  1. You do have your computer's ip address set to 172.16.42.42 right?
  2. Mine stay on. Forgot I had one charging overnight once. Green light after 20 hours of charging. The chargers aren't the best quality. One of mine make an ungodly high pitched squeal and the led flashes red/green, I don't use that one....
  3. 21 + 9 X 10 = 300 -9 = 291 feet. That's not counting how far down the hallway the switch is from the elevator, or slack loops. You're really close to the limit. You can go over the limit(you shouldn't), but you're running into degraded signal territory. If you can get your hands on a fluke linkrunner you'll be able to test the cables for shorts, crosses and total length. They're not cheap, but they're worth it. Also something to look at, from what I've seen from elevator shafts, your cables are probably in the same bundle of wire as the car's electric supply cables. That long of a run next to ac lines is probably inducing quite a bit of voltage and noise into your data cables. If it was up to me, I'd install fiber media converters on the car and the top of the shaft. That will get rid of your length problem and electrical noise problem.

    Raid5 Vmware

Did you really just reply to a four year dead thread?
  5. ifconfig wlan2 up works for me. It's not an alpha, but it is an atheros chipset. The athX, wlanX, ethX designation isn't set, it depends on the operating system.
  6. Just for giggles. My laptop has two internal pci wifi cards, an atheros, and a broadcom. Then I stuck on four usb cards, an alpha clone, and three rtl-somethings, then fired up kismet.
  7. I really really hope you mean macbook pro.
  8. It's also licensed spectrum. Unless you are a cell provider, it's illegal to broadcast at those frenquencies. Then even if you are a provider, it's still against your license to jam other licensees. You'd face fines, and maybe having your license revoked.
  9. You mean like one of these? http://www.amazon.com/Speed-Sensor-Baseball-MPH-Markwort/dp/B000BX4O0I
  10. I wouldn't use a mk5 for a repeater. It's wifi isn't fast enough for that purpose. Personally I'm not a fan of repeaters in the first place. They just slow down the network.
  11. I couldn't last night. Flashed back to 1.2 so I could use it today. I'll flash back in a few minutes and try again. Well crap. It's working now. Nothing to see here, move along!
  12. Looks like 1.3.0 broke the infusion. I can start it, but if I click on the list view or the map view it locks up the browser. I also can't connect to it remotely from another device on the network.
  13. Look at the karma config on the latest firmware, you can point it to a file on your sd card so if you lose power you still have the log.
  14. Check your configs. There should be a setting on the client side to route all traffic through the tunnel. As it is now, only traffic that needs your home network will go through the tunnel, everything else goes over the normal network.

  16. If she did, she's smarter than the average mom!
  17. Correct! So your laptop/desktop should be set up like so, eth0 set in monitor hooked to either "sniff" port, eth1 set to monitor hooked to the other "sniff" port. The tap will be placed inline between the switch and computer you want to monitor. From there you set wireshark to listen to both ports.
  18. But it does. Your browser sees you're trying to go to a secure site, so it checks the site to see if it has a certificate. If it doesn't get a proper response it won't display the page.
  19. Uh, no. Unless you have permission, written permission it best, it's illegal. PERIOD!
  20. Built in pci wifi cards don't work with virtual machines. They will show as a standard wired network card to the VM. USB network cards will work though, both wired and wireless.
  21. The get infusion has been broken for a while. It's up to its developer to fix.

  23. No. The whole point of https is to secure the site. If browsers just ignored that the site's ssl cert isn't getting passed there'd be no point of secure sites to begin with.
