  1. To be the bearer of bad news; the technic loader is compiled by a professional. I am into programming, but not even close to making a game of Minecrafts caliber. To put it another way; the amount of time and resources would not be anything I would want to get involved with unless I was getting paid somehow. I do not enjoy java; as it is one of those languages that rears vulnerabilities time and time again. Young Padiwan, I would like you to go to the repository that created technic launcher. Look at all of that data that it takes to actually create something like this. You should spend more time on school work than some silly game; but I am interested in how much you may know technical wise. Check out this site from securitytube.net (This video, to be exact:http://www.securitytube.net/groups?operation=view&groupId=5). If it is above your head; you should not embark on a full blown project such as the one you described above. Step away from the video game; and start learning. Don't do anything stupid; seriously. I am giving you this resource assuming you are consenting not to part take in any violations of local, state, and federal laws. Most people in this community do not do that, as we have no interest in becoming someones bitch in prison; or the other way around... I digress, though. Google "7 layer OSI model". Study this hard. This is a stepping stone everyone needs to know. Take all of the notes you need (back in school I wrote a page for each on MS word in 12 point font) I want you to write start a new forum; name it "The 7 layers of OSI". Describe your age and why you are enthusiastic about computing. Then, in your own words, describe each layer. If you have questions, ask! (Remember, be concise, if you do not know what that means, google it.) I challenge you this because we all need to learn. Google it, Bing it, just study all of that information until it clicks. It will be a long journey and you will not become a IT guy over night. Dedication is what you need. Nothing happens over night... you must bust your ass and learn everything! Minecraft makes you learn nothing; Halo makes you learn nothing; video games are alright in moderation... Hope you can do this... bud. I think the minds of tomorrow are the ones who will shape the future. Remember; DO NOT CONDONE ANY ILLEGAL ACTIVITIES. Good luck, young Padiwan... may the force be with you...
  2. Installing software is not really what Armitage is for.
  3. I went on and took certain words you said in the rambling and I looked up that "technic launcher" and found this. http://www.technicpack.net/ . That is the package you are referring to. I would have two questions: 1. Is technic launcher java based? 2. Why would a torrent or magnet link be of any consequence? I can see you are really enthusiastic about this. I think you ought to go ahead and learn some more basics on how things work; opposed to how things may work. I love the enthusiasm; and we all start some where. If you go ahead and really write out the question, stating each point concisely, and revising your question into one sentence at the end. Keep on learning, young Padiwan, and the more concisely you ask a question, the more thorough a response another can give. Study hard and screw what other kids may say. Be smart; but never think you know everything because no one knows everything.
  4. This, I thought may arouse some excitement amongst the community. Enjoy, I know I did...
  5. I am not being mean... but where is the punctuation? I mean; your article is far from concise. If I were to help you at all; you must help me understand the incoherent rambling with no real train of thought... Take your time...
  6. Let me explain; I had to go to church and fix their PC. My ride got here and my girlfriend must have pressed send... The article states that you must spend money on good products in order to make a living... This kind of made me feel that the Open Source community is being short handed... to say that you MUST SPEND MONEY TO MAKE MONEY is not entirely true... that is all. Whooop whooop whoooop <-- That was Zoidberg... :)
  7. OK... this is hilarious, but some of it is true; especially the novice status... QUOTE FROM LINK: "One must remember that in order to make money, work must be done in a professional manner as nobody wants to pay for services by a novice. Internet has a number of free resources and tools related to your chosen field of work. Free tools and resources can only help you in getting started comfortably without any financial burden. When your purpose is not just limited to an online presence but extends further to earn money from internet, financial investment in good tools and resources is your necessity because free tools and resources don’t offer that freedom and flexibility which is must for doing work professionally." I love open source... http://www.earnfromn...come-source.htm sorry... this was sent before I finished it... sometimes women just do not think... jk (if she is reading this...:)
  8. It could have been worse. I had a friend in my local college spam all of the user accounts and spoofed an admin. like email address... it seemed totally legit; I even almost fell for it :) . But, what he did not do is send it from a spoofed location and actually sent the admin. himself the email. The admin., which I have never met; apparently traced the email back to his house; two days later... expulsion and criminal charges... could have been MUCH worse.... but still... shitty...
  9. Best Buys' dumpster better watch out... here I come...
  10. zAnti seemed like fun... but unfortunately... you must pay for exploit "credits"... kind of lame...
  11. Well, TOR is my favorite; it is easy to use but molasses slow; but configuring a VPN is "more" secure. Do you own the business? If not, tread carefully. I have a buddy whom works in Nashville that says he caught someone VNC into their servers from the employees house. Has been doing it for years... and now is canned because of multiple violations of work policy. If the company is yours; I would go ahead and buy a nice server and stack on an external firewall. I think IPs are routinely changed anywhoo; with or without your consent. I think that is the nature of the beast.
  12. The proposed bills failed I do believe... On the contrary; Police now need a WRITTEN search warrant from a judge before viewing ANY emails. Before this bill passed; the last law written about email privacy was in 1986... a wee bit outdated, huh? Well, the Justice system doesn't always fail... and I think this is one win for us! http://www.nbcnews.com/technology/technolog/senate-committee-oks-bill-requiring-warrant-email-cloud-search-1C7316741
  13. If I got a foot hold in the DoDs repertoire; it would basically be a dream come true... I think that the Government needs a second line of defense. The Government spends billions of dollars a year on "cyber defense" and we are still considered vulnerable to outside attacks to our nations power grid, police, and even military. Why? That is left open for debate... but I do implore; why not have a series of "professionals" whom sole jobs are to monitor outside traffic with Nation-State tech... then trace back to the offenders... I think they could afford it.
  14. OK... I see the direction now... Puppy Linux + smoothwall = portable. secure. OS oppn GNU style! PS... love the fact that the Cisco portable router/firewall is cheaper new than it is used... lolz
  15. Interesting; I guess I am confused on your concept... you want a portable firewall? Not to sound like a jerk, but is it not better on your PC than it is on a stick? Just curious...
  16. mmmm... i like naked ducks... I can slap on extra payloads with two clicks... "That's what she said"
  17. I love my HP DV7... the only issue is mine gets hot (never too hot unless doing some gaming) and my biometric scanner is not available in the REPOS... but all in all... it is nice! It was 1,200 when I bought it almost two years ago, but it looks like they are around 800 now... ( I wiped mine of Windows 7... oops... o well :) )
  18. Being a hacker introduces principles that most people do not understand. The perception is that you will steal their goodies; DoS their pages; or release vital information to the world... really, a plethora of things. Humans have always been "Hackers"... taking one object and modifying that object to their specs (or at least for what they want to see). Saying a computer hacker is any different than a sports car enthusiast really needs to step back and realize, "Hey, these are actually very similar thing.". Meaning, as one tunes their car for more performance; a hacker tunes leaf CAs and sniff radio/wifi traffic. Why do we do it? We enjoy the thrill of getting something done and not a lot of other people have any clue what the hell we are doing (sports car enthusiast included). Hackers will always be around; just make sure that you play nicely... never want to see some Feds with an indictment.
  19. man... one day, when I am a real boy... :P
  20. my god... if he were to read the 1st page...
  21. GO get your DNS on... https://www.deepmagic.com thanks to Mubix... :D
  22. I remember watching that clip of Bro and thinking; "The next time I stay in a hotel; I will wedge my door shut with a chair."... It is typical for a company that is not food based to be slow paced into fixing the vulnerabilities. If Betty Crocker released a bunch of ding-dongs or what not that contained e. coli or something; the FDA would prompt an investigation and Betty Crocker would put out a recall. On the other hand; Onity has known about the vulnerability that exists and they are still aloud to sell that particular product; without an impromptu investigation. It is poor business practice AND I hope that all of the hotels in the world buy their locks from a different company...
  23. lol... ok... you post twice and you have been here a long time.. huh? Way to contribute...
  24. What would be the possibility of an Hak5 "franchise". If the product was sold for 20 dollars more and you, Darren Kitchen, sold me 1,000 units... would that be a possibility? Hypothetical... sure... but I would love to be a sales rep. for Hak5... even if the pay was negligible... but that is just me. Big fan, now and forever... but I would love to see Pineapples readily available; just don't want to see Hak5 gone.
