magic quotes doesn't exist in PHP6, so if you rely on magic quotes, your code is fucked when PHP6 is out. Plus you should always code as if magic quotes is off.

Reverse engineering is not illegal in the UK and US. You are allowed to reverse engineer for the purposes of education and interoperability. You cannot however reverse engineer to break any DMCA licensing or copyright.
