(Pandora) Saver2

Hi,

I've been using it for some time now and recently without any change that I can think of that I did I am getting "Unable to rename file ..... Cannot create a file when that file already exists." It seems to be happening all the time now (unless that song was already there for real). When this happens if I go to that folder I find a .tmp file but no mp3 there already.

When I go to the save folder I have a .tmp file there but not the mp3 file.

I re-downloaded the newest version and same result, rebooted, tried the usual.

I have version 1.100c built on Sat 05 Sep 2009 20:12:58

As a test I moved the output folder to a local drive from my server share, and it works now. I'd prefer direct write to server but I can deal with this for now at least. One more note I doubt it permissions since the file is being written and I can manually rename it just fine.

If you have any suggestions of a way to make it more tolerant of what I'm guessing is network latency in renaming the tmp file let me know please! I looked the advanced config over but nothing jumped out at me as likely to help.

ZigZagJoe-Here's the log. It logged the first song "Ain't No Sunshine", but despite several song changes, it hasn't ID'd any. Here's the log with the Grooveshark debug enabled:

yeah, it's updated, and as such no longer works. I'll look into it.

getStreamKeyFromSongID takes a "songID" (int) and returns a "streamKey" (string, quoted) which is used by the download server; this is essentially identical to the prior implementation though the bit that parses it will have to be redone most likely.

getSearchResults is the new way to get metadata, or it is the first way i need to implement anyways. (doesnt ask for a certain songs extended info anymore)

"http://beta.grooveshark.com/static/amazonart/m" + CoverArtFilename (IF NOT NULL) gets a 170*170 image aart (excellent! bigger this time)

had to update due to pandora updating (pandora client failed to work): if it failed to sync, update. this has a few minor changes in it, encoding is properly disabled again, etc.

grooveshark has been removed from the download temporarily.

Is anybody else with Pandora One finding it automatically lowering the quality a lot on them particularly in the evening? I checked some bandwidth tests and my DSL is doing ok ~1900Kbps so I believe it's slow on their end. I really don't want it resetting itself to low quality.

** DOH, I think I found my own answer and am now using the Pandora Client which doesn't seem to care. Still funny how the web client was so choppy and having problems and the client is ok, but so far so good with it.

Hey ZigZag... been a while since I posted but I guess that is a good thing.. means I haven't had any issues with it.

I recently re-did my computer with new HD's (old one failed so now I have a 2TB raid array built with 500GB 10,000RPM drives and parity backup).

First thing I did was get PandoraSaver all setup to try and fill all this disk space... I have been getting some weird errors, here is a snippet from my log right before I closed SProxy.

When this happens the web player will not load a song and the pandora client in SProxy says that it is failing to load a playlist with a red bar. This happens no matter which one I am using. Any ideas?

You are likely getting tempbanned by pandora - are you using turbo mode?

yes I am using Turbo... but the weird thing is sometimes it happens after 30 minutes, sometimes it takes hours...

and of course it hasn't happened since I made that post, lol...

Having a bit of trouble finding out how it gets metadata outside of searches.... there's always the option of just using the built-in metadata (each file typically has id3 tags), but they're very inconsistent.

Beg pardon for noting the known, t'would be nice if playlists could be generated from slacker station plays.

They are are very nice feature with Pandora saves, as much for editing out garbage as for playing and selecting and managing.

For searches it is just json... then for popluar you post to I believe GetPopular.php then it returns html, according to wireshark, (I believe it is json)... I'll post more... also if you havn't found this the mp3 is stream.php with the streamkey over http (so no rtmp or rtmpe etc)

Yeah, this much remains the same. (streams and streamkey, which you get by sending a getStreamKeyFromSongID with songid)

What gets me is somehow it's finding out about your recently played songs and playlist songs some other way - this would lead to unknown song if it only knew of searches (though, this would do for what I use grooveshark for). Looking for a request that contains the song title, artist, and songid at minimum in i t.

@brofix: added station playlists to slacker. Re-download it; writing playlists defaults to on but can be changed in advanced settings.

Installed the new one with the Slacker playlist generator, but just copied the 4 extas from the last as they were not auto-dl'd (player, lame, etc..).

Auto-config failed. P Client seemed OK. SP self-aborted.

This is on a Vista machine which happily runs SP 1.1.0.0. (oh; same ver no.).

ImageShack is having indigestion right now. Perhaps you can glean the issues from the log.

I still can't find how it gets the uuid or token in grooveshark, well I will post if I do find how it gets those.

Update I am able to get everything but the UUID here is why:

I see now why you the "id" is part of the spec -- I hadn't considered
that, because as you guessed we don't ever batch calls. The UUID that

we pass actually isn't the same thing, it's a UUID generated by the

client, and it remains constant throughout a session. Adding support

for that would definitely require some reworking of my RPC code, but

it could be done. So I guess the main issue I have at this point is

just with errors. :)

Guess the swf generates it :(

Installed the new one with the Slacker playlist generator, but just copied the 4 extas from the last as they were not auto-dl'd (player, lame, etc..).
Auto-config failed. P Client seemed OK. SP self-aborted.

This is on a Vista machine which happily runs SP 1.1.0.0. (oh; same ver no.).

ImageShack is having indigestion right now. Perhaps you can glean the issues from the log.

It's been a while since I did an install; probably I forgot something.

Make sure you are running as admin (or move the folder out of the program file folder).

Don't need that. Need to find where it gets the metadata for a songid.
