Thanks for all the responses! @Yakamashii Im sure we could work something out to get you one @bashincajun I plan to keep the thread updated as changes are made. First will probably be smaller enclosure followed by the battery pack.
  2. I would try this first. I thing the chip for USB-C is different than previous USB. So it would require more than just a connector. Not saying it can't be done tho.

@BLAMM0 His answer is pretty much spot on. @digip
  4. Thanks for all the info. Powering the cameras wont be an issue. Have looked into trenching Ethernet out to the location but not looking cost effective at this point. Looking at setting up a wireless bridge so could have the ability to use wired IP cameras then bridge the connection back to the main router. Looking at possibly an AP with external antenna connections to give flexibility for directional antennas. We have a r7000 router now with stock antennas that actually seems to have decent signal strength at the location but haven't actually tested the quality. Might go with @Dave-ee Jones suggestion. Cameras look to be nice and have nice features for easy use.
  5. @flok I must have misread your question. I understand what your asking now. I would recommend what @digip posted. I'm pretty sure Airgeddon does fake/poisoned dns by default but I'm not completely sure, haven't used it in a while. I have noticed the same thing as @digip mentioned about cellphones. I haven't tested many apple phones but it seems android phones can act in several different ways depending on version when using Airgeddon.
  6. @Dave-ee Jones thanks for the response! Will have to check them out.
  7. I don't know about wifiphisher but this is how fluxion and airgeddon (evil captive portal) work with captive portal. Once a target connects, they will be immediately redirected to the login page until the correct password is entered. Fluxion comes with a lot more portal options but airgeddon has more features.
  8. Looking for a wireless camera to be mounted outdoors to monitor a control panel. The camera will be about 200-250 ft from wireless access point. Color, HD video preferred. Just looking for suggestions if anyone has experience with them. Thanks!
  9. I'm pretty sure TrueCrypt ended in 2014. They still have some info on there website. If I remember right, they stopped development due to lack of support on Windows because of BitLocker. I have used Veracrypt before, seems to be pretty good. It is very similar to TrueCrypt if you have ever used it before.
  10. I have dual booted an SSD on a laptop. Had no issues after a few years of use. May just want to check if the OSs being used have settings to help increase the life of the drive. I like the sound of this setup!
  11. @Bob123 is correct I believe about the USB Killer. It operates around the 200v area and several pulses per second. I once saw a blog post showing someone using a taser to make a usb killer like device but can't remember where. @Bob123 when you refer to an EMP are you talking about a radiated device that would not need to be connected or are you meaning an EMP burst through a connection? I have read a couple horror stories on other forums were people tested small EMP radiating devices and damaged/destroyed non-target equipment due to it having more power/range than they expected.
  12. Not an expert in the matter or that particular router model but I do know that if you were to apply POE to a non-POE device it can cause serious damage. POE is 48 volts but its the amperage applied that really gets you. Usually with POE there is no damage done do to POE detection on switch/devices. I do know some routers have no protection, that's why some recommend surge protectors. How did you accidentally apply 12v to the WAN port? Hopefully someone else can give you a little more info on your exact router.
  13. I have not personally done it but have seen before that it has to be done with a command, device argument. These articles talk about it: https://github.com/mossmann/hackrf/issues/168 and https://lists.osmocom.org/pipermail/osmocom-sdr/2015-May/000059.html A quick search "hackrf enable antenna power" finds several articles on the topic.
  14. You might want to do some research on using the HackRF for Bluetooth. There can be some issues and things that need to be modified for it to work with Bluetooth, is my understanding of it. A device like Ubertooth One is more suited for use with Bluetooth out of the box. May want to give this a read: https://www.reddit.com/r/sdr/comments/48db0a/sniffing_bluetooth_with_hackrf/ The article describes some of your problems you mention about signal strength as well as other issues.
  15. Using screen suggested by @i8igmac is awesome! Would highly recommend it when using RPi with SSH.
  16. Nice write up. Would be interested in seeing the weather data setup.
  17. Cool project. Going to have to give it a try as well!
  18. You may also want to do your testing away from other 2.4 GHz sources. If there is an overlaying transmission from another source it could be "washing out" the TX you are trying to analyze. Do you have a brand or model of the device you are analyzing? More information would help in finding possibly the frequency, modulation type, mode of operation. Depending on devices you can actually have a transmitting device to close to the receiver were there can be a dead zone of the antennas This is however unlikely with such low powered devices being used.
  19. TorGuard and NordVPN both seem to be good services. This is some really good advice when picking a VPN service in my opinion. Just want to really look at what each one offers.
  20. Do you have the P1 header pins jumped for bootloader mode? May also check out https://github.com/greatscottgadgets/yardstick/wiki/YARD-Stick-One for more info if you haven't yet. May need to reflash bootloader, info here https://github.com/AdamLaurie/CC-Bootloader

Here are a few more pics. Currently working on a more compact enclosure, roughly a third smaller. Some improvements with the smaller enclosure will be custom USB cables, possibly removal of the cooling fan (testing if it is actually needed), and as mentioned before a built in battery pack. The current setup was mainly done for testing but seems to be very functional. The only piece not seen in the pictures is the GPS unit which is mounted to the lid of the enclosure. Any suggestions for improvements or general thoughts on the build would be appreciated!

Thanks! @digip I will post more pics soon, sometime in the next day or so. I plan to post more info if there is interest for it.
