1. Sorry you wasted your time. There are threads detailing why it doesn't work on here. Regulatory settings can be a legal issue with shipping. Making sure we don't get in trouble for specific settings is important to us, no matter where you may be! Best regards, Sebkinne
2. We have the atheros locked right now. We decided to swipe the next firmware unlocked though. And it should have never worked. No firmware of ours let you go outside of US regs.. All you can do is wait! Best regards, Sebkinne
3. What firmware version is your WiFi Pineapple MKV at? Have you modified any configurations? You'll need to give us more to work with.
4. That's not how firmware upgrades work though. I'll respond to this thread in more detail with appropriate configuration files later. Best regards, Sebkinne
5. What you want - and what I assume the other person wanted, is this: Pineapple <-- ethernet --> Router You want the WiFi Pineapple MKV to receive an IP address from the router. You will need to set the interface to receive an IP over dhcp. Read this for more information. Best Regards, Sebkinne
6. Hey Masler77, My assumption is that you have a corrupt wireless configuration. To fix it, please execute the following: wifi detect > /etc/config/wireless This command (written with the redirection, exactly like this) will restore your wireless configuration to stock. In case this does not fix your issue though, please perform a factory reset on your WiFi Pineapple MKV. You can do this over the webinterface or using the DIP switches. I hope this helps! Best Regards, Sebkinne
7. Let me try to help. But first, I would like to say that there are a few things wrong with this post: The title is non descriptive. You didn't supply us with any logs, configurations etc. You didn't give us any background information on the network you are trying to connect to. You didn't tell us what OS you are connecting from - Though you later mentioned windows. First of all, the WiFi Pineapple MKV does NOT support https. Trying to reach it over https will result in a connection error. So, lets try to get to the bottom of this. If you want to give your WiFi Pineapple MKV internet over it's ethernet port, you can do so in two different ways: Follow the instructions in the supplied booklet. They describe how to configure your IPV4 settings correctly and set a static IP of 172.16.42.42. Re-configure the ethernet port on the WiFi Pineapple MKV so that it tries to get an IP over DHCP. This is what you'll want if you are connecting the WiFi Pineapple MKV directly to your modem over ethernet. Read through this. On the WiFi Pineapple MKV there are a few ways to give it (and it's clients) internet. We support Android USB tethering, mobile broadband dongles, WiFi Clientmode, ethernet. It seems like you only want ethernet for this setup. We don't have it configured to work with a router by default, but to work with our configurations by default. The likely reason you are unable to connect to the WiFi Pineapple webinterface is because your routing settings are incorrect. Now, your comment on "Operator Error", I think you may have misunderstood the setup instructions in regards to Internet Connection Sharing. The WiFi Pineapple was designed for penetration testing purposes and therefore is configured as such. If you wish to use it as a stand alone router, a bit of configuration is necessary. If you are unhappy and you are within the 30 days return policy, contact shop@hak5.org for a return. Best Regards, Sebkinne
8. What does it tell you? Do you get an error message?
9. You need to use the spoiler tags:
This is a spoiler
Best Regards, Sebkinne
10. You cannot turn off the WiFi Pineapple MKV or suspend it. If you give it power, it boots up. You could write a trigger to do something if it receives a specific command, but that's about it. Best regards, Sebkinne
11. It depends on what the devices are used for. Anyway, we have passed FCC, period.
12. Of course we have gone through FCC, and obviously we passed it too. Not having passed FCC, we would be illegally selling in the US. Not a risk we'd ever be willing to take. See the FCC logo on the bottom of the WiFi Pineapple MKV. Just wanted to clear that up. Best regards, Sebkinne
13. We won't be changing the connector type. You can however grab yourself a small adapter for a couple of bucks from amazon / ebay / whatever. That way, the connection is stable and you can use your old connectors. Also, how did we get those antennas? Manufacturing. Even the small ones do great for most purposes. Comparably, the MKIV had a bigger antenna but is still blown away by the MKV. Best Regards, Sebkinne
14. Sma is too short of a search term I think. Anyway, we went with SMA on the WiFi Pineapple MKV and we are happy with the decision!
15. If you are getting a login promt, it's not the pineapple. Mr-protocol misunderstood though, 172.... I'd for the Webinterface. 192.168.1.1 is the recovery Webinterface. Make sure you are only connected to the WiFi Pineapple and not to any other network. Best Regards, Sebkinne
16. Still possible. Just edit the appropriate files in /etc/config/ Best regards, Sebkinne
17. Factory reset! Best regards, Sebkinne
18. That's not what he wants. AFAIK this will not be possible on the MKV. Best regards, Sebkinne
19. If you choose to disable wlan0 through the command line, re-enable it using the "wifi" command. Otherwise, disable wlan0 and enable it again over the webinterface. Best Regards, Sebkinne
20. Do this: Start SSLStrip. Wait two minutes. Try loading a page. That should work first time. SSLStrip has a rather slow start-up time. Best Regards, Sebkinne
21. The issue isn't with us but with the WiFi manager infusions then. The only two advantages (as far as I can see) it gives is adding more interfaces and Changing your MAC. Changing your MAC is something I'll be adding soon. Best regards, Sebkinne
22. Thanks! Always glad to hear this kind of stuff! Best Regards, Sebkinne
23. Neophyte, These forums are not here to let you break school / uni / whatever rules. Actually, in some cases we have seen exactly this kind of stuff has gotten students expelled AND sued. My advice? Let it be. You probably shouldn't have access to that admin account. Thread locked.
