I've stopped recording since 1 month and was amazed that barley!!! was right to say that 7.3 was not o.k. ..... Everything works know right... you can skip songs, change the channels... everything what fucked up with 7.3...... I've deleted really everthing from version 7.3 ... look on the pandora.jar player which version does it show ???? I think I've tried to install 7.3.1 more than one time and the player shows all the time 7.3. ???? So I've killed everything what belongs to pandora (old jars) and started completly from beginning.... absolute beginner with 7.3.1 but.... greetinx
Anitha
I agree, there seem to be problems with 7.3 in terms of naming files with wrong song names etc.. I've downloaded 7.3.1 and it seemed to have fixed the problem. Yeah Baby!
MaxRabbit
I re-downloaded the newest Pandora, and deleted EVERYTHING from the previous installation. I'll see if it works now. Thanks, I'll post results :)

Guest t3chn0b0y
Hello, I want to share my experience. It's possible to use the Pandora Timeshifting App on a "locked" corporate computer or more generally on a PC that doesn't have or where you can't install Firefox, latest Java and Flash 8. All you need is a usb key with a portable version of Firefox like you can find at http://www.framakey.org (I personnaly use the lite installation pack of the Framakey) or at http://portableapps.com/.From there, you have to copy on the key the Java folder that you find under the "Program Files" of your home computer and copy the content of the Firefox "plugins" folder from your home computer to the equivalent folder on the key. Then, you just need to copy the Timeshifting App on the key and adapt the bat file to match the location where the javaw.exe is on the key and the same for the folder where the firefox.exe is. Sheugel PS: don't forget to enter the proxy settings in the portable Firefox if your company uses a proxy. sw33t, i like your way of thinkin' :D Give it a try on my ipod shuffle 1 gig.. should have enough room left to fill it up with a nights worth of mp3's for the day...
Guest t3chn0b0y
Doing this on a corporate business computer might want to create a batch file or something to clean out all the cache and remove the shockwave folder created by pandora, so you don't get caught.. LOL.... got it working on my 512meg stick.. on much to work with, after sucking up 370 megs with the firefox, java, pandora.jar coolplayer

Guest t3chn0b0y
I'm a bit confused why the var gBackstageUrl been disabled in pandora.js... and new files refreshConfig.js,tuner.js,write_tuner_embed.js in padorajs subdirectory..? did the part for the backstage get used for the lyrics? no hide lyrics on start up..?
Guest t3chn0b0y
var gBackstageUrl = "http://www.pandora.com/backstage"; function openBackstageWindow() { Â Â Â Â openWindow(gBackstageUrl + '?type=all&q=' + $F('artist')); } the above is how it should be in pandora.js in the js subdirectory. after adding that in there like so it fixed the problem for me. version 7.4.1? what happened to the other versions in between and when loaded it says its version 7.3.4? xltrader100
I've gone back to 7.3.1, which works well. With 7.3.2, besides Backstage not working, the Grab (including manual Grab) was hanging up waiting for Lyrics to download, even though I had Lyrics turned off. I wish i could jump in and fix a few things, but with what time i have available, and how much i know about programming Im so greatful for the time, and hard work, that has gone into the program...
Miramax
Is there any Chance, that the Cover Art will be tagged again? Is it Possible, that the Album Name will be tagged too? TIA
barley!!!
I've gone back to 7.3.1, which works well. With 7.3.2, besides Backstage not working, the Grab (including manual Grab) was hanging up waiting for Lyrics to download, even though I had Lyrics turned off. you can get to the backstage popup from within the pandora player, click the arrow and you may choose between; artist, album, bio not sure what your doing, but the code will not download lyrics if the option is not selected - the code checks this option before attempting to go out and fetch the lyrics. the old versions have some problems with communicating with last.fm; last.fm updated there api, these have been resolved in the new version. also file scanning logic was optimized to not spike CPU Miramax I've observed that the album art is downloaded sometimes, it appears as there is a dependency on 2 conditions. 1) The album art work is found 2) The CDDB lookup is successfull I'm pretty sure this can be fixed; the lookup logic needs to be revised, maybe someone can take a crack at it. Cynagen
Yo, appearantly everything Pandora's Jar related needs to go into 1 30 mile long thread, but whatever. I posted a fix for the Pandora tuner shifting up and to the left, and it was promptly locked some time later. I'm thinking we need a subforum of some kind for the pandora's jar stuff. Fixes, tweaks, things like that. Hopefully somebody will realize this thread is far too long and actually get the ball rolling on something like that, whatever, anyways, here's the fix, long banned from any new posts being added, and if anything changes, i'll be sure to post it here, if the mods wanna delete that thread, go for it. Original location: http://www.hak5.org/forums/viewtopic.php?t=2302 And yes, forum politic commentary is recommended and included free of charge. Feel free to ignore said bitch-rants. Pandora is not suppost to move! It keeps shifting up and to the left! How many other people are sick of this happening, despite repeated "fixes" that only seem to work for 66% of us? How about a PERMANENT FIX. Yeah, that's right, I said Permanent. That big bad scary word in the world of pandora's dynamics. C'MON, I shouldn't have been the one to find this, but whatever, since I did, and it works on my work Mac, my Mac laptop i carry everywhere with me, my home PC, and my PC at work, and my friend's PC, here's my [PANDORA MUSICAL POSITIONS FIX]. Yes, I just came up with that name, sue me. Whatever version of Pandora's Jar you're using, if your Pandora music player shifts for no reason, try this. Open up the pandoraGrabber.html and find the following lines: <div id="TunerContainer"> Â Â Â Â <iframe src="http://www.pandora.com/?cmd=mini" scrolling=no></iframe> Â Â Â Â <script type="text/javascript" src="js/pandora.js"></script> </div> Now, strip out the IFRAME and SCRIPT leaving just the DIV and /DIV tags, this is still our container and needed to make this trickery work. (Pandora's flash script appearantly checks for this crap.) Paste in this code found from the pandora.com MAIN PAGE. -NOT THE MINI THE MAIN PAGE ONLY- I have only had failure with the Mini's code, (MAYBE BECAUSE IT'S THE CODE THAT ALLOWS THE SHIFTING, hint hint guys.) <OBJECT classid="clsid:D27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000" Â Â Â Â Â Â codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=6,0,40,0" Â Â Â Â Â Â WIDTH="640" Â Â Â Â Â Â HEIGHT="250" Â Â Â Â Â Â id="radio"> Â Â <PARAM NAME=movie VALUE="https://www.pandora.com:443/radio/tuner_7_2_0_2_pandora.swf"> Â Â <PARAM NAME=quality VALUE=high> Â Â <PARAM NAME=bgcolor VALUE=#FFFFFF> Â Â <PARAM NAME=menu VALUE=false> <PARAM NAME="FlashVars" VALUE="_tunervar_shost=www.pandora.com&_tunervar_amazonurl=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.amazon.com%2Fexec%2Fobidos%2Fredirect%3Ftag%3Dsavagebeast-20&_tunervar_host=www.pandora.com&_tunervar_ar=0&_tunervar_port=80&_tunervar_sport=443&_tunervar_itunesurl=http%3A%2F%2Fclick.linksynergy.com%2Ffs-bin%2Fstat%3Fid%3DFLenzF8lvbI%26offerid%3D78941%26type%3D3%26subid%3D0%26tmpid%3D1826"> <EMBED src="https://www.pandora.com:443/radio/tuner_7_2_0_2_pandora.swf" quality=high bgcolor=#FFFFFF WIDTH="640" HEIGHT="250" MENU="false" NAME="radio" ALIGN="" TYPE="application/x-shockwave-flash" PLUGINSPAGE="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer" FlashVars="_tunervar_shost=www.pandora.com&_tunervar_amazonurl=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.amazon.com%2Fexec%2Fobidos%2Fredirect%3Ftag%3Dsavagebeast-20&_tunervar_host=www.pandora.com&_tunervar_ar=0&_tunervar_port=80&_tunervar_sport=443&_tunervar_itunesurl=http%3A%2F%2Fclick.linksynergy.com%2Ffs-bin%2Fstat%3Fid%3DFLenzF8lvbI%26offerid%3D78941%26type%3D3%26subid%3D0%26tmpid%3D1826"> </EMBED> </OBJECT> So now the pandoraGrabber.html should read: <div id="TunerContainer"> <OBJECT classid="clsid:D27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000" Â Â Â Â Â Â codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=6,0,40,0" Â Â Â Â Â Â WIDTH="640" Â Â Â Â Â Â HEIGHT="250" Â Â Â Â Â Â id="radio"> Â Â <PARAM NAME=movie VALUE="https://www.pandora.com:443/radio/tuner_7_2_0_2_pandora.swf"> Â Â <PARAM NAME=quality VALUE=high> Â Â <PARAM NAME=bgcolor VALUE=#FFFFFF> Â Â <PARAM NAME=menu VALUE=false> <PARAM NAME="FlashVars" VALUE="_tunervar_shost=www.pandora.com&_tunervar_amazonurl=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.amazon.com%2Fexec%2Fobidos%2Fredirect%3Ftag%3Dsavagebeast-20&_tunervar_host=www.pandora.com&_tunervar_ar=0&_tunervar_port=80&_tunervar_sport=443&_tunervar_itunesurl=http%3A%2F%2Fclick.linksynergy.com%2Ffs-bin%2Fstat%3Fid%3DFLenzF8lvbI%26offerid%3D78941%26type%3D3%26subid%3D0%26tmpid%3D1826"> <EMBED src="https://www.pandora.com:443/radio/tuner_7_2_0_2_pandora.swf" quality=high bgcolor=#FFFFFF WIDTH="640" HEIGHT="250" MENU="false" NAME="radio" ALIGN="" TYPE="application/x-shockwave-flash" PLUGINSPAGE="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer" FlashVars="_tunervar_shost=www.pandora.com&_tunervar_amazonurl=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.amazon.com%2Fexec%2Fobidos%2Fredirect%3Ftag%3Dsavagebeast-20&_tunervar_host=www.pandora.com&_tunervar_ar=0&_tunervar_port=80&_tunervar_sport=443&_tunervar_itunesurl=http%3A%2F%2Fclick.linksynergy.com%2Ffs-bin%2Fstat%3Fid%3DFLenzF8lvbI%26offerid%3D78941%26type%3D3%26subid%3D0%26tmpid%3D1826"> </EMBED> </OBJECT> </div> Save and refresh the localhost window. xltrader100
Just as a heads up on "coming attractions", after installing the new Firefox 2.0 beta and trying to run Pandora hack, a message window comes up saying that a new Flash plugin has to be installed, and gives a link to install Flash 9. I immediately trashed 2.0 beta, awaiting resolution of the incompatibility with Flash 9. Thanx for the warning.. I wonder why they are pushing for the flash 9 in firefox? I know Mozilla is working with Microsoft or should i say Microsoft is working with Mozilla, either way, but they are working on resolving problems when it comes to the next version of windows due out in January. Im wondering if that has anything to do with it... This is also a problem with Linux which doesnt have a flash9 available as of yet.. i noticed ways of tricking firefox to think it has version 9 for linux.. i will look around for a windows hack.
