  1. Should have kept the mini-hawk. Other than that best piece of footage ever committed to DV-Tape.....other than Hak5 episodes ^_^
  2. too bad it doesn't matter what you think... you need to do what your 'clients' want That is true but I still can have my opinion...just like I think everyone should use firefox. You're fired, you can't tell my typewriter monkeys they can't use Internet Explorer and RealPlayer, we've used them for years. You've got a week to clear our network of this crap and all the spyware it got and then you're out. lol you know not of how true that really is my friend.
  3. I keep getting the following error page on the forums for the past 2 days. Running Windows XP with Latest Firefox in case you need that. Here is a cap of the page. http://farm1.static.flickr.com/184/3986128...cda63932c_o.jpg Anyone else getting this?
  4. First of all your going to want to work on your encode skills as it's very blocky and pixelated. I am not sure if you did a re encode to get to the .mov file but it's pretty bad. Second bring your music volume up a bit. It seems a bit weak for an intro. Intros should slap you across the face but at the same time give info about your show like hosts, title, etc. Third the title text is a bit messy. If you don't have the big editing gear like Final Cut, Premire, or Vegas try and stick with simple white on black in a good readable font. Fancy up the font if you want but stay readable at the output size. Think about tossing together a logo in the gimp or photoshop and making the image at your output resolution. This will spiff up the production value with out a lot of cost of fancy editing gear. Good things: - I really enjoyed the video clips even at the bad quality. There is definatly some usable footage there that will bring in a lot of personality. - Song choice is good but as i said kick it to 11 (not quite but you get what i mean). Things To Try: - Ask around here on the forums for some encode tips. Lots of IPTV folks in these woods so i am sure someone could at least try and help. - If you don't have the graphics skills to toss a logo together figure out your video output resolution and find someone to make one for you. Most photoshop folks get board easy and will take on little projects like this if you ask nice and have at least an idea of where your going. Hope this helps a little. If not feel free to ask more questions :)
  5. Thrift Stores are your friend my man. I got a bad ass looking black military style messenger bag that carries all my gear outside of my laptop and it only cost me 3 bucks. Or bust out your sewing skills and make away http://www.wikihow.com/Make-a-Sporty-Beach-Bag or google search http://www.google.com/search?q=How-To+make+a+t-shirt+bag
  6. I am working on 8TB in a FreeNas box :)
  7. Nope didn't steal anything. Those are all Garage Band Loops.
  8. I really like the Buntu family of distros. I have been playing a lot with Kubuntu as of late trying to get to know KDE and it's really pretty dirt simple to use and more internet based support than i think any set of distros and the people are very nice and noob friendly. Since your going with a laptop try out http://www.linux-laptop.net/ great resource for compatibility of laptop hardware and linux.
  9. Unless you are doing some hardcore video editing or like 20 track audio recording i see no reason for anything past 7200rpm drives as your main drives. The cost per gb is just to high for main storage reasons. Go with a tiny 10000 as a boot/programs drive and then go stable but cheap 7200s for storage. Honestly to me the heat issues with ultra fast drives make them a downgrade for me unless you like cases that sound like a 747 going through a NASA wind tunnel or your busting out the water cooling gear.
  10. I think i could figure this out on the mac side since the .app could be on the iPod in disk mode with your music. Launch iTunes from the iPod and update the iPod. It would take a lot of disk space but i think it would work. I have heard of people doing this with just there music but not with iTunes and musc so i am not positive of how. Plus if it's one the windows side it becomes much harder since windows doesn't have the nicely packed applications and there are more rules on where you can run things from.
  11. Beakman's World was awesome. I still watch it in reruns on Saturdays. I have a few secret IRC only names i have parodied from IPTV and as anyone who really knows me in IRC knows i like to RP as these people. ShinmaIsEmo DarrenTobler (Went bye bye after the no impersonating hosts rule :D) AskAShinma Shinmar (Indian tech support guy...It's an IRC thing) and the of course the world famous DrTikiRyuu :). I consider myself the Weird Al of IRC.
  12. First was in the Apple II family but that was just for basic messing around and Oregon Trial of course. The first time i actually accomplished some stuff was middle school using Macintosh running things like Kid Pix and Hyper Card. God i loved me some hyper card. The first computer i owned was a Computer Renaissance built Windows 95 machine. My family didn't have a lot of money when i was a kid so befriending my school's computer guy was the best thing i ever did. Learned about networking and Windows 3.1 from him as well as getting really good with the mac.
  13. You could alway run multiple custom nix builds under parallels on the macbook giving you the best of both worlds of course running windows as well for any special progs you want to run under that as well. Macbook the swiss army knife of computers :).
  14. You do know that things on TV are fake, right? Oh, and people who live on an island shouldn't really bad mouth others about "inbreeding." Remember, your all descended from a tiny amount of Europeans who migrated.... do the math. Actually i descended only half from that crew and half from the people who were already here with a little later immigration mixed in for flavor. Also i really can't respect or listen to anyone who calls me brainwashed because you obviously have 0 idea of what you speak.
  15. That was quite funny. Am i the only one who noticed Bill Gates sounded a heck of a lot like the guy that does the voice for Kermit now. Current has a lot of interesting stuff like this on i watched before dropping cable.
  16. 3 main problems with the USA currently and i can talk i want because i am registered voter who pays attention to what is going on instead of voting for whoever looks better or spends more money talking shit. 1. Many young Americans don't care about anything anymore other than drinking, getting high, and having sex. This generation of young people have the ability to get out and vote to make change but don't because in the end they just don't give a shit. It's like my whole generation are hippies with out the cause. 2. Our government has been corrupt since the day it was made. The big problem comes when you have power and money hungry leaders who devour the country for there own personal gain. See bush's former job as a oil tycoon mixed with massive high gas prices and middle eastern oil war covered by fear of a terrorist attack and a bad storm example. Clinton wasn't bad he did a lot of good before being buried by a dumb scandal that was blown WAY out of proportion. Kennedy also did a lot of good and look what happened to him. Good leaders get buried by the corrupt cesspool that is American politics. 3. Somewhere along the lines we noticed we have power and anyone who reads Spiderman can tell you "with great power comes great responsibility". Problem is we used ours though a series of moron leaders to take over and try to control most of the world. There is not much we can do about this other than trying to treat each other with respect and avoid the government at all costs. Don't let them scare you into doing things you would not normally do. As my dad has said don't knock on there door until they knock on yours. So in the end just vote for who you think is a good person parties aside and hope after a while the system cleanses itself.

I have a few friends on Live365 that are happy with it if you don't want to go the homebrew route.
  18. Well there goes the usefulness and price of my 1000 gmail invites on ebay...lol
  19. lol How about Mac&Cheese, Mac>Lisa, I'mamac, JustinLong, iMacTheLadies, or Mac.5 (which is brilliant btw).
  20. JFK was called to young too and he ended up being one of the best presidents of all time :)
  21. Nope actually thought of that first :)
  22. Hey guys i am working on this game the IPTV show Jetset has made one of these real world treasure hunt kind of things. Anyway i got this code in an e-mail with the line "We will look into our database and try to decrypt.". Does it look like any kind of basic encryption output to you? I know the hosts use mac computers for the most part if that can be of any help. d5320a47c499b76d2af4f3be5fc997a6
  23. Oddly enough this would be easy if you didn't want to be fancy. Rip the iPod open, Interface with the hard drive and install. No longer an iPod really but you didn't say it had to use all of the iPod. I belive you could also use the same linux emulation used on the PSP to run windows 95. It would be slow as death but i think it would at least boot. I think this idea is similar to how they get Doom running on it. As for the connection my guess would be you could use some custom software and a serial interface though the USB. Or just go with the mass storage idea though DOS of moonlit.

    PDA

Yup. I owned one for quite a while and it was great. IRC, IM, PDF, Web, etc no problems. As for skype just get a wi-fi skype phone. They are not that bad in price now.
