  1. You can get USB / PS2 dongles that acts as a key logger
  2. I ended up following this guide http://winner.windowsdream.com/ and I now have XP installed :D
  3. Would this help? ho-ho ... it's a slow Friday in work
  4. Yeah I can see how it works (if I had a bunch of same/similar hardware) ... my problem is applying the image to different hardware - ideally I just want to apply an "install" image :) Thanks
  5. I'm looking for some help setting up a PXE booting server on my home network (I’ll be looking at something for business at a later date but my home network is the tester) I’ve looked a FOG and WDS and have settled on WDS which I have up and running. I found a guide that took me through syspreping an XP system I have (Was a VM) and managed to run wdscapture.exe which uploaded the XP Image to the WDS server. I then PXE booted a laptop and applied the image (laptop has no CD drive – which is the main reason I’m looking to do this) however as you’d guess it blue screened during boot. What I need rather than applying an image is simply provide the base XP install files, does anyone know how to do this? I did try running wdscapture.exe just after an the installer had copied the files to the drive, however it doesn’t see the drive volume (something to do with registry settings that only get applied after a sysprep is run)
  6. Something stupid (and you've probally checked) get yourself copied in on one of the replies and see what the message headers / plain text looks like (for her address)
  7. Try checking the users address book within outlook, delete the problematic email address and recreate it (try renaming the user). Also delete the user from the Outlooks “quick type” drop down (by typing a first few characters on their email address, then when highlighted in blue press the delete key) I’ve had a few weird issues like this myself.
  8. No ;) I know why you'd want them, but why as per the OP would you want them to resolve to different local IP's? Prehaps I'm missing something? The only reason I can them wanting to do this is for something like RDP/VNC so they can connect straight through via Hostname?
  9. Right, then my next question would be what senario would you want something like this?
  10. Would he need 2 Public IP's? Couldn't his router/firewall do some header analysis and route accordingly?

I looked at eBay, but the price of 512MB and 1GB sticks was SO low that I didn't think it was worth listing the bundles of 128MB and 256MB that I have. Currently they are just sat in a Crucial box on my shelf. I might have a little look on Google and see what some creative people have made with them.
  12. Take a peek at http://www.acronis.co.uk/backup-recovery/a...ed-workstation/
  13. I would write a document Pro's v Con's of what you are doing then send her an email, it's out of your hands then. If something goes wrong then it falls back on her for not spending some money.
  14. Have a look at some of the old Hak5 episodes. I don't know of anything specific but VM has some tools that you could use to convert a physical server to a VM, I belive this can run across a network and would at least give you some sort of backup :P
  15. "I'm getting ghost emails" - Turns out they where not medium but simply spooked by Outlooks new email alert. "Bio-metrics isn't working on my PC" - User had a Lenovo PC which has finger print stlye background and was pushing their thumb on to the monitor.
  16. You don't have a single USB drive you could use? I'd tell your managers that you need a USB drive and just be done with messing around. £50 vs Your Time.
  17. I’m trying to setup a webpage to go hand in hand with the OneClickVNC application Darren put together. I’m looking to do 2 things;- 1. Have a script running on IIS that will scan our network looking on port 5000 for all VNC listening servers. Once it has found one I’ll be able to make a specific OneClickVNC package so that the user can click either my name or my colleagues name and allow us to offer them support. 2. The second item is a modification of the above except I’d probably look at expanding the port range to 5001, 5002 e.t.c. so that we can support remote users. Does anyone know of such a script? Any thoughts on this idea / implementation
  18. Tried google? http://www.google.com/#hl=en&ei=B_LySp...6f2e8d32bd24552 or try this book http://nostarch.com/webbots.htm I belive it can be found online as a "free" ebook :P
  19. I think you'd be better off looking up AJAX. I think the guys will need to see the source in your .JS file, don't forget to remove server names, db names, users and password :P
  20. Ha :) that photo was actually taken in "Vegas" ... baby B) I don't own a hot tub nor make mega bucks... but... this is online right? my ePenis is HUGE!!!
  21. ASUS.com or Dell.com B) normally ... I live in an ideal world :D Didn't Hak5 do an article on some software you install and it rips all the custom (no window drivers) from the system? I think the system had to be in a workable (booting) order.
  22. Depends on what the client wants. If it's a large Job ($$$) I'll story board with sample layouts colourful looking icon's / buttons. Ring bind it all and send if off to the client.
  23. Yes :) there are - where are you from? What is the model of your Dell (need to check it supports USB boot) Found it OptiPlex GX620
