  1. I guess this is a question to VaKo would it be possible to disable tracking sessions for guests. i don't think that it really matters if guests don't have unread posts marked, since they're guests
  2. http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=884017118027634444 what do you guys think i quite like it. i think that it breaks down barriers to using computers to such an extent that you can use a computer reasonably effectively within only minutes of having seen one for the first time keep in mind that there are some people who can't even manage a mouse and a modern computer UI.
  3. is it just me, or can this be said to be the biggest security hole in any piece of technology ever i mean, this is basically just one step away from having a big button at startup that's just called, "root this computer"
  4. let's be honest, obama is not going to be president any time soon. not cos he wouldn't do a good job. i would put every penny i have on obama doing a better job than bush, but americans, despite how much popular media might tell you otherwise, are REALLY racist. There is no way a black guy is going to be president any time soon. A woman has a better chance. You hear that all you obnoxious whinging feminists, at least you're not black. (yes, it's true, there are NO black feminists! Feminists are over privileged women from middle class households. They have too much freedom, liberty and prosperity, so in typical female fashion, they just bitch about how bad things are for them. Any black feminists you see are the token black feminists that these women have in their groups so that you don't realise how racist they are) i think that gore's image has been really badly damaged by all his work on the environment. (i know how bad that sounds, that someone's efforts toward something so noble as trying to save the world for our future generations is actually a bad thing, but it is). Too many people are afraid that they're going to lose their jobs or pay much higher prices for energy as concessions for a greener industry. I believe however that he's the best option for president though.
  5. as i understand alot of the development that surrounds the mod scene is open it's a very effective development model in an open development model you wouldn't have retards changing passwords to a lower case version of the same password that was cracked to allow mods on the game cube (see the youtube video that i mentioned in a previous post) i guess that due to the ineffective work of the people at Nintendo we can mod wiis now, so i guess we can be grateful
  6. just 1 thing how fucking retarded do you have to be to just start attacking people because they make a big deal about saying that they're gay, or they're democrats or whatever else. these are the people that voted for bush bush, the ma leading the world, was chosen by the most inbred, mentally deficient people that humanity can produce.
  7. a video about the wii getting hacked apparently copied wii games are possible now, but not homebrew http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uTx2MAOspS4 does anyone know where to get the whole video of that i REALLY wanna see all of it
  8. yea, um, eeewww personally i think you should leave him and his webcam alone. not for his privacy, for your mental wellbeing I totally like the VNC, there's a ghost in the computer, thing you guys are so evil

    Windows question

Not exactly. XP has a system recovery feature that takes a snapshot of your system after a significant occurance like installing something or changing drivers. It doesn't really work that well though What you're describing could be done very easily though with a virtual machine though
  13. i so hope that my laptop is ready by then. It's at HP cos the dvd drive stuffed up. i've been told 1 to 2 weeks :( By the way, don't ever buy anything from HP. EVER! They suck real bad.
  14. i'm pretty sure that mandriva linux would have NTFS drivers by default if for some reason it doesn't, you can make sure that your disk is being detected properly by using Mandriva's graphical disk management tool you should be able to see it as one of your hard drives
  15. I don't know about you guts but i just had problems with a new compaq laptop and spoke to an indian guy with a fake english sounding name. i can't remember what city he said in, but it was some place that the aussies have played cricket before, that's all i remember. anyway. ouch, that hurts... is what she said
  19. meh, i don't think it's really that big a deal i don't know you're actual name, but if it's even half popular, chances are that there's someone with the same name and birthday as you. You see, if we get only just over 20 people, from say over the last 200 years who have had the same name as you (i reckon that wouldn't really be quite that difficult to do) the chances that 2 of those 20 or so people have a birthday on the same day is ~50%. it the birthday problem. so don't be too worried
  20. is this what you're looking for? http://portableapps.com/apps/music_video/vlc_portable extract it onto the portable hard drive and you have a player that you can take with you along with the music itself
  21. Everyone has hot girls on their desktops alot of hak5 fans really need a gf
  22. Am i the only one for whom being addressed as "fucker" is unpleasant?
  23. I've also, heard that it's actually good to use very high port numbers, as in >50,000 because then it looks like you're not serving something but instead it's just one of those ports that the computer chose for your return port number for a connection that you started to a server out somewhere. I don't force protocol encryption but rather only leave it on there as an option to use. I don't really see why you should not allow traffic that would be slowed down, since it's better than not having that connection at all. + it's also kinda not nice for those that use a client that doesn't yet support protocol encryption
  24. goddamnit, i read this, which just confused me more than anything else http://www.epinions.com/content_1474011268 basically what it says, even though i thought it's not 100% clear, is that compaq have 2 kinds of recovery disks. The normal ones that mostly everyone gets (which i didn't get by the way, but have to generate and burn on my own), are only there to get the files from your hidden partition and put them onto your c:, which if i'm using linux, i'm going to just want to get rid of the hidden partition and everything else then there is the other one, which as i understand is like a customised version of the windows install cd, which is really the one that i want. The one that will let me install windows from scratch. Why do compaq have to be so gay about things i think dell give you an install cd
