How about you set up your own network, take certification and learn how to secure it, and then try to break in yourself? I think DHCP is the better option, just be wary of the box getting moved to a different subnet if your school is big enough.

Any company with half a brain will have that clause in there Systems user agreement IMO. My last job had this , and it wasn't very well enforced which sucked. I have had to rebuild many machines and 995 of them either have porn, movies or music on them. I sued to give people a chance to back them up but soon got sick of it because they don't stop doing it. If I find it, it gets blown away and i report it. I'm not risking my job to save somebody else's.

I would definitely be setting up a domain to authenticate against, and provide them a network share as a home drive and set up small sized roaming profiles just in case a machine craps out and they have to use another one.

I haven't set one up but I will check our documentation at work tomorrow if I get a chance, we use it to do rebuilds on all of our machines.

Well today everything was tried apart form deleting her account. Tomorrow I think I will archive her mail, backup her roaming profile and home drive, then delete her account from Active Directory and recreate it.
