  1. You don't create a new md5 sum, you check the md5 with what they post on the firmware page. So from your computer, or pineapple; barry@NSA-Unit1:~/Downloads$ md5sum upgrade.bin 30a58988e679b45a4744c7a358845f3e upgrade.bin The site shows this. Released: 2014-04-09 21:25:07 Download: 1.3.0-BETA-2 MD5: 30a58988e679b45a4744c7a358845f3e The MD5's match, so your download didn't get borked, which means the flash will work. I've actually had linux iso's get slightly mangled, but would work as a live cd, but would fail every time you tried to use it to do a full install.
  2. The cat5 adapters require power on both ends I believe.
  3. Use microwave rated parts or you'll be very disappointed with your antennas.
  4. http://digiex.net/downloads/download-center-2-0/applications/6498-kon-boot-password-utility-free-version.html I use this all the time for clients. http://home.eunet.no/~pnordahl/ntpasswd/
  5. Hey! I resemble that remark! We're in the process of migrating a few of our clients over to Win7 machines. Finally got them to convert. Only been suggesting it for the last few years. What's real fun is running into those weird niche applications that are 6 years past their company folding and still have to support it, that won't run on 7.... Good times.
  6. Hey guys. I can't get karma to log anything. I've set the log location to be /sd/logs/ but nothing is written. I see karma info in the normal syslog though.
  7. Yea, both mine are warped slightly. Shouldn't be a problem. Mine don't warm up when charging either.
  8. Woot! Set it on the roof. Actually on the chimney cover. Puts it about 30 feet off the ground. Here's what I'm seeing.
  9. Pretty much. OP will need a separate radio for each antenna. We used to do this back in the wardriving days, then tell kismet to only scan certain channels on different radios. That way you were scanning all channels at the same time, or close to the same time.
  10. Doesn't surprise me. Can she use chrome or firefox for the banking site? I'm guessing it's the outdated internet exploder that's being blocked, and not xp.
  11. As long as you don't reset your dns spoof settings, this should work. dnsspoof -i br-lan -f /etc/pineapple/spoofhost > /dev/null 2>/tmp/dnsspoof.log That's the command the start dnsspoof button does. So set it up the way you want, which will write your randomroll dns spoof settings, then every reboot with the dip switches set for the above command it will start.
  12. I'm actually doing the virtual machine thing today at a client.
  13. Dd works better. dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/sda . Takes longer, but you won't be getting anything back from that.
  14. Okay, I looked in my parts bin, and found enough junk to build a quarter wave ground plane antenna. Found a rp-tnc female end(what's on the antenna of a wrt-54g) and a u-fl to rp-tnc male bulkhead connector for the antenna. I followed the sizes from this pdf. Here's the connector. It ain't pretty, but the soldering holds, and that's the important part! Little(okay a lot) hot glue to keep things from moving around. The feed antenna is soldered to the pin from the u-fl connector, so it's smaller than a sewing needle. Checked with a multimeter to make sure it's not shorted. Just as a test I put it outside and just set it on the railing of my porch. My office is on the second floor, and I have my own porch! Some day I'll put a deck on it I can actually walk on.... Here's what I could see. Farthest out plane was 160 miles! My deck faces north, so that's why I'm not seeing too much to the south of me I'm actually surprised I don't see more. I'm only about 45 minutes away from Dayton international.
  15. Remove the meta-packages you don't need. http://www.kali.org/news/kali-linux-metapackages/ kali-linux-pwtools kali-linux-gpu kali-linux-forensic kali-linux-voip The above will remove about 19Gb off your drive.
  16. The problem is networkmanager may change your eth0 ip address since the pineapple is a dhcp server.
  17. Not yet. I'm on a "purchasing freeze" at the moment... :( I have built a colinier wifi antenna with lmr-400 in the past.
  18. ipsec or openvpn will be the most compatible, at least from my experience. I use openvpn for my wife's business, and ipsec at client sites. We use l2tp for static location to location vpn connections.
  19. For the most part I've never really hidden where I live. I mean, look at my handle. It had my zipcode! This postcard didn't make it, but he put it back in an envelope and sent it to the school district where I worked, just my first name, made it to my desk. This was back when the netstumbler forums was the place to be.
