  2. I had a MiniDisc Player too, the software which you had to use to copy music to it was so dam awful half the time it never worked and the other half it would take an age to copy one track, It broke a few months ago and has been sitting on my desk waiting to be taken to bits and mucked around with. But yer back on the topic every thing (well most) things are now made to be "disposable" Tv, firdges, microwaves, ipods and to a lesser extent even cars, because the price of production has fallen so much and there all mass produced.
  3. does anyone one actually know how the vending machines calculate what coins you put in, is it weight or size or something totally different?
  4. So im buying a new computer, i have everything ready to order apart from the graphics card, i relies that in a few months or so more DirectX 10 cards will start appearing and therefore the prices of DirectX 9 cards will drop. But untill that happens I still want to be able to play games at a descent, playable frame rate, they dont have to be on high setting minium will do. So which graphics card do you guys recommend? (sub £100 about $160) Thanks w4rp3d

  8. I just googled my name and apparently (no word of the a lie this is the honest truth) Someone with the same name as me was born 28th of September 1841, the weird thing is the 28th of September is my actual birthday.
  9. The hardest part would be the device unlocking the door its self, a few ideas just a quick think: 1. A deadbolt connected to a servo which just slide the bolt away to unlock the away. Advantages: Very easy to construct, cheap Disadvantages: Cant unlock it if there's a problem with the system (no non-tech way), if you didnt have the door shut and the door locked you would have to unlock then lock again 2. A Normal lock with a servo/motor pulling the handle down Advantages: quite easy and cheap(ish) and a key could be used aswell. Disadvantages: servo/motor has to be resonably powerful to pull the handle down, have to attach a rod/wire to the handle of the lock
  10. thanks everyone I didnt even think of the encryption  its now a lot higher remkow i think you were right (noobish moment) thanks agian
  11. I changed it to port 80, and its jumped up slightly to 30kb/s. Which is better than it was just not as good as it probably can be.

  13. Im having problems getting good download speeds using torrents, after a few minutes googleing I found that my ISP provider (Tiscali) throttles down torrents, Im using uTorrent 1.6 and im not getting more than 20kb/s which is quite typical for other torrents ive downloaded. Where as I normally get 100kb/s downloading normally 120kb/s on a good day. Is there any way i can bypass the throttleing down??
  14. I got a new TV for Christmas with a built in DVD player, which i hooked up to a pc so I can watch movies and music through it. After using it for a few days im starting to get a bit cheesed off with turning the pc on and waiting for it to start up ever time i want to listen to some mp3's. Then it hit me that I could burn a DVD with a tonne of mp3s on it. The question i put to you guys is: do you know of any free software which i can create a title screen/menu for the DVD so i can browse it easily. (ive tried google but didn't come up with anything)
  15. By the looks of it your planing to spend some serious dough, so for the sound card have you looked at the "X-Fi XtremeGamer Fatal1ty Pro Series" cost a bit (read: alot) but the reviews ive seen seem to say its great.

    DirectX 10

if your in to gaming yes it will! It will have a huge performance increase of games thanks to the vertical and pixel shaders being now "combined" into a "Common Core" so that instead of the shaders being fixed they can change into either one maximising the use of the hardware, also with the introduction of geometry shader which will benefits include better textures. Theres also the fact that because of the directx 10 architecture, the load of the CPU will be decreased and the same for the GPU, how will this work? well as i understand imagine there is huge army in front of you each solder wont be processed but one will be (or a few) then the data will run though once more to find the position of each one dramatically decreasing the work. Thats just what i have read on the net and mags.
