  1. I am not sure exactly what you are asking... Can C & B crack passwords? Yes. Can C & B ARP poison the shit out of a lan? Absolutely. Best way to protect yourself? High quality passwords that would take years to crack. Why not say something to the Admin.?
  2. I bet the switch is configured for you to only pull a given amount of bandwidth when running the vlan or vpn. The switch bottlenecks all of the connections to it, and it gives all of the cpus on the switch to receive the same bandwidth (your speed of .3mbps is outrageous, might as well add a dial up sound when you get on the internet). Tell your local admin that you can't check your grades because of the slow bandwidth. He/she should, at the least, tell you why it is happening or fix it if it is not. Then again, I am still drunk from a hackerspace last night.
  3. If I am not mistaken, you could buy an on-off switch from Radioshack. Easy!
  4. I am not sure why you would buy free software. ;) . If you want to contribute to the nix community, by all means, purchase the dvd set for around 25 $. In the past year, I have clipped my Microsoft wings and went with Ubuntu 12.04. So, programming on the other hand is something that is not picked up instantaneously (at least in my case). Here is a list that I was recommended by the Hak5 site. Ruby on Rails Python There was probably more, but I am taking on those two languages. Let me be the one millionth person to say it takes time and effort.
  5. ProxySwitchy for Chromium... not 1337, but is better than nothing...
  6. Be careful because if those create an abcess, you might have to chop of a portion of your jaw. Sick shit, but it happens.
  7. Just rooted it with GingerBreak. So, I am super user now. What next?
  8. I understand your pain, for I was a dumb kid once (SE for stealing guns). I was in prison for nearly a year, did 5 years probation, and not one time did I violate my conditions. Finding a job with that on your record is the hardest thing you will have to overcome. I contacted a lawyer and he told me it was going to cost around 2,000 dollars and I had to pay a retainer of 800. I do EVUS work (exterior plastering), and made prevailing wages, but they do not last long enough. Also, when winter hits, no money, no money, no money. What you do save up is promptly spent on bills. I feel your pain... bud... I really do.
  9. I have recently bought a new, slightly used Motorola Triumph. It has a lot of nice specs, especially the 1GHz processor. What, (besides BT5), could take advantage of this power? Are there any apps that can make this phone, for lack of a better word, more bad ass? PS, what would benefit me if I added Ubuntu to it? Could I set it up so it is a IP phone? (Virgin Mobile prepaid)
  10. Possibly the understatement of the millenium... "Windows being Windows, I guess" CLASSIC!
  11. That is really odd... I always heard of them coming in on the bottom... in any regard... I would not want those damned things to start hurting in the 120 degree heat in the shade!
  12. Can ports be opened on smart tvs? How funny would that be to pwn someone via their tv? "Just swingin' my dick!" + auto scrolling = winning!
  13. I could imagine just getting lost in the "eating moment" and doing that... those wisdom teeth are in there like sideways screws... (holding mouth) I would partake in a high class narcotic, too!
  14. What kind of bandwidth is needed for that?
  15. How big is the hard drive (or SD, Mini-SD, etc)? I was wondering what you were using your model with.
  16. CRIME : New SSL/TLS attack for Hijacking HTTPS Sessions | The Hacker News - Security Blog The creators of BEAST (Browser Exploit Against SSL/TLS) claim to have found a vulnerability in HTTPS. "Once they had the cookie, Rizzo and Duong could return to whatever site the user was visiting and log in using their credentials."... Hackers make jobs!
  17. A local shop owner wanted me to try and make him an Android app for a rating system (or HTML for his website). He wants his customers to buy a product, rate it, and could tally up the totals for the best products. I haven't the slightest clue where to start; until I thought of Hak5. Is there a template of some sort out there for this? Found a little bit of info... but mostly on Rating apps already made...
  18. I watch hak5 from the xbox via youtube... but I get stupid chopped videos that tell me to go to revision3.com... Is it the Android from the hak5.shop? I was wondering about all of it's potential uses are... assuming it is similar.
  19. i do believe that netstat -ano gives him the ability to see all of that
  20. You described very little; aside from Win 7 64-bit. Have you clicked on any links from emails, friends, etc? Have you assigned this folder to someone else in your work space? Do you have Win 7 Pro, Ult, or Home? Have you checked your netstat -ano? Are you using VM? Does Microsoft love you (they don't, that was rhetorical :) Too many questions for me to help answer your question. Perhaps someone else can read more into this than I can. Can you check who else can use the folder? I think you should be able to right click it and check its properties. (This is not big league info, but could help nevertheless) The users folder can be shared VIA internet, but a few properties have to had changed before one could make this folder shared. If you go to your command prompt; run as admin; under the DOS terminal, type "netstat -ano". This will list your established/listening connections. Go through this (if you run BT 5 <, Nessus, etc) list and write down what you know and what you don't. This can effectively let you know who is there and what is listening. If you do not know why or what is listening on port xxxx, then Google it. Assuming your into the hak scene, you may have quite a few more open ports than what you should. On the other hand, before you change anything, check you PID (ctrl+alt+del), and if you see a notepad.exe, calc.exe, etc. you did not open... kill it. This could be someone escalating privileges to your PC is another that can set a foothold) To protect your stuff, make new passwords *make sure there is not a keylogger installed, for this will just give your PW out* If you find anything, let me know... I will try to walk you through on how to find out who they are (if they are not spoofed). Hopefully, the info I gave will help you... if not... I am sorryz
  21. Digip, it says the post was taken down... did ya get the information from the site?
  22. My daughter and I saw it at Target... Walmart... one of tem evil companies ;) . She saw this and got super excited. "Dad! Look at this...",, she paused , then said, "Can this be opened without the combination because its electric?". She is smart, but I told her someone cracked it and instantly didn't want it. //did not add the fact the kid was 10, that will be my secret :)
  23. Those are essentially LEDs in hollow, plastic ropes, if I am not mistaken. It would be relatively simple to do. You should find the video where Darren interviews a guy with a LED tie, he says a website to go to but I do not have time to look it up right now...
