  1. Shipping is steep... but general experience is that is typical from the US😔 its a real shame, US would sell so much more, if they could compete with China on the postage. Plus we tend to get hit with VAT from items from the states 😳
  2. Hi I’m about to give my daughter a PC. I’ve installed Windows 10 pro. Have created a standard user (my daughter) and an admin account(me). i won’t to be able to use something like RDP to occasionally monitor her screen. Is this possible with RDP? Also, any other recommendations for keeping my daughter safe online would be greatly appreciated.
  3. Hi Was working on my router and the Deep Packet inspection detected a TOR connection from my Laptop. Interestingly , I’ve never installed TOR 🤔 Is there a way for me to detect if TOR is installed and what may be using it? I’m using Windows 10(I know, WTF !).
  4. Not even sure what your asking 😂
  5. As of late I’ve been playing with packet capture on my home network. I’ve been using wireshark to learn about different protocols etc(I’m a slow learner 😁). is there a application that I can run the packet captures through that has similar functionality as an IDS... post capture?
  6. Also in the wrong section and probably why no one had replied before 😔
  7. Are you asking... how to locate an Access point by walking around and taking measurements?
  8. Yeah and theres a 99.9999% chance your setup/systems are more secure too 😁 I haven’t even scratched the surface of the security rabbit hole 😂

    MITM problem

Accept using another device then use the MAC address from device used, on your pineapple?
  10. If you really are doing a masters in security, then you shouldn’t need any help. It’s suppose to be your own work.
  11. Would you say the key file is a better method or just more convenient?
  12. I’m using keypass at the moment 👍🏻 Application and database are on a usb drive. Logic being the files only accessible when needed 🤔 I only use it on one machine and have no intension of using else where. I’ve seen posts where people are storing the database in the cloud, which worries me as it removes a layer of protection(in my eyes).
  13. Hi Was wondering what the best practices are for using password managers? 1)Which ones would you recommend. 2) Where to store the database. 3) Password or key file?
  14. Bloody hell!! How many versions of this are you going to post over the forum 🤔
  15. An definitely watch hak5👍🏻 Not just the recent ones.
  16. YouTube is your friend 👍🏻 For what your trying to do, you could of ordered a cheap WIFI adapter off eBay that supports monitor mode. The pineapple is a computer of sorts , in itself e.g. airmon-my is already installed.
  17. I’ve stuck a Packet squirrel in between isp router and mine. Turned all my clients off, so I can see what was going through last night. But have nothing in router logs for last night 🤔
  18. Have ISP box in router mode(first layer of NAT) connected to second router(internal network, different subnet). RJ45 connection between both router with nothing in between. My router is a Netgear nighthawk and not a lot of control options. SPI is turned on ,on both router and I’ve also setup to block ports that have no reason to leave my network. im seeing the alerts on the nighthawk logs. Internet ISP router/modem(NAT)(first subnet) My router(NAT)(2nd subnet, nighthawk) My network
  19. One example of log DoS attack:FIN Scan (1) attack packets from 216.58.204.34 internal one was: DoS attack:ACK Scan (1) attack packets from 10.4.4.77
  20. I think the scan on my phone is giving a false positive.... can scan other IP’s in that range and I’m getting same results 🤔
  21. I should mention when I saw it in the logs I pinged it and done a basic port scan on my phone. It was still there and port 53 was open on it. Started up my laptop and the used nmap and device stopped responding. Tried on my phone again and it wasn’t there anymore.
  22. Hi digininja, sorry yes I meant internet facing. The first router(ISP device, WiFi is disabled)in the chain only has one client connected(my router, WiFi enabled and internal devices connect to this). Example let say my router was 10.4.4.2 and the isp router is the gateway(10.4.4.1). My router was being port scanned on 10.4.4.77, this showed up in my routers logs(IP scheme is for demonstration purposes) I’ve also seen a couple of port scans on my router from external IP’s and when I investigated my isp router had been reset to factory default(This concerned me).
  23. Hi guys and girls im getting increasingly worried about the web facing side of my network😔 I’ve recently seen getting port scanned by a device which shouldn’t that shouldn’t be there( only one device should be there). I’m double NAT’d with ISP router and my own. Ive recently bought a edgerouter, but worried about configuring the firewall wrong. Can someone please advise? I want to keep my family safe.
  24. 😂 Unless your paying for someone’s time, you can’t dictate the experience someone has for them to respond to your Question. That kind of attitude will probably result in no one willing to help!
