    telnet stuff

No. No you don't. I've seen you repeatedly ask questions here that you could so easily find the answers to on the very first page of a google search. If you actually bothered to look for yourself you wouldn't be on the wrong end of a flaming thread. We're happy to help each other, but when someone can't actually take 10 seconds to type in a query to a search engine and they refuse to do their own research repeatedly it tends to piss people off. If something *clearly* isn't available on Google or is a little difficult to find or understand, that's a great situation to ask here, or if opinions are required. For simple facts thoughGoogle and Wikipedia are the place to go. Oh, and quit insulting people, it makes you look even worse. Well said as usual Moonlit. Char-broiled n00bs are not good, not matter how much bbq sauce or flavorings you put on them. And hakgipc careful how you attack people, because you may end up banned from the network all together AGAIN. kthnxbye.
  2. Shouldn't that be 508 hosts? Perfect - it's crystallising for me now! Thank you. Thanks for catching my error :) I knew when I posted I would make an error due to being overly tired.... :)
  3. http://www.solarwinds.net/products/freetoo...aspx#SubNetCalc is a great windows based subnet calculator. Advanced IP Address Calculator v1.1 from http://www.radmin.com/download/ipcalc11.exe is another one. I took CCNA prep classes so I know how to do it by hand, but when there are tools freely available I use these when I want to know something quick and easy. Yes you can use non-standard subnets on private networks. I use 255.255.254.0 as a subnet to one network to allow up to 510 hosts, since you can't use 0 and 255 on both networks. so... in my setup we use 192.168.2.0 with a subnet of 255.255.254.0, which gives us the network range of 192.168.2.0-192.168.3.255 . Keep in mind that non-standard subnet masks are not always supported. Linksys wrt routers are an example... they simply don't work well with that network scheme.
  4. actually you sorta can... Click on Memberlist, then scroll to the bottom and click sort by Total posts, then select Descending. That'll give you the list.
  5. Here is my desktop... cleaned up a bit from the last time I posted many months ago.
  6. Remember, its not really about quantity, its more about QUALITY. Unfortunately not many people seem to remember that little, but important thing regarding posts. I've been here for a long time and have only accumulated 250ish posts.

  9. try making sure your cookies/cache are cleared... this happens to me on occasion as well and clearing my cache and cookies usually fixes it.
  10. I'm willing to help... only problem is I have no ircd admin experience... so I'd need assistance in trying to keep it running smoothly. And thanks Darren for answering our question... oh and btw: [23:54] * Brainkill changes topic to '<Brainkill> IRC server is going to be worked on anywhere within 24 hours from NOW by NOC technicians. They will be swapping out the old system for a new system. Downtime will be minimal, we hope. Server will be rebooted and IRC server will be rebooted aftewards.' [01:59] * OTG-Brainkill changes topic to 'Server was down this morning till 4 AM EST. Thanks for your cooperation'
  11. This reminds me again... Darren, When exactly were we supposed to move to another server? I don't know about you but Im kinda tired of vertex hosting and their botnet network that they apparently host. -Manuel

I don't intend to roast you like a marshmallow on an open flame, but have you tried google?
  19. IF I read that correctly, newer macs cannot boot into OS9, however if you must have it, you can INSTALL (not Download) the OS9 package from teh installer CD (if you can still find it). In this state, its called classic support. In 10.4.x (if I remember correctly) they didnt include the .dmg that installs OS9.
  20. Interesting concept aint it? Its probably RSS. All of this tv stuff is run by computers, so it could be simply passing in the xhtml from the RSS feed which had an error at that point. :P
  21. By Golly, I think you've stumbled onto somthing there, Moonlit. hmmm /me thinks the odors of dead threads is getting pretty rank right about now...

    HELP!

You are right indeed. You have no clue. Admitting that is the first step to any addiction, be it real or in your head.
