Very odd problem causing me to reset twice in a day now
sud0nick replied to sotiria's topic in WiFi Pineapple NANO
hmm, that's weird. You can try emailing shop@hak5.org and see if they'll replace your unit assuming you have tried everything within reason. -

So you just immediately reset it when this happens? Mine has done this a couple of times but I just unplug it and and plug it back in, then it's good. -
Question Regarding Adding SSL to Interface
sud0nick replied to IMcPwn's topic in WiFi Pineapple NANO
Not yet. Once it's available in the next firmware update/release my module Papers will be released and you can easily add HTTPS that way. -
Don't confuse what I said. Symlinks can help. nodogsplash pulls from /etc/nodogsplash/htdocs/ and allows the user to access the /www/ directory. If you symlink htdocs to the SD card then you can store everything on the SD card.
-
This is why peer review is so important. As i8igmac stated it would be great if there was a place to post your crypto code for wide scale peer review. Maybe there is a place but I haven't looked.
-
Also symlinks are your friend.

nginx doesn't have access to your usb device (rather the user accessing the web page doesn't have access to it) so you won't be able to pull files that way. Look at the conversation in this thread about how your directory structure should be for nodogsplash. It should help you out. If you use a MKV you can just grab a copy of PortalAuth, clone a portal, and see how it's set up. Eventually I'll get the time to move it to the NANO and TETRA. Once you have your directories for your portals you can easily swap them in and out of /etc/nodogsplash/htdocs/ to change the portal that gets displayed. You should be accessing everything from the images/ directory with the $imagesdir variable. Edit: Also check out the nodogsplash wiki.

Yeah but even Vincent Rijman and John Daemen had to start somewhere. It may not be secure the first time but if you can eventually make a strong cipher/algorithm/encryption standard it would be worth it.

which infusion to keylog passwords, besides sslstripping
sud0nick replied to ghostheadx2's topic in WiFi Pineapple Mark V
Not easily. What I described is phishing and not sniffing but phones still have web browsers so this attack could work. If they use a mobile app you won't be able to rely on a captive portal. -
Inventing your own can be a great learning experience, though. I'm currently working through "Implementing SSL / TLS Using Cryptography and PKI" by Joshua Davies and it's pretty awesome to see how different algorithms are implemented even if it is a bit dense at times.

I think my "weird inclusions" are no one's business but my own, Seb...
-
That's weird...it caused my code not to work earlier. Once I added it everything was fine.

Found a little bug. In the module.php file in the Extras directory there is no closing PHP tag: ?>
-
Well not all. I get my Nano today so I'll start working on my modules.

Introducing the WiFi Pineapple TETRA
sud0nick replied to Darren Kitchen's topic in WiFi Pineapple TETRA
I triple-dog dare you. -
I don't understand what I would use this for. If I'm going to run a server, and require it be mobile, why not save the money and use a VM on your laptop? I guess you could build a server for malicious stuffs and try to use this in conjunction with the Pineapple but I don't think it would be worth it to spend $150 for that.
-
Cooper's obviously in on it, too.
-
Yeah, hurry up you lazy bum.
-
Hmm, contradicting statements. I think you're trying to trick us. Maybe I've learned all I need to know to figure out the Hak5 RSS quantum conspiracy and you're trying to throw me off the scent. I'm on to you Snubs.

Shipping Delay for WiFi Pineapple TETRA
sud0nick replied to Darren Kitchen's topic in WiFi Pineapple TETRA
Thanks for the update, Darren. My impatience got the best of me and I bought a Nano anyway. I normally wouldn't do something like that but I think the whole Hak5 team deserves the support so an extra $99 isn't a big deal. -
Shipping Delay for WiFi Pineapple TETRA
sud0nick replied to Darren Kitchen's topic in WiFi Pineapple TETRA
Yes but it's around the 18th which is what Darren stated. I'm hoping for at least an update on if the shipment is still arriving on time and when we can expect them to be shipped to those who have purchased one. -

Any word on the Tetras? I've got modules to port. -
[Release] 2.4.0 - Codename: Tractosaurus Rex!
sud0nick replied to Sebkinne's topic in WiFi Pineapple Mark V
To be fair, they did this with the Tetra which is why I didn't buy the Nano. It doesn't seem realistic that a company would be able to tell their customers a new product is coming 6 months in advance when they aren't even sure of a release time yet or if their new device is even going to function properly. I for one am happy with Hak5's transparency about their products. -
It's a good idea. I did this very thing in my infusion Crafty which serves as an interface for hping3. It's definitely possible but may take some effort if you are trying to put all of the commands from different modules into one. I think it's easier for each developer to add it to their own module but you can't really make them do that. Sidebar fun fact: Microsoft started doing this on Server 2012 with their Active Directory Administrative Center. Every time you do something in the GUI (i.e. create/remove/modify a user/computer, etc.) the equivalent PowerShell command is displayed so you can script it later. It helps admins learn how to use PowerShell while performing daily tasks in the GUI.

Since we truly can't know its state without opening the box (yet Snubs seems to know it is both up and down) I'm guessing she opened the box and found the RSS feed immersed in some strange quantum state. I would like to see an episode on how Hak5 achieved this as it appears to be a major breakthrough in the world of computer science.
