  1. You say it like a lot of companies don't change the settings :D ... Hooray for Comcast!
  2. Kinda pissed about the kid who got suspended for using Linux

  3. What's up forum? I want to get some opinions on Back Box 3. I, personally, think it is sleeker than BT. But, the toolkit in Back Box seems to be a lot lighter than its cousin, BT. I am not sure what tools should be added (if any). QUESTION: What tools would compliment Back Box 3? https://launchpad.net/~backbox/+archive/three
  4. Well, I do not like the way my brain is processing and I think that the justice systems have a lot on their plates as it is; but I feel you should call a lawyer and file a defamation suit against the school. I would have been insanely embarrased by this. They took you out of class (in front of your peers) and labeled you before the facts are in. Are you suspended today? If so, they handed down disciplinary actions against you and the bastards have no proof that you did it. That right there is what I call, "Profiling." You now have a "label" on your record... The more I think about it... the more the lawsuit makes sense to me. IF there is a shred of documentation that laments your permanent record; you need to contact a lawyer and demand that all of the documentation of this occurence needs to be sealed and "erased" (for a lack of a better word). Frivolous lawsuits are usually what make me irritated with the justice system, ie "Do not cut the limb you are sitting on with this chain saw" and "I burnt myself with hot coffee because they didn't label it 'hot'.", etc. You are a kid who scares a bunch of spineless adults whom have to blame students for their mistakes. More than likely; one of the faculty/staff got ./SET up... my 2 cents on it... but feel free to do what you have to do; just make sure this doesn't tarnish your name...
  5. Wow... just goes to show, "If it nays like a horse and looks like a horse...". Also, Darren was smart and called it Hak5... so I think taking the "c" out of Hack... making it an entirely different entity. Also, they can check to see who did it, can't they? What state are you from? I will do some research for you, if you would not mind... edit: http://www.dailymail...asses-snow.html On a side note; in the state of Michigan; this is considered a felony. I am a felon and this is not something you want... Lawyer up...
  6. Man, I had no clue that the native packages are so damned volatile. Are you saying that java not only tastes like shit, it updates like shit? jk... :)
  7. What's up, everybody? I am sick, 100.4 fever (went up a decimal place), feel like shit... Anyway, that doesn't stop me from my studies, and with studies; problems sometime arise. I installed Back Box 3 and was configuring it. Then, I tried updating the ruby version from 1.8 - 1.9.2... and this is the result. ____________________________________________________________________________ startledguy@MSEntertainment:/usr/share/ruby-rvm/log/ruby-1.9.2-p180$ sudo apt-get -y install ruby1.9.1-dev Reading package lists... I don't know why the hell beef is being initialized during the compilation. Did I break Back Box? ... EDIT: After further review of the log... I found that ossl_ssl is probably the culprit. That said, is there a certain package I need to obtain that... I Googled ossl_ssl and ossl and I got a couple of different options... one is OSSL texture draw and the other leads me to openSSL; which one should I get?
  8. ... Armitage works... Which is surprising because my .yml wasn't configured. Must be the 4.5.0 update. I guess I will take Mudges version of the gui . Msfconsole is working too! Oddly enough; the gui is still failing... strange brew, ey?
  9. After Googling the issue, I found that there is no real answer to my issue (from Metasploits end, anyway.). I recently had the msfgui crash on me. Now, when I try to bring it back up, I get this error... __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Dec 15, 2012 8:08:21 AM org.jdesktop.application.Application$1 run SEVERE: Application class msfgui.MsfguiApp failed to launch java.lang.NullPointerException at msfgui.MsfFrame.setLnF(MsfFrame.java:29) at msfgui.MainFrame.<init>(MainFrame.java:49) at msfgui.MsfguiApp.startup(MsfguiApp.java:126) at org.jdesktop.application.Application$1.run(Application.java:171) at java.awt.event.InvocationEvent.dispatch(Unknown Source) at java.awt.EventQueue.dispatchEventImpl(Unknown Source) at java.awt.EventQueue.access$000(Unknown Source) at java.awt.EventQueue$3.run(Unknown Source) at java.awt.EventQueue$3.run(Unknown Source) at java.security.AccessController.doPrivileged(Native Method) at java.security.ProtectionDomain$1.doIntersectionPrivilege(Unknown Source) at java.awt.EventQueue.dispatchEvent(Unknown Source) at java.awt.EventDispatchThread.pumpOneEventForFilters(Unknown Source) at java.awt.EventDispatchThread.pumpEventsForFilter(Unknown Source) at java.awt.EventDispatchThread.pumpEventsForHierarchy(Unknown Source) at java.awt.EventDispatchThread.pumpEvents(Unknown Source) at java.awt.EventDispatchThread.pumpEvents(Unknown Source) at java.awt.EventDispatchThread.run(Unknown Source) Exception in thread "AWT-EventQueue-0" java.lang.Error: Application class msfgui.MsfguiApp failed to launch at org.jdesktop.application.Application$1.run(Application.java:177) at java.awt.event.InvocationEvent.dispatch(Unknown Source) at java.awt.EventQueue.dispatchEventImpl(Unknown Source) at java.awt.EventQueue.access$000(Unknown Source) at java.awt.EventQueue$3.run(Unknown Source) at java.awt.EventQueue$3.run(Unknown Source) at java.security.AccessController.doPrivileged(Native Method) at java.security.ProtectionDomain$1.doIntersectionPrivilege(Unknown Source) at java.awt.EventQueue.dispatchEvent(Unknown Source) at java.awt.EventDispatchThread.pumpOneEventForFilters(Unknown Source) at java.awt.EventDispatchThread.pumpEventsForFilter(Unknown Source) at java.awt.EventDispatchThread.pumpEventsForHierarchy(Unknown Source) at java.awt.EventDispatchThread.pumpEvents(Unknown Source) at java.awt.EventDispatchThread.pumpEvents(Unknown Source) at java.awt.EventDispatchThread.run(Unknown Source) Caused by: java.lang.NullPointerException at msfgui.MsfFrame.setLnF(MsfFrame.java:29) at msfgui.MainFrame.<init>(MainFrame.java:49) at msfgui.MsfguiApp.startup(MsfguiApp.java:126) at org.jdesktop.application.Application$1.run(Application.java:171) ... 14 more _________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ I do not know what caused the issue (besides a Java event, of course). But, whenever I go to start the msfgui with sudo (~$sudo msfgui ), this error pops up every time. I deleted it and reinstalled it, but no change... Any help would be appreciated!
  10. I was hoping someone else would have hopped in here to assist, too. But, unless they are crazy busy, I can't help but wonder if this is what they would have assumed the problem to be. But, I got one more trick up my sleeve. Go ahead and take this question to http://www.spiceworks.com/ This is a free online help desk. I have learned the Gospel from them. Give it a try...
  11. Good ol' wiki read... thanks, AGAIN, Digip... ;P
  12. I am glad that the US isn't alone on this. Imagine if the UN got their way... (shuddering)
  13. Well, if anyone is interested... I have the ebook... PM me if ya want it! (.PDF Form, Virii free :) )
  14. Can you check any "equalizers" that you may have? For instance, maybe a graphical sound board that acts as an equalizer? Perhaps, the audio for that specific channel got turned down. Since it plays the music, sound effects, etc., it sounds like something got tweaked incorrectly.
  15. I appreciate you explaining it, Digip. I was all over the website and could not find what it was improving upon. My next question would be, "Does it also read whether or not it was pirated?"... or does the word "compromise" mean remote entry from malicious attackers? Sorry for more questions... but I am just making sure my head is wrapped around it :)
  16. http://www.foxnews.c...et-regulations/ Let's hope this lasts, huh? A document said to be the current version of the U.N. resolution has been leaked online. It states: “All governments should have an equal role and responsibility for international Internet governance and for ensuring the stability, security and continuity of the existing Internet.” (Foxnews.com)
  17. OK... if you can somehow have his wife enable debugging... then you have a chance. You need to enable debugging. It sounds to me his wife caught him cheating... lol. She is really pissed!
  18. This isn't open source, huh? I looked at the website and saw nothing about GNU. The Unified Extensible Firmware Interface "answered" a few questions... yet I can't discern how it will improve user experience (http://www.uefi.org/about/). Kind of confusing. It is a bootloader from what the site says... still, I do not see the problem with the ones of nowadays.
  19. My password is.... 1 2 4 4 5 The same one on my luggage...
  20. Hmmm... 404 error... those are always fun! Anywhoo... if you are getting a 404; it sounds like something isn't configured right.
  21. You know... it is basically like all the other distros... I like it.. but hell... I like em all :D
  22. Usually, Google in particular, has a really easy recovery process. Did he register AND validate his email by another email account or a phone call? Also, I am not sure if I understanding you fully; my apologies... but what do you mean by "block". Are you saying that it is password protected? Answer: Google Cosplay and buy an OTG wire. *.Assuming you have 100 % ownership.* If it is not password protected, and it is being "monitored"... then that is a totally different story. That would violate laws in certain places in the world; but there are tons of monitoring programs anyhow...
  23. Unsure about the first question... but the second... http://security.stackexchange.com/questions/10032/protecting-yourself-against-dns-spoofing ... This will give you an idea... but SSL strip is the only way I know of... and nowadays... SSL strip is hit or miss.
