  1. The trick to stopping script kiddies is simply have a good firewall, av and having your system patched. This will stop 99% of attackers because they would rather move on to another, easier target instead of spending time trying to kill your firewall, av, etc.
  2. I guess that no matter what part of the world you reside in, a large portion of people just don't give a damn about much of anything. Such a sad thing really.
  3. I don't believe that's Kevin's nor anyone elses at Revision3/Digg because being a Diggnation fan, I've noticed that Kevin has barely enough money to buy a cheap, ikea couch. So a 60K car is probably out of his budget range. They do have a few million dollars in venture capital funding but there's now way Jay (the CEO) would let them buy a red viper when they're constantly buying new servers and expanding their offices.
  4. I see what both of you mean and I understand why it can be a bad idea to force people to vote. I got the idea from the Ausies because they're required to vote (unless it's been changed recently). I just got sick of hearing people complain about who's in office then say that they didn't even vote for anyone in the election once asked.
  5. 18.24 KB (approximently) per picture, every five seconds for a minute would equal 218.88 KB a minute/13,132.8 MB an hour, per person. Assuming that about 10 people have the feed open, that's 131,328 MB an hour. And let's say we all watched/kept open the feed for four hours, we're looking at 656,640 MB total. Not too bad when considering the increadibly fast connection they pay for. And I have no idea why I just computed all of that. Maybe it's because I'm doing my statistics homework at the moment. I need a life/girlfriend/something.
  6. Could you explain it to me and kill me with the rail gun? Oh the irony.
  7. I've come to the conclusion that I should transfer to a British uni and get out of this country. Anyone looking for an american roommate? I'm really quite clean! I promise!
  8. Trust me, I've tried. But I still can't see how you can turn this: In to this:
  9. I would like to see the blueprints for that device for I simply cannot devise how someone could do so.
  10. I was at work when I first found the page off digg and once I got to about the 10th line, I literly had to step outside because I was bothering so many people from laughting too loud.
  11. According to the CIA and NSA anyway, the only completely secure computers are those that do not have any sort of networking equipment or capabilities. Basically a comp buried under 10 feet of concrete.
  12. I just had to share this with everyone. If you're even the slightest bit a Star Wars fan, you'll love this: http://www.keepersoflists.org/index.php?lid=1906
  13. Welcome back, glad to see that you made it out alive and well.
  14. I believe it was but not in such blantant form. Because this is your school there's no way they'll let you have access from home, the best advice anyone here can give you would be to google it and hope for something useful.
  15. Someones there! Oh they're gone. Oh there back!... nope, never mind.
  16. Darn it, Garda pretty much stole what I was going to say. Hm, maybe ask him what sort of feedback he's recieved from readers and have they provided any good ideas for future apps?
  17. I'd show off the switchblade if you have the equipment (ie extra flash drive and laptop). Also, I'll go with Cooper here and agree on ARP cache poisoning. It's realitivily easy to show off and understand.
  18. One part (of nearly thousands) of the american government that pisses me off is the fact that we are not required by law to vote in any elections. And because of this, only the people who feel strong about one side or the other vote and the other 100 million or so just vote for who evers name sounds the best with the title "President". I actually know people who vote like this and it makes me want to beat them. Of the 300+ million people in the US, only around 122 million voted in the 2004 election. And if you look at the red/blue distribution map (see below) of that election, you know that every hick/boondocks hellhole state voted for Bush. *Excluding flordia because of all the old people there. They will always be a republican state due to their promises with health care. However, this may change with the current issue of social security. Which in my opinion should be ridded of. This is no long the 1920's, the majority of people are at least the slightest bit smarter about how to invest their money. The whole idea behind SS was for the gov't to have another way to tax people with actually just considering it a tax and hope that the person dies before they hit 65. Now we're screwed because the baby boomers are retireing. </rant>
  19. "I eat pieces of shit like you for breakfast" "You eat pieces of shit for breakfast!!?" "...No!"
  20. Whatever happened to the idea of building a telenet BBS?
  21. I'm liking that idea. "Wess! We've got a project for you!"
