  1. Now all you need is VaKo's sword and the ninja costume would be complete.
  2. Eh, don't worry about it, the program I already have eventually broke the password. Took it 18 hours but thats ok, the file turned out to be junk anyway. Thank you for your time though.
  3. Thanks for the link Garda Man, they laid waste to everything. I'm not a WoW player but I've watched my fair share to know that they raised hell and kicked the shit out of everyone. Well, what they did was immoral but oh well, it's just a game.
  4. After rumaging through some old files of mine in the dark corners of my hdd, I found a old word document that's password protected. Having wrote the thing over 2 years ago, I forgot the password. I was wondering if any of you knew of a program that could brute-force the file or run a dictionary attack but with more than 8 characters. I have one that can run up to 8 but knowing me, the password is probably around 10. Chances are the password is an actual word, nothing made up and with no numbers so it shouldn't take too long to crack either way. If any of you know of anything that works and is free, I'd love to try it. Thanks. And yes, I have tried googling this but with no luck: all results were of programs for sale.
  5. True, that 300gb I got had the usual stuff that any idiot would leave for someone else to find and exploit: Bank accounts, Social security numbers, credit card numbers, etc. If I was an evil person I could have ruined their lives.
  6. Woah, felt like I was at a rave or something. That is really cool though, quite creative.
  7. Yes, I agree with metatron. Why bother caring what others say/do? Were all here because we like Hak5 and the quality shows/skits they perform and to talk with like-minded people.
  8. And we continue to drool.....
  9. PB & J with doritos (black pepper jack and/or salsa verde) - actually on the sandwich, coffee (extra expresso) and one of those natural valley snack bars. Great latenight snack on a college budget
  10. This story was already on digg not too long ago.
  11. Oh gosh $ynt4xe770r, now you're "Supreme Elite Hacker".
  12. Seen a lot of those fools too. Usually the last day they have their sale, if they're really desperate to get ride of it, they will take any price.
  13. you must have nothing better to do all summer :S Oh I do: I work a lot but I always have a few projects lined up every summer to keep me from going insane. This year I’m building/doing: 1. A collapsible beer-pong table with Firefox for the theme 2. Terabyte server for my apartment next semester (for my music, dvds, etc) 3. mod the old satellite dish into a wardriving tool 4. Mess with my xbox (linux, xbms, something) 5. and possibly build my own tivo or just buy one, who knows. The only reason why I know of all homes that have unencrypted APs or their user names and passwords in my neighborhood is because a friend of mine wanted to learn how to hack wireless APs. So, I took him wardriving around one night and showed him the ropes.
  14. I usually hunt garage sales when I get back from university in the spring. Last year I found an old p3 with a maxtor 300gb hard drive, working. Haggled with the guy (who knew nothing about computers) and got it for 40 bucks.
  15. It's great to see the pictures your hot friends post of them and their other hot friends drunk on the weekends, always a good laugh or two. Myspace has it's purposes. Honestly, I wish I had thought of the site years ago so I could be rich.
  16. I would love to see how you photoshopped Darren to look so emo. The tattoo and ear piercings looked so real.
  17. Sounds awesome. I recall a hack-a-day that did a similar hack but with switches quite a while ago. I've always wanted to do the same but wireless and with a NES controller that I have somewhere is my junk bin back home. I just don't have the time anymore, damn classes.
  18. Agreed, it may be yahoo and it may be a shitty interface, but it's simple.
  19. True but what else does one have to turn to when it comes to gaming? I love linux, windows, and osx but If vista is better than xp pro, I'll torrent it and use it for my gaming rig. Other than that viva la open source.
  20. I was planning to do the same thing this summer with my old DSS dish that's still on the back of my house. After wardriving around my neighborhood I know all the homes without encryption and even the ones with default (admin:admin) logins. If this works, summer will be fun.
  21. Eh, I'm hoping to completely move over to linux for everything minus gaming by the time vista comes out. But who knows, I will probably end up torrenting a cracked version just so I have the latest win os in my collection.
  22. 512 on my laptop. My desk box is a POS, it's only got 256. Ha, check out the geek photo section if you want to see it.
