  1. Found this https://stackoverflow.com/questions/2791839/which-is-the-easiest-way-to-simulate-keyboard-and-mouse-on-python
  2. I want to build a USB rubber ducky simulator using python. How Can I simulate keyboard presses in python? Can someone point me in the right direction please? In an ideal world I would love to develope a suite of tools that can be accessed from a GUI to configure/test and monitor Hak5 gear, but sadly this maybe beyond my capabilities :-(
  3. Hi, Is there a tool to passively map a network from a packet capture and produce documentation e.g. network map, ports open on devices etc...?

  9. Hi, Have been trying to get hold of Hak5. I was browsing the web and I came across this site: http://hackercomputerschool.eu5.org/hack/hacking.php Looks like they are trying to indicate that they are Affiliated with Hak5. What do you guys think?
  10. I know this may be seen as a very pointless and stupid question. Does the Hak5 team provide a set of the icons they use for the various diagrams they publish? E.g https://www.hak5.org/wp-content/uploads/2017/10/openvpn_diagram1.png Although not essential it would be good to be able to produce diagrams while learning, using the same theme as used by Hak5. Must admit I really like the simplistic look of them.

Backtrack?? That is no longer supported! Use Kali Linux.
  12. Hi Hak5, are there any plans to release an android app to allow the configuration of the Hak5 goodies? This is something I would be willing to pay for.

    HDK question

There is usually an on board linear regulator the turns the 5V supply from the USB to 3.3V. As for communicating via the ISB there is usual a level shifter e.g. signal to PC +5v the other side of the level shifter(micro controller, side) is 3.3v. Also it’s possible to get a 3.3V micro controller that have 5V tolerant pins. But not all are the same and you would have to read the data sheet.
  14. Found this for emulating embedded devices http://www.whitelist1.com/2017/05/1-emulating-netgear-router-firmware.html?m=1 any of you guys had experience with this?
  15. Still can’t get over the fact that Apple have removed viewing MAC addresses in Apps! All in the name of security.
  16. Great link! Thank you. Looks like great reading.
  17. What recommendations would you make for a noobs pentest lab? i currently have virtualbox running Kali, metasploitable, couple of Linux distro’s all on a internal network(virtualbox). Is there a simple solution to virtualise embedded system e.g. the firmware from my router? i know there is this thing called google....but would like guidance from people who are knowledgeable in this area. Any advise will be gratefully received, including recommended reading. Im not asking anyone to do it for me, just guide me in the right direction please. This is purely a obsession/hobby for me.
  18. An like I said in a previous post... why don’t they create another channel with all their product goodness( Hak5 university?). they could still advertise and do small segments about for the products on the Hak5 channel, but the more in-depth stuff could be done on the new channel. Hak5 + Hak5 University = increase revenue.
  19. The prices wouldn’t be to bad at all if the price was equivalent to the U.S price. £125 = $164! $100 = £76 even if you buy direct from hak5, by the time you have have paid postage, import tax and VAT. The price is nearly double.
  20. Thank you Rkiver... your comments are perceived as unkind just sound advice. I had found posts on how to root, but guess I was looking for reassurance from the community. most of my learning so far has been done with Kali linux on a raspberry pi and virtual box(on my PC). Started to experiment with a openwrt router. Guess I want to be able to experiment during my lunch break(tablet not being so obvious) .
  21. Hi guys & girls, what is the best way to root an android tablet? The tablet in question is a Asus Zen pad z300m. was wondering if Kali linux would run on this device? if not, what can I install on the tablet to learn wireless security. Can I also install nmap?
  22. So what’s the cost of ordering a WIFI pineapple nano direct from Hak5 , delivered to the U.K., tax etc ? Is it cheaper than buying from European seller(approx £116)?
