apps store. I would much rather package it myself and install through adb. My phones SU. pulling the reigns from VIrgin Mobile (the annoying Virgin Mobile lady at start up is no more = + ). My chipset is not compatible with aircrack-ng, but it can monitor the hell out of the traffic around me. I was at my local Shell station and decided to monitor with APscan Paid (which has less features than the free version... the developer has not replied to the issue yet). I picked up 6 different iPad signals; one SSID was PrincessPeach... which I thought was pretty cool. I wanted to save the file, but I opened the paid version... so I could not save.... fucked up, right? The free version allows saving.... yeah.... less functionality and more price is exactly why I kicked the Windows habit (at least toned it down). Talked to the Dev. and he is fixing it... if you guys want a lightweight tool that monitors traffic (he is working on traffic cap), google play APscan paid... I always give the good devs money for good products, especially when it is the closest thing to aircrack-ng I can find.
  3. I purchased BusyBox Pro, and it contains a lot of the nix command line options; not sure about the libs. In regards of your nmap, is it ran via terminal? Nmap was my first love, so to speak, and would love to have it on my phone. What OS does your touchpad run off of? I thought that was an android plat.
  4. Nice to know someone is there looking, too. So, open cli busybox, extract aircrack-ng, emulate its services through busybox? Hmmm.... sounds like a job for the developer... lol... but in all seriousness, this sounds like it could be pretty fun to figure out... (sigh)... lol
  5. I have done my snooping around for airocrack-ng for android. Now, I understand that the architectural differences between PCs and android (not a pro, just the gist). I just want to make sure I am doing this correctly. I have superuser access and want to place aircrack-ng onto my Triumph via sd card. Is there any step I am missing... do I need to emulate a debian workspace or can it work out of the box? I have the .tar ball and want to extract it to my phone. From what I have read, this is probably not going to work... so... if anyone has any clue on how to... it'd be cool if you would help. EDIT: Looks like there is no work around. Looks like a dead end. What apps can be as bad ass as aircrack on the Android (would like to place to SD then install, without the play store).
  6. Was anyone here once a kid? I know that most of us have a solid understanding the full consequences of our actions. In fact, that is what separates common sense from, well, no common sense, Let them spend money to exploit people. Wait till the feds bust there door down for snooping/looting the wrong network. Or, maybe get caught by someone like us while we are monitoring our traffic. Either way, I have never heard of a 100 % chance to exploit anything without a lot of homework (or little, depending on what ya know). Money for exploit tokens? Sounds like people are getting too lazy to me.
  7. I was interviewed by ATF agents. The only item I had was an antique double barrel insured for 25,000 $ dollars. Apparently, a rare collectors piece. I was a dumb teenager, and it is true that a little knowledge is a very dangerous thing. I have not committed an adult crime (one juvenile offense, also non violent), and the said theft happened when I was 17; enough to convict as an adult. I have not, and I cannot say this enough, I do NOT have anything else on my record. I do not underplay the fact that they were "guns".... a firearm is designed to kill.. that is vanilla. But what is too much when I give back to my community. I volunteer through local venues. I even cleaned the shit at the humane society on several occasions. As for the upfront policy, you would be amazed on how quickly a great interview goes sour when explaining my past conviction. I could actually see the look of "...too bad" before they spew their hiring policy. As for the Military. This was my initial answer. I though, the military would take me because I can actually prove myself. The recruiters told me that my criminal record would not be accepted. Their explanation was that the shift from a Republican president to a Democratic president changed policies. I have the same chances of committing a felony as a person who does not have a felony because I have no offenses post rehabilitation. Just got off the phone with the local recruiters, and if you paid more than 2,000 $ in restitution, you cannot join the military (all branches).
  8. If, hypothetically speaking, you were at a party when you were a teenager and you are completely trashed. You then get this really, really, really dumb idea and you steal firearms from a gun locker that wasn't locked. Then, another "friend" gets caught and says that you stole all of the guns (even though he was the first one in) and you had a search warrant brought to your house and they find the guns. You go to court, plea to possession of firearms, and you go through 5 years of drug testing. You do so well, in fact, you paid all of the 13,000 $ in restitution and you get off probation early. Time passes, say, 10 years. You have had "jobs" that were either temporary or contracted specifically for certain duties. You are great with computers and could build, fix and diagnose a PC better than any Geek Squad employee could. Hell, you know more about computers than pretty much anything else. But, every time you apply for a job that you would excel at, you get turned down because of one nights bad decision. Where would you turn when McDonalds tells you that you are overqualified and a local Office Max/Best Buy tells you they won't hire you because of the blemish on your record. What the hell do you do then? I am putting myself out there a bit, so some constructive criticism would be nice. I was supposed to take a drug test today for a Help Desk job and when I get there... they said my background check came back and that I would not be able to be employed there. Fuck, how much more of a loser could I be to be turned down by McDonalds. My girlfriend busts her ass at work and I am stuck at home, taking things apart, flashing tablets, perusing networks, etc, and I guess I can't flip take orders from a window, clean bathrooms, flip burgers, and drop starch packed fries into a fryer... Sorry everybody, but I am just to my wits end...
  9. Stomach cramps.. mmmmm...

  10. I love my phone, but the damned USB is ALWAYS HIT OR MISS. I know that if the USB dislodged (it barely moves and loses connectivity) could corrupt any data sent between the devices. I want to back up my original ROM, but with the tether connecting/disconnecting constantly, I am frankly concerned that I will brick it. To answer your question, I want my phone to be a Gray hat Swiss army knife. I am just concerned about ROM backing and replacement. Can I do this all VIA SD (silly question probably, but I am not bricking my Triumph).
  11. The MOTO Triumph is pretty bad ass... the 1 GHz processor doesn't hurt, either!
  12. I always explain "how things work" to my daughter. She COULD hack, but her long blonde hair makes it a wee bit difficult. She wants a Pineapple and a USB antenna for Christmas. I get a little worried at times... she is 11 and LOVES TECH.... all of those boys out there better not screw with her; she may be able to retaliate electronically. Recently, she helped me install an Nvidia Tuner on her grandmas PC... grandma was SHOCKED!
  13. Honestly, I had not a clue about "cloudflareresolve"... I understand why you would want to hide your info....
  14. Guess what? I found a hack that, from what the webpage says (My Anarch. cookbook is no where to be found) the RED BOXES still work at some locales. Here are two links that should get you going in the right path. http://wiki.docdroppers.org/index.php?title=Beginner's_Guide_to_Phreaking
  15. No need to be modest! You know your shit and are willing to help ADD stricken folks like myself to learn. CHEERS, again!
  16. I know that a lot of the "phreak" payphones are becoming more digitized. Let me be clear with one thing; it has been about 2 decades since I was getting my phreak on. My uncle and I (more him, since he was the sauter expert) built a RED BOX with certain modulators that emulated the sound of the coin drop. It was pretty complicated to a young child, as I was once yesteryear. On the other hand, TELNETs are still in use today, but they communicate through a PBX server (someone here should correct me if I am wrong, but I am going off of memory at the moment). The PBX server may be outdated, but I have a LCOM magazine around here somewhere. If you are serious about getting into the dark, seedy world of phreaking, you are going to have to bone up on telnet data and how it is moved throughout any given means; console or otherwise. I am going to say again, though, take this with a grain of salt. It has been a long time since I have gotten down with that type of stuff because I got caught up in chasing girls and being "popular" (wish I would have never done that... I would probably not be in the financial hardship I am in now). Well, ya guys did it again... I am going to research some of my old books I got lying around. I will get back to this post. I am getting old *sigh*... I am really behind on what was... but hey, having kids and a family will do that to ya. Here is a little tidbit of info that I found. http://www.historyof...ing.org/faq.php
  17. Hello HAK5, Actually, I have been following this thread for a short while, and I notice that a Digital Pirate (along with a few others) brings a wealth of information to the table. He is concise in all of his posts. He refers to himself as "...the resident dick", yet he knows what he speaks of and his answers propagate the seeds of mind improvement amongst n00bs and professionals alike. Digip, my grayish-black fedora comes off to you. Through my short time here, I have learned more about ethics, common sense, and that everyone should TRY and TRY before you come and ask around for simple answers that are readily available. Most people, including I, probably want to buy this man a beer. The rest are offended by his to-the-point approach. This beers for you, Digip. For helping me learn stuff that I haven't ever heard of. Cheers, Digip! (I can't afford this beer, maybe you could put it on your tab, Digip? :)
  18. Hello Hak5, I wanted to inquire about the Arduino MEGA ADK R3 for Android plats. I have done some research in which I concluded there are a PLETHORA of uses with this board. Aside from the UAV drones, cool led light ties, and so on; what other purposes does the Arduino serve? I have never been into remote control plane flying (could never talk my parents into it as a kid). A LED tie is great for laughs, but not reason enough for me to purchase. On a side note, I have looked into the costs of the Arduino M.ADKR3 for Android and see there are knockoffs from China. Should I only purchase the OEM? Thanks meh people
  19. The psyche of the survivor(s) is the hardest part. Keeping a positive mental attitude. Spiking your adrenaline; thinking you are not going to live is basically the death sentence. I believe that the key to survival is the implementation of said skills (Sitwon), and a dry run sounds like a great idea. I tried talking my old lady into letting me do it around the winter time... but she said work is more important...
  20. Water is a given. But, carrying gallons of water is a pretty tough physically. I forgot to add a solar still (I think that is the correct spelling); it is basically a plastic container that you can put over plant vegetation. Then, you cut a plastic bag around the bottom middle and place it over the plant. This can create a sizable amount of water, but takes a while. This is from a special ops survival book I acquired a while back. Flavor has nothing to do with survival :)... but yes, they taste like... well... shit... lol
  21. Hey-row Hak5. I noticed someone posted a "ZOMBIE SURVIVAL KIT"; whether or not it will be zombies or just human ignorance; but in the back of our heads there is always the possibility that the world may end.... given we are all mortals. So, I have been working on my kit for a few years now (slowly but surely), and here is the list of my following items I have in case of an emergency. (THIS IS AN INCOMPLETE LIST, STILL PLENTY TO ADD) 4.5 Inch fixed KA-BAR Water purifying tables (when fires are too dangerous) USMC Spade w/ hatchet attachment (my pride and joy) Parachute cord (2 25 foot packages) Doan Magnesium bricks (3 of them so far) Waterproof matches Datrex emergency ration bars (Only one pack, so far) Black tarps (2 cheap ones) Tent (may take off of list, as I have tarps) Sharpening stone Winter gear (already own a ton, the north is cold!) That is my incomplete list. I want to purchase a few more items once my funds are available. They are: Mylar blankets FULL medical kit (expensive) Waterproof Survival handbook Nice Compass (No Chinese knockoff) 30-06 rifle HK MK23 Pistol (Known as a very robust firearm) Bullet press Solar charge panels Short wave radio w/ rechargeable batteries ... I am sure you guys could help make some nice additions to my list... chime in! Who knows, we could live to see the day we pass peacefully in our beds; or we can die from exposure if the world goes to hell in a wicker basket.
  22. ok... we all know that China makes the iPhone... you may also know that the employees are paid nickles for their work... well, now they rioted! Go figure, right? http://www.foxnews.com/tech/2012/09/24/apple-supplier-foxconn-closes-factory-after-thousands-protest/
