  1. Huh? Metaphor and simile can often be translated, especially simile. In the case they can't then another phrase with a similar meaning can be used in its place. I'm not really sure what your argument is, since obviously hundreds of movies and TV shows are subtitled in other languages every day.
  2. I agree with Sparda, the only sensible course of action here is for your friend to murder his father in his bed with a hammer.

    FreeNAS Problem

What would be the best post?
  4. Yes, it would be quite useful if you would say what your problem is here, I can't be bothered to download that unless I know I might be able to do anything about it.
  5. Probably the same people who get caught with child porn because they paid for it using their credit card (although incidentally quite a number of people have had a lot of trouble because their credit card was used without them knowing to buy child porn and then the UK police handled stuff gleaned from Operation Ore like idiots by not actually investigating if the credit card owners had actually accessed child porn or not, unlike the US police who in this case were (perhaps unusually?) a lot smarter).
  6. Definitely not in the case of live shows.
  7. Well, downloading a copy of something you own usually is illegal to start with, especially if it's a different version. However if you did somehow legitimately have a version that could be installed on a PC the EULA wouldn't really make a difference. It wouldn't be illegal anyway, Apple could take you to court for breach of contract possibly, but that's a civil matter.

    DRMA

Usually the site they are on holds the copyright (if they didn't get them illegally from somewhere else) so try emailing the webmaster of the site (if you're using Google the site is obviously the one you see in the lower frame when you click the thumbnail), and no it isn't legal unless you get their permission.
  9. Actually it's far better to download high quality porn illegally from Empornium or Cheggit.
  10. Well, you can't make a "simple cable" to convert from IDE to USB, all the adaptor cables you can buy have IDE controllers in the IDE connector end. Edit: Damn, beaten to it by 27 seconds.
  11. You could try rentacoder.com if you actually want your own shop designed from scratch, tons of Indians, Chinese and Eastern Europeans on there who are fairly cheap. Make sure they speak decent English before you hire them (and that they have a good rating).
  12. lol kinda odd that u know that, kinda odd that i know that... but i do agree, there normaly the ones to spam the crap outta ya.. or virus, wither way. Why is that odd? He's a male with Internet access.
  13. I think you need to find a new C++ teacher.
  14. You know it would help if you said what the problem actually was. And posted some readable code. Your main problem is it's poorly designed and written.
  15. i didn't write the page, I just agree with most of his comments. Have you read this? It's slightly outdated, but still fairly valid. Edit: Also http://www.techspot.com/vb/topic44405.html
  16. Actually in the UK you are allowed to eat both lions and unicorns.
  17. Mmm, digip, the site you link to in your sig uses a lot of straw men and some flawed arguments. I agree with parts of what he says, but some of the stuff on there just makes that page pathetic.
  18. Incidentally you must have told FreeBSD to overwrite the MBR, because it does ask you if you want it to.
  19. Well, I don't think they'll win to be honest.
  20. You speak false claims about DRM?
  21. DRM is worse than Hitler!!!!!!111
  22. That seems like a good way to get hit by a car. That could damage your laptop, too.
  23. Well, the camera is useful if you happen to see something you want to take a photo of and you don't happen to carry a camera with you, which most people don't
  24. I'd just like to point out that every install of windows I've ever done has worked the first time. Of course, almost all hardware is thoroughly tested with and has drivers written for Windows by the hardware vendor.
  25. I think I'd agree, it took me about 5 attempts (spaced out over a few years) before I got Linux working, but the first time I ever installed FreeBSD it just worked.
