Darren Kitchen Posted October 9, 2006 Posted October 9, 2006 Truly sad, I never even got the chance to know him. I guess the casualties are a bit easier to handle when there isn't a face to the number. May he rest in eternal banishment, whatever his name was. Quote

cooper Posted October 9, 2006 Posted October 9, 2006 Here's a thought: Let's remove those threads while we're at it. Quote
VaKo Posted October 9, 2006 Author Posted October 9, 2006 go for it, i was inclined to leave them there for a bit, so others can see why he was banned, and hopefully learn from th... what the fuck am i thinking? Nuke 'em!! Quote
take it take Posted October 9, 2006 Posted October 9, 2006 Why don't we create a forum where all the locked threads can reside? Quote
wetelectric Posted October 9, 2006 Posted October 9, 2006 Why don't we create a forum where all the locked threads can reside? Yea a banned hall of fame. To serve as an example. quite an amusing idea Quote
Darren Kitchen Posted October 9, 2006 Posted October 9, 2006 thats so evil it might just work. on a semi related topic, what do you guys think of moving the discussion board above the show board? discussion seems to be where the action is. Quote

Yup, but during the first few days on after release maybe keep the show stuff at the top? Quote
VaKo Posted October 9, 2006 Author Posted October 9, 2006 It might work, and its kinda simple so if it doesn't its easy to change back. Shall i change it over? And how about a seperate subforum for the switchblade/hacksaw/chainsaw hacks? They're getting a lot of traffic and discussion as it stands, so giving them there own section might be cool. Thinking out loud here, so shoot me down if needed. Quote
SomeoneE1se Posted October 9, 2006 Posted October 9, 2006 Thats a really good idea add Pandora threads to it too "Hak5 Projects" Quote
cooper Posted October 9, 2006 Posted October 9, 2006 Hak.5 Projects sounds like a sensible thing to me. Let's just hope people can find it. Doesn't phpbb allow you to include a description for the various topic groups so we can steer the nooblets to a somewhat proper location early on? As for 'discussion' above 'show', I'd say don't bother. The layout is concise enough that it fits on a single screen even on (comparatively) low resolution so who cares if the upper half receives less traffic. It might not be where it's at, but it is in the end what it's all about. Don't let the forum lead a life of its own. Disclaimer: I've watched the full Terminator trilogy over the weekend. Fight the machines! Quote

Fight the machines! hak5 forums = skynet? But to be completely serious, I like the idea of a projects forums. The only problem is it might take a bit to "train" everyone to post the correct stuff in the correct place Quote

moonlit Posted October 9, 2006 Posted October 9, 2006 Some cool suggestions, liking the Locked Threads area, that proves amusing on other forums, great for a laugh when you're pissed at noobs... The switcharound sounds interesting though I'm still not sure it'll keep the idiots to the right place... Oh, and thanks a lot VaKo, I was waiting for that little <censored> to GTFO :) Quote
Chalito Posted October 9, 2006 Posted October 9, 2006 I think im a bit late to the thread, but why did this guy get banned? Quote
moonlit Posted October 9, 2006 Posted October 9, 2006 constantly reposting threads about things we class as somewhat off-limits due to their nature and reposting repeatedly when his threads got locked Quote
gbjazzman Posted October 9, 2006 Posted October 9, 2006 constantly reposting threads about things we class as somewhat off-limits due to their nature and reposting repeatedly when his threads got locked He basically wanted to know how to hack teh gibson, lolol Quote
Darren Kitchen Posted October 10, 2006 Posted October 10, 2006 My only major concern is that the URL for things like the pandora hack and switchblade development _do not change_. It's ridicilous how much traffic those threads get since they're linked from all over the place. Quote
