MK1: Step-By-Step Unlocking / Install guide (with pictures)

It is while you are connected to the fon and have command line access, if you get that through telnet or putty (from which I assume you mean ssh), it doesn't matter.

You'll probably only get one attempt to telnet in as once you set roots password telnet locks up so you can't use it again.

I realize this procedure is for the fonera 2100 but has anyone successfully used this procedure for the 2200 version? They are very similar. Not the fonera+ (2201) version as that has a separate procedure.

I've already enabled SSH access on it using the kolofonium hack.

Answered my own question. Yes you can use this procedure for the 2200 version with a couple of exceptions. I didn't need to patch Redboot or the kernel. Therefore you really don't need SSH access initially either. I started at step 11, flashing fon's firmware and everything went smooth. With telnet to Redboot available for the first few seconds, it seems that Fon may have unintentionally left this version wide open. Especially considering not having to patch Redboot or the kernel.

The firmware version was 0.7.1 r2

The 2200 doesn't get nearly as hot as the 2100 does.

I am having issues flashing it. I am got into redboot and formatted the fs, but when trying to flash the root fs, telnet times out.

I experienced the same challenge when I was flashing my fon. Resolved issue buy disabling the Antivirus Service, in this case the vendor was Trend Micro. To Funny I’m answering a post that is over 4 years old. LOL

Would also like to know of any maps you can suggest.

Okay, so now I how do I get to the web interface :| I tried connecting to 10.168.1.254 and nothing.

I never had this much trouble installing Jasager before :|

Did you reboot the Fon?

Are you using Jasager firmware or Piranha 2.0 alpa4?

Jasager firmware (on projects site) does not have a web interface for the router configuration.

Apparently the Jasager firmware needs a little different configuration than Piranha (what I have tested). I'll update the post to reflect these changes. when you edit /etc/config/wireless, change option disabled 1 to option disabled 0 (thus enabling the ath0 - wifi interface) and reboot.

ps. thanks for helping working out the kinks in my guide. I guess i should have changed the status to DRAFT..

Just because this is bound to trip someone up, these are examples of vim commands, not a list of what should be entered to save and exit from vim.

I'm saying this because someone will do the :wq, end up on the command line and then ask how to go about entering :q you can almost guarantee it!

What web interface are you trying to access? Jasager? or Router config?

http://192.168.1.1:1471 for Jasager

there is NO router config web interface built into the Jasager firmware.

are you trying to install one?

I'm trying to get to the jasager interface, I tried that ip, and many others and nothing comes up. But I can still SSH into it from 10.168.1.254.

http://10.168.1.254:1471 <---this should be the address of jasager web interface if you followed my post.

what is the IP address of your NIC connected to the fon?

can you ping 10.168.1.254?

what is the output of "route print" (assuming you're running windows)
