  1. Fancy. You are better than everyone, huh? You should learn how to interpret sentences and opinions properly. I am not a rich man by any means. I apologize for making dumb decisions as a teen and caught a felony. I get no second chance. I study around 6 - 8 hours a day. I repair LCD TVs and PCs on the side; even though I can build a server from the ground up. I feel you are trolling the forums. I am flattered to know that you think I am a drug addict. :) Darren believes highly in privacy laws, and that IS a topic related to HIS forum.
  2. I love it! NO RAP! (Tiger Woods hole in one gesture!)
  3. Wow, anti American? Where the hell was that ever implied. I am an American. It's called a constitutional right. Whether you are liberal or conservative. It does not matter. I exercise my freedom of speech. I do not understand why you are such an angry person. If the military gave me the right to enlist, I would have. No second thoughts. I love America. But, in my opinion (noticed how I added that), a lot of civil liberties are violated through new policies FORCED without the citizens voting on it. I respect anybodies opinion; whether or not you respect mine is your right. People like you are the ones who deter others from learning, or hell, even accessing the forums. Your high horse doesn't seem too tall when you insist an IQ test for a learning forum.
  4. Ahhhh,,, kids and there toys. When my teacher saw my pager, she said "Only drug dealers and thugs have pagers.". I pointed out so do Doctors... I no do so well from there on out... :) OTG + ABD = FTW
  5. Do you think it was a spear-phishing attempt? Look at the name.... Brian K Hatcher? Brian Catcher.... lol... sounds like they want to sell you something or steal all of your creds.
  6. I know when I sit in front of my pc; blindly gazing into pixels, deteriorating my retinas, always with my music playing. My favorite artists while honing my skills are: The Black Keys CCR - If you don't know em, you heard them before Incubus System of a Down Boston Sublime Middle Class Rut... What do you guys like scarring your ears to?
  7. You guys should lock this thread. Everyone should have to view this thread to be accepted into Hak5... if it weren't for digip, I would be pretty damned lost at times. When you view his profile, you see multiple negatives... I think that is wrong and people on the forums need to grow a pair. A verbal scolding from digip is actually a good thing... it means he gives a shit.... when will these kids learn? I VOTE LOCK! (not that I have any rapport or anything, Digip just kicks ass and should have many noses up the backside of his trousers! ...I just wiped my nose off... sorry ;P
  8. I would say a good "hackers" guide is to start from the white hat perspective. Understanding protocols, headers, FTPs, SMTPs, etc. will build a solid foundation of any hackers skill set. Contributing programming to other developers is also a great way to learn. I could not tell you what book is better; they are all different. Many may disagree with me, but trial and error are the ways I learn best. Google University has some good notes, too. One other question: Hack what, exactly. The definition of hacker, from websters dictionary is: 3. Computer slang a: a computer enthusiast b: a microcomputer user who attempts to gain unauthorized access to proprietary computer systems. Depending on what you want to do, enthusiasm is probably the better of the definitions. I am sure many here are enthusiast (but with other skill sets, too).
  9. Thanks yall... BTW, site looks great... digip I am merely trying to catch the pricks that keep on calling me... I once acted like a detective at a crime scene (Tom Mabe the comedian did the same thing) and asked the marketer how they knew the person, where they lived, and why they are calling. After they explained they were a collection company, I told them that is what they all say and that I need to speak to their supervisor immediately... in which they then hung up... classic...
  10. Tha I didn't mean to piss you off, bobby. I enjoy a little fraternization with my peers. Although, I don't see how I was "complaining"; I was merely bringing up a current event and wanted opinions on the technological needs to do those searches and where it may or may not help.
  11. I am browsing them now... :) mmm mmm mmm... pbx!
  12. LOL... that is hilarious. I just want to trace there VoiP and peek around... I just need to do some more spelunking... Tom Mabe makes me laugh... but these bastards are ruthless. But, I am still wondering why I have to accept a charge to receive a call... it sounds like some type of hook or something.
  13. Oh where, oh where is that WEP, oh where, oh where can it be?

  14. As most of you probably already know, that you can spoof your name, callerid, and telephone number so as it appears as whatever you want it to. I have been receiving calls from MDOC (Michigan Department of Corrections) and it asks if I want to accept the call. This, I am sure, is a SE deployment. What is the first thing you think of when you get a collect call nowadays? I think I may have had a friend in jail so I should accept it, right? Wrong... I have had these calls and the person making the call gives there name FIRST. The collect voice will say, "You have a collect call from (name of caller), do you wish to accept these charges.... This number has no such thing and just asks to accept the charges. I Googled the number and about 30 people have had the same call, yet when they call the police station, the reception officer has no clue what they are talking about. So, I am not very keen on my Vonage setup, although the oxidit tool worked out of box retrieving the RTP (I think that is the right protocol, correct me if I am wrong, please) conversation. My question is, with MY OWN NETWORK, how could I get some vengeance bestowed to these assholes? They are attempting to do something malicious, I think. So, what tool could from BT5 could traceroute this number? Is there such a tool to despoof? Ya'll are great... keep on truckin', keep on hackin'.
  15. BTW... Digip's page has been redone. Nice job, digip, the new layout looks great! It is like it is saying, "Yeah, you want some of this, don't you!"...
  16. What is a Mac? Isn't that the address given to modems and such? ;p
  17. Agreed, bobbyb. Drugs and gang violence were/are still the major thing from the city I grew up in. After a bit of thought, I see where this could make a huge difference in violent/drug crimes (certain "drug" crimes are a different story). A defense attorney could declare mistrial due to the lack of a warrant. I understand that. Here a couple questions though: How much manpower would something like that need? How can one system determine a patients' call to a doctors office asking for scheduled narcotics from the addicts? How does one differentiate an addict from a patient? I feel if one person owns a gun without a permit has the same chances of killing somebody as a person with a CCW. It all varies from individual to individual. If this were used in the high crime, urban areas, the ACLU would shit there overalls. What this boils down to is civil rights.... and we don't even have a government that can agree on, well, anything really. What do you think the ACLU will do? You know they have already contacted the NAACP... (like a circle, round round)
  18. WAIT A MINUTE! THE GOVERNMENT WASTING MONEY? Oh yeah... no surprise :P But, they are the nation/state and have the computer power to DoS everyone in the states, and probably beyond. That said, they are going to watch anyway, whether or not they make it public policy is an entirely different batch of cider.
  19. Yeah... like the Britney Spears approach... you think you could make a Larry King sex tape payload? LOL... that would be HILARIOUS!
  20. Another question I can't believe I didn't ask... how well does it dissipate heat? Could you add a fan/liquid cooling system around the inside of the case? Just thinking of possible improvements.
  21. Big brother? Hello? Can you hear me? Of course you can. You can hear me even with my phone off, can't ya? Well, the US Government has stated that they can log your location and hold your information for... well... that is yet to be decided. The UK has similar stances on the subject of WATCHDOG policies, but what are they hoping to achieve? Pros: Kidnap victims (given the attacker is dumb enough not to get rid of there cell phone) Runaways ...Terrorism; I suppose Cons: Violation of privacy rights Agents can monitor your conversation if they "feel" like it ...plethora of other negative scenarios. Well, since they "invented" the internet, the DoD and justice dept. can make any policy they feel is, "For the protection of the nations' citizens." .... I am bothered, how about you guys? here is the link to learn more... Justice Dept. to defend warrantless cell phone tracking | Politics and Law - CNET News
  22. mmmmm.... nothing like Registry talk to wake you up in the morning! I willl have a decaf HKey... hold the script.
  23. That, my friends, is called MITM I do believe :)
  24. That is very cool. Does the foam and the case interfere with your range? Perhaps punching holes and mounting your Alfa or whatever dbi antenna you may have so you can screw them on the fly. Maybe also purchase an arduino board and leds for purely aesthetic value... Nice rig all in all, though!
