  3. You could flush your router with either one DD-WRT or Open-WRT firmwares, if it doesn't have the option to clone your MAC address. But your router will need to be supported or otherwise the firmware won't work.
  4. Yeahh, very cheap but you get almost everything in one package, like Mail (Exchange), Webserver, Wordpress (sharepoint) and lots more. Whereas with Microsoft you have to buy 2 or 3 different OSes, to do different roles.
  5. Agree, will have to get my hands on it and test it out to see how well it performs against Microsoft Server Products.

  8. You can definitely use squid to block a specific user or computer on the network from accessing a particular website. This wiki has lots of info on how to achieve that, I would suggesting going through it and if you need help just hit me http://wiki.squid-cache.org/SquidFaq/SquidAcl#head-ef469ed90b785ebb496c66523bb69030e0b7c906
  9. I agree with 555, to get into a computer security field you need to have an understanding of how network works. Getting a CCNA certification, would be your starting point, from there I would move onto security. But first I would suggest getting some experience with networking, as 555 pointed out. Practicing and willing to learn new things, will get in the direction you want to go. Good luck.
  10. What proxy are you using? Microsoft Proxy or Squid? If you are using Squid, you can create an ACL (access control list) to block a particular site for a particular user.

  14. Write some kind of program that, eats up all the operating system physical memory or CPU usage, whenever it's started. That should slow down the computer to a chaos or even result it in a crash.
  15. Glad could help, if you need further assistance do not hesitate. Good luck...
  16. The default ip address for your Belkin router should be 192.168.2.1 If it doesn't work, hit me with its model and I can find it out for you.
  17. xHydra should do the job, however you will need a decent wordlist, if you want to be successful. Head over to this website and compile your own password file. http://www.skullsecurity.org/wiki/index.php/Passwords#Password_dictionaries
  18. Hey h4ckfreak, Read the other thread, I just gave you the solution.
  19. If worse comes to worse, and he is not allowed to reset the modem back to default, brute forcing would be the bet. Alternatively he could try contacting the person who set up the modem for his father and ask for the password.
  20. If I were you, I would do a Google search for "HTTP brute force tools". I am very sure you will find the tool you need. Beware that you will need to disable any security essential that you might have running on your PC, or otherwise you will get you AVs flagging it off. In addition, try running these tools in a virtual machine if you can.
  21. Very simple to set up, all you need are: 1) Apache (webserver, http://apache.org) 2) PHP (interpreter, http://php.net) 3) OpenSSL (openSSL, http://openSSL.org) 4) An operating system like Windows or Linux. 1st set up Apache with PHP, this article has a nice walk through http://www.thesitewizard.com/php/install-php-5-apache-windows.shtml 2sd, setting up OpenSSL with Apache. http://tud.at/programm/apache-ssl-win32-howto.php3 Once you have the above set up and configured, drop in the PHproxy files into a directory in Apache where you can access it from outside. Good luck..
  22. DHCP Exhaustion, if you can exhaust the pool than no client will be able to authenticate to the network. http://www.digininja.org/metasploit/dns_dhcp.php
  23. This quote is quite concerning! What is interesting (and worrying) is what ElcomSoft found stored inside the iPhone. According to them “iPhone devices store or cache humungous amounts of information about how, when, and where the device has been used. The amount of sensitive information collected and stored in Apple smartphones is beyond what had previously been imaginable. Pictures, emails and text messages included deleted ones, calls placed and received are just a few things to mention. A comprehensive history of user’s locations complete with geographic coordinates and timestamps. Google maps and routes ever accessed. Web browsing history and browser cache, screen shots of applications being used, usernames, Web site passwords and the password to iPhone backups made with iTunes software, and just about everything typed on the iPhone is being cached by the device.”
  24. ElcomSoft have succeeded in decrypting the iPhone’s encrypted file system under iOS 4 and are making it available exclusively to law enforcement, forensic and intelligence agencies. Read more: http://www.livehacking.com/2011/05/31/elcomsoft-breaks-ios-4-encryption-offers-new-forensic-service/
  25. Very nice project in deed, it could become handy for a lot of things.
