  1. Absolutely agreed. The video only shows the same thing that happens in every war.... break things and kill people. That said, the man betrayed everything that he trained for... especially his country. Not to say that the gunners should not have been charged; but this video could have been given to someone with NO status; maybe even delivered it to the satanic news outlets if he were afraid of retaliation. It is better than the classified info (which we still do not know what is completely) to be seen than troop positions, next of kin... hell... probably passwords and user names to a couple of...ahem... major servers... After watching the video again, it reminds me of Full Metal Jacket. But, when has there been a war without innocent casualties?
  2. Let me phrase this up for ya... YOU, tested THERE systems. So, that in itself is, in fact (99.9% positive) you are violating their TOS. Colleges / Universities give strict guidelines to what can, AND can not be done. This system may be exploitable, but what is there to gain? If some snot nosed kid (this is not referencing you, but this is a metaphor) told me my system is flawed, I would not only report you to the administrators, I would take all of the credit for "discovering" the exploit. You are in no position to tell them there systems are flawed... at least directly. I would keep it to yourself, and who knows, maybe one day you will have enough rapport to discuss your concerns. Universities are usually pretty thick with security (Govt projects, etc), but local campuses sometimes have a novell type system that are usually pretty bad... but telling an admin they are not doing there job is pretty ballsy, to say the least. What is the vuln? Could be an intentional vuln. Whinnie the Poo, anyone?
  3. Do you think that programming should be a prerequisite for school? If so, what type of programming should start first... Java is fun, but shouldn't C++ be the standard?
  4. The C++ is, I feel, the stepping stone to understanding. You know c++, everything else is a breeze
  5. It would seem you and I are on the same sentence (same page too broad)... but I just worry about shit that might happen, being a father and all. I read that forum where the kid made a program that is designed to destroy systems. I would kick the living, well, shit-piss-blood out of someone that did that to me (considering I got the chance). But, I do agree, information SHOULD be available; quickly and efficiently. All in all, I would give chances, but todays' society is not like any society before it... and it is a little nerve racking. I remember a PB that blew a 2 foot diameter stump into pieces... I don't think my ears hear that frequency anymore, just a static like sound... lol...
  6. HAIKU Windows, covered in dust I try to open my Windows but it takes too long My Windows are very expensive Can't open my Windows OS Oh, look, I need to reformat MSDOS is not Debian based Although a Commadore was my first taste It seems the blue screen ruined my eyes MSDOS, I knew you, and little has changed Now I have to learn Linux, and it is a pain A little haiku and a F U to MS for charging me SOOO much for so little
  7. Pandora has some system that allows the radio to quit after a certain idle time... maybe someone here can reiterate... I a JoaT techie. I know a little about everything, but am by no means, an expert like some of my fellow forum members. TSPool@bt$ APT-GET INSTALL LINUX FOR MY DUMB ASS does not work... SHIT... I forgot Sudo!!! TSPool@bt$ Sudo apt-get install linux for my dumb ass enter password: No such repository blah blah blah of course, that repository doesn't exist... :o
  8. Could you imagine if the next generation actually just gets rid of words are taught at school... ie TEXT MESSAGING 101... <_< ... I would get marked for using a non-capital letter at the beginning of the sentence.,, BUT, I do not think that just human language should be taught. Programming (which is an universal language) should be taught as a prerequisite.
  9. Yeah... I didn't want to say the title... too many stupid kids now-a-days. Half of it is not hacking, but hurting people by the tens to hundreds... VERY dangerous info... maybe you could edit it to The ******* ******... I have read of what some kids want to do to their schools network, but this could bring a lot worse! HOOK HOOK HOOK
  10. for more information... TAPR.ORG if anyone is interested...
  11. Sorry, but every time I see your name, I think of Dustin Hoffman in Hook... lol... Thanks DigiP, I have been reading my network+ book, and I would kill for some practical lab apps, but my company laid me off (one of the last that got laid off), and then they tanked... So, I have a lot of free time. I learned most of my tele process from that jolly fellow, Roger, but I can not find his book anywhere,,, heard Bush/Obama took em off the shelf. Though some of it may be deprecated (and minus A LOT OF the material does not need to be posted, ANYWHERE), it had great practical guides that helped me make my first black box, if I recall was the name... perhaps you have that book somewhere around your house, or hard drive for that matter. Could you scan the PHREAK materials... it would be nice to see how much the processes have changed (or maybe still in use). Thanks Digip, you put that very concisely (I am not that talented to explain certain things). Keep it up!
  12. That post was not intended for you, Digip, I was asked what I was smoking when I found out about analog signals being open... just to be clear...
  13. Couldn't PM ya... but I hate deleting all the bullshit, too. But, I hope you can wrap your brain around what I am saying (I am sure ya can) Digininja and I had a pretty good chat on this topic. The FCC has passed legislation for opening analog signals (white space = signals that are not used) for internet traversal. Not a lot of people are on the band wagon, but this is not a new concept. In the 50's, computers were basically buildings and analog signals (television) was the craze. It is still used today, though not widely. Law enforcement, military, etc. The signals (given you are within range of an analog antenna) can be as little as 80 Mbs (long range) and 400-800 Mps (short range). This would be a cheaper, more viable way of getting rural communities internet access vs laying lines, making new antennas. Analog antennas are basically everywhere. What's your take on this?
  14. The us is opening up analog wavelengths to be converted to a sort of FREE ISP... google it bud! Free, meaning tax dollars, not ABSOLUTELY FREE
  15. But it still revolves over the same concept, just different wavelengths, right?
  16. Shouldn't have drank that tequila...

  17. LOL... Darren just posted a video less than a day ago, and I brought my ideas to the table BEFORE the video... WHAT AM I SMOKING? iTard says... hmmm...
  18. Who do you think thought of putting that up in the movie? I think it is a shout out for informational freedom...based that the movie is pretty much anti-authoritarian movie in itself...
  19. I read an interesting topic similar to this one on Spiceworks. Do the employees have an idea on WHY this should not be done? Assuming you have small business, why not set a thin client on any PC that has external access (semi costly), but you can tweak it to your specs. A handful of companies are investing into setting up their systems up so the employee can't even change the wallpaper. Check N Go's systems office is setup like this SERVER---THIN CLIENT---PC I thought it is a good idea...
  20. I kid you only... but seriously, please be careful of what you put on the forums.... Reach pwnr Phreak Germrish Self taught since 93--> you know what I mean if you had only books! Formal Education --.ScottlandK... :D Favorite Movie: Pulp Fiction Favorite Author: Raphael Mudge and Rapid7 Favorite Script: Javascript, Python, Ruby, C++ = Not a professional like Digininja Favorite OS: ...Grew up DOS and WIndows... but I LOVE LINUX --- still semi green, but my pigment is coming back Favorite Forum(s): HAK5 and Spiceworks (if you don't know spice works... well... give em a try)
  21. My social security number is *53-23-7483, I was born in Chicago, Ill... My phone number 2486728469... please don't call lol... personal information ... you guys are lucky for me saying I am from Michigan... lol... NO GIVE NO INFO POR FAVOR
  22. You pretty much meet RANDOMS... you pab to start a game... you matchmake... then you find people... yeah... completely random
  23. My connection is good/average. I have a daughter whom watches shows shows via apps, but I have seen that traffic, and though it does cause a bit of latency, I have no issues, whatsoever. But, I get kids from around, say, Illinois, whom have worse lag than my friend in Angelholm, Sweden (I think it is 7 hops, I will double check). The kid in Illinois shows a 7-1 packet ratio to me (I send 1 SYN/ACK), he uses 7 SYN/ACKs (probably a SYN/ACK attempt to drop me, but I think he has waterfalls behind his ears). So, that is one scenario. I have evaluated other laggy games, and the packet ratios are somewhat stable... and that is what gets me to assume that the A) Akamai sends out a request and hosts the nearest possible hop and designates them as the HOST of the game 2) Akamai does not filter good/bad connections 3) kind of clueless on what would be another suitable scenario for anything else...
  24. EA offers certain games to RENT servers, not to purchase a specific one. As far as others, like Gears of War, Epic Studios, integrates into one a host server (matchmaking could take up to a half hour in GoW 2). I have a solid understanding of online gameplay via pc... but the console adds another element. So, my hypothesis remains as I posted above MS STUDIOS--AKAMAI SERVER--CONSOLE | assuming Game Studio Server ^^ They may provide authentication keys for the purchased material. The software the studio provided has auth keys, too.
