  1. Don't know if you have tried this or not, but try running format with a single line "-" rather than two lines "--". ./john -format=MD5 pwd.txt Also make sure you have a ":" instead of "=", very important you pay close attention to these details or it won't work. ./john -format:MD5 pwd.txt
  2. Members of LulzSec appear to have rallied around Anonymous with both the group, and some LulzSec members claiming they were now with Anonymous. Very interesting move!!!! Source
  3. I use Crark to recover .RAR, the nice thing about this utility is that it uses the CUDA architecture to speed up the recovery process. http://www.crark.net/ On the other side of the scale we have ElcomSoft, cracks almost anything but its not free.
  4. Don't think you will be able to find a consumer router that has bluetooth unless as stated by Norwat, that could work. If you don't mind me asking, why do you want bluetooth on a router for, isn't WI-FI already sufficient?
  5. Not a bad set up and from a electricity point of view very economic in deed. In the future, I plan on running my IT equipment of an off-grid solar system. So I should cut down the electrical cost by a bit. I haven't done the math yet, but that should be cost reduction.
  6. The social engineering: the art of human hacking is definitely a book I will be buying. As for the tool side of things look into Maltego, http://www.paterva.com/web5/
  7. Agree that's the only issue for me too, that long haul flight.
  8. You never know, the feds could also request access to the information through warrants. Then they can't really say no!
  9. Check out Dexpot, it may be what you are after.
  10. You could rewrite the software and use it as a Pineapple. Or sell it in Ebay.
  11. Exactly, for now they will have to keep a low profile until things are calm so that they can resurface as someone else or as themselves but for now we have to wait and see what's gonna happen.
  12. The computer hacking group LulzSec said Saturday it had ended its campaign of cyberassaults on government and corporate websites and that it was time for it to "sail into the distance." Source: http://www.computerworld.com/s/article/9217938/LulzSec_calls_it_quits_after_50_days_of_mayhem_ I wonder whether they would ever return under a different name...
  13. I could go with Asymmetric ADSL, where I could get 10MBps up/down. But its intended for business and even if i did subscribed for it, I could be up for a several hundred dollars. Not cheap! In addition, you also need a router/modem that supports Asymmetric ADSL, which would also cost a couple of hundred dollars.
  14. You can use MKV containers. http://www.divx.com/en/software/divx-plus/codec-pack/mkv
  15. You have been working on a Ruby project that involves building a vulnerability scanner? Also you have a Youtube account but it doesn't seem to have any videos linked to it I also have found logs of your IRC chats, on michaelgreb.com and your nickname is bigmac And have to agree with Digip that your ISP is Comcast. On a side note, do you own a domain called www.i8igmac.com
  16. Something I forgot to mention, never use Hibernation. Putting your computer into “hibernation” mode creates a snapshot of the contents of your computers RAM which is then saved to your hard drive as “hiberfil.sys”? This is bad, because if I were a forensics investigator, I could find out a lot about you. Read this article to understand more about its implications. http://www.anti-forensics.com/the-risks-of-windows-hibernation-the-hiberfil-sys-and-web-browsing
  17. If you want to image a computer over the network look into these technologies RIS or SCCM. Also read through these articles to understand the process of how it works. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/298750 Installing RIS on a windows server 2003
  18. The only interfaces you will get out of conventional routers are USB and Ethernet ports. If you need E-sata you better build your own router, the choices for a router software are PFsense or Untangle.
  19. If you want parallel processing power, I would go with what Mr-Protocol suggested. Buy some Nvidia graphics card and utilize their CUDA architecture. They can offer a lot more raw power than CPUs alone.
  20. You can use CloneZilla to create an exact image of your hard drive and for data compression you could use 7-Zip or TUGZip.
  21. Don't you worry mate, you didn't offend me in any way. You were right in asking me on whether I was certified or not. Anyone else would've done that, so don't take it personally. Edit: Nice technique by the way... Never thought about that before, thanks for sharing tough
  22. I do live in Australia but I am not from Adelaide. Adelaide is where my ISP is based. FYI, I don't claim to be a Microsoft MCP certified, on the contrary I am certified and have been provided with the Microsoft Certificate of Excellence. Moreover, the reason the MCP pic links to an unknown site, is because my Hak5 account doesn't have enough storage space to allow me to upload it. Furthermore, I never heard of Logicalsolutionsllc.com, it may be linked to another user called Infiltrator. By the way, how did you know I live in Australia, I could be living in another country.
  23. Even with my Internode account I can only achieve 85KBps, I'm soon gonna be buying a wireless gateway from Telstra, where I can achieve 3Mbps or 300KBps. That should be enough for what I do.
  24. That's why I am not much into this whole social networking sites. I don't like living too many digital footprints behind.
  25. Not sure about Optus, but Telstra and Internode allow its users to run their own virtual servers. Edit: This should answer your question, http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/archive/1150507
