  1. I agree they get hot.... But did you try to bring it down first before changing it? ifconfig wlan1 down Then set power then ifconfig wlan1 up
  2. Try iwconfig wlan1 txpower 20dBm Comes from this thread: https://forums.hak5.org/index.php?/topic/30748-txpower-woes/?p=231588
  3. Nobody responded to my post above.... Anyone else seeing these errors in their syslog? Is it normal? 13:30:30 Pineapple daemon.warn dnsmasq-dhcp[1798]: no address range available for DHCP request via wlan1
  4. I see what you're asking but I don't know that the pineapple does that unless it's a function of say airodump-ng that I'm not familiar with. Normally you attach to the unencrypted wireless and run tcpdump... You can check out the pcap files latter in wireshark.
  5. Connected to what? How? Do you have any installed already and its not finding them or are you trying to install them? If you have wlan1 connected via Client Mode and you can browse websites you should be able to get pineapple bar updates.
  6. There's an entire thread about sslstrip. I can get it to work but not to stop without a reboot. Sebkinne said he's working on a cleanup script...
  7. When you say steps are you talking about the flashing instructions for the Mk5?
  8. Ok.. I think you're actually serious with that question.... Kinda scared right now.... :) Seriously though it depends on your OS and is a fundamental aspect of networking. I'm going to assume you're on Windows. I searched Google for "how to set a static IP address" http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/19249/how-to-assign-a-static-ip-address-in-xp-vista-or-windows-7/
  9. Where's your wlan1 and why are you even using the script? Is there some particular reason you want to hook up using the eth0 port? The new paradigm with the Mark 5 is to use wlan1 for Client Mode and have it connect to your internet enabled AP. I'm not saying you can't use the script but if you haven't even tried the new way you're causing yourself the headache...
  10. Random Roll is working. Why don't you have your troll?
  11. Airodump-ng is not something I usually run Fromm my pineapple. Wash yes airodump no. Can't confirm or deny.
  12. What about wlan1? Try it and see if you have the same issue. The reason I ask is usually it's driver related...
  13. I may be half drunk right now but I'm still lost as to what that even means.... Inside joke?
  14. In 1.0.1 I'm just going to have to wait for the cleanup script Seb is working on. I've messed with it enough that I can get it to start (and collect info) but I can't get it to stop and it only allows traffic through to https sites. All common issues before the firmware update.. but none of the fixes used before has worked so far. A reboot sets everything back to normal routing.
  15. That's great... After yesterdays bar update it wiped it again. Was going to do it this evening but thanks to you now it's just built in. I know it's something simple but I always want to see that time up there correct even if I'm not connected via client mode and more importantly I want any logs produced in that configuration to be accurate as well.
  16. Looks like ifconfig is working without it connected. Try hooking it up and showing us the output of ifconfig. Also, you could show us what your /etc/config/wireless file has in it after you hook it up...
  17. I'm seeing something funny in my syslog... any idea what all those 1798 errors are about? If wlan1 is busy (as mine is with client mode) what's trying to request DHCP from it?? By the way Seb, nice signature bar update... :) Very useful links.
  18. Applied this again after update to 1.0.1 firmware and it's still working. :)
  19. I never used the word "bug". I said broken and fixable.... I completely agree the update was a great success! Thanks for all your efforts and hard work. I know we bug you a lot but you always seem to be working on everything at once in the background. And then out of the blue a firmware update. :)
  20. There's definitely something going on in the RR functions.php file. My favorite roll AfroCircus kept refusing to load but a quick change from 'afro' to 'afroroll' seems to have fixed that.... As for the login page issue Seb of course provided the fix. :) Edit: Sniped out my incorrect assumptions/ramblings on what was causing it.
  21. That issue is with Random Roll not with Karma. Karma works as good as it did before. For some reason even if Blacklist my Laptop's MAC, if I go up and hover over the wifi icon in OSX it will update the list of available APs, I get my laptops other networks showing up i.e. I'm getting Karma'd. I guess in doing that hover I'm manually sending out probe requests but I've black listed my MAC so I thought that shouldn't happen. Of course this was happening before 1.0.1 so it's not surprising that it's still happening.
  22. There's always going to be something craig, dive in.... A few observations so far: After flashing/install complete I reformated my sd card via the proper tile. Then proceeded to "reinstall" infusions. Found out later that my sd card wasn't formatted as all my unique files were still where I left them. I was in the process of using scp when I found this out... No need to copy to the sd card what was already there. dnsspoof (both internal spoofing and external) and urlsnarf worked right away. Mine were working before so this seems ok. But, sslstrip (which was working before) was now broken. I went through various steps and believe I have that working again. Haven't tried Random Roll yet but that's next.
  23. Just a helpful hint to those challenged few such as me... If you aren't running the default AP name before the flash it's going to default back to it after. So I kept getting this pretty light show of solid green and Red Blue Orange consecutively but my laptop never reconnected to the AP. So I clicked on the wifi icon and it refreshed the list and I then noticed the default AP being broadcasted and once I connected to that it brought me through the initial setup process and the light show ended. I'm just a bit thick tonight but in the event that this helps anyone else from creating a softbrick/mental frustration... I don't mind admitting it.
