Psychosis was working on this but I don't think it's been accomplished yet since mapping with GRUB4DOS differs from Grub2.

Nope. I haven't got it working yet, as I got sidetracked trying to get the Grub2 menu GUI (full-color, background images, etc) working. I'm keeping my USB Grub4Dos now, but will get another one to mess with Grub2 on soon.

I tend to carry about a WD 320gb and 500gb My Passport with me in tool bag. I also tend to carry around about 10 different usb keys for various things. But as of today, I bought a 32gb usb at Frys for $60. I'm hoping to be able to eliminate the need for a majority of the smaller keys with this 32gb. I happen to have an 8gb that has an image put on to it that magically appeared from the "demon" that has TONS of tools that we listed here and many more. I'm in the process of taking what was shown in today's episode and what is on this image to be able to do a massive key with most of the general repair, recover, restore tools along with BT3 (persistent), BT4 (persistent), Mint7 (persistent and install), WinXP installer, Win7 32bit & 64bit installers, Server 2003 and 2008 installers.

Just to give you guys an idea how this one was setup, here is the menu.lst from the image...

What Bootloader are you using? Im guessing grub2 cause your booting iso's?

Ok this is my first time posting in this forum... Yes I am also a noob with the USB Multipass. The problem that I am having is when I try to boot clonezilla or gparted I get a error saying

FAT: utf8 is not a recommended IO for FAT Filesystems, Filesystem will be case sensitive
now I did read all 19 pages of this post and tried all that I found but none of them worked... all of my menu.lst are as follows

It seems like some people have been having trouble booting windows iso's using the following code

title Windows XP
map (hd0,0)/winxp.iso (hd32)
map --hook
chainloader (hd32)

all you have to do to make it work is add BOOT at the end

title Windows 7
map (hd0,0)/win7.iso (hd32)
map --hook
chainloader (hd32)
boot

maybe this will work for all iso files that are not booting?

here is the reference page i found it at ...

Grub4DOS

if somebody has already posted the solution please forget what i have said ..lol

yea that could work but that does not help me with the FAT: utf8 is not a recommended IO for FAT Filesystems, Filesystem will be case sensitive error that clonezilla and gparted keeps giving me... plus the WinSetupFromUSB_0-2-3 make it easy to get the windows setups to work...

Does it go on a continuous loop about the file system being case sensitive? If so, and you're running Windows 7, it looks like it could be Windows 7 causing the problem. Mine does the same thing with GParted, and so does my cousins. I haven't been able to find out why it does this yet but I'll continue googling it.

I just now try boot it using the ISO and is still does the same thing... I really want to get it going on my multipass. I try googling it myself before I started to post in here and could not make heads or tails about it... it just means I need to keep on trying out things to see if I can get it working..

I just tried this out and it was a no go for me. After the initial loading of the devices (the blue screen right away) I get the BSOD. This is my code that it gives me: 0x0000007b (0xf7a58524, 0xc0000034, 0x00000000, 0x00000000). Just wondering if you could try this out and see if you get the same thing? I get it in VM and on a PC. Thanks!

OK, I formatted my OCZ Diesel 16GB to fat 32, ran the grubinst_GUI, copied grldr from grub4dos 0.4.4, extracted or copied my ISO's, and created my menu.lst file according to what I've read in the now 20 pages of this topic. It was fun, I enjoyed myself. Unfortunately, when I try to boot to it I get some error about a PXE stack? Any ideas?

you need to extract the iso to the folder you want

this is the menu.lst config
