  1. You try downloading them from the Alfa website. http://www.alfa.com.tw/in/front/bin/home.phtml
  2. Double post, I hate when that happens. How do I get rid of this post?
  3. That's what I am buying too. I am getting two of those.
  4. Security is the key in this business, so you are right.
  5. Before you format your computer, check for the number of processes running on the background (Taskman.exe). If you are over 50 processes, try closing down the ones that you don't require. Also take note, for any particular process that may be hogging the CPU resources. In most cases, this will be the likely cause of slow performances. If that doesn't work, try rolling back any drivers, you have updated recently, and see if that makes any difference. Let me know how you go.
  6. As long as you are not using the windows built in VPN . It should be good enough.

My company uses Scom software, to keep an on their servers. You can check it out, by vising this URL http://www.microsoft.com/systemcenter/en/u...ns-manager.aspx
  8. How about using the Microsoft MSTSC. That works fine too.
  9. I think you will need to flush your router with DD-WRT firmware, I don't think tomato firmwares come with SSH services, I may be wrong. But there is no reference to SSH on tomatos website. Alternatively if you don't want to flush your router again, you could set up FreeSSHd server on your computer, but yeah you said you don't want to have a PC running 24/7. Umm not sure!
  10. Perhaps next time you craft something like that, you could make it out of rubber or some type of material that is water resistant. Just like those new Corsair Thumb Drives.
  11. That was the interesting part I found while trying to execute IE.exe on the remote computer. I was expecting it to open the actual Internet Explorer application, but it didn't so after trying to run IE.exe for several times and no sign of internet explorer windows opening up, I deceived to open up Task manager on the remote computer to see if there was any happening and guess what, I had more than 5 instances of the IE.exe running on the background. But yeah that was fun.
  12. I've heard of it before, but don't know how well it ranks up. I know Kaspersky is on the top and Avast in second and AVG in third or fourth.
  13. Have a look at this URL, that's what my company uses for reimaging their computers. http://www.microsoft.com/systemcenter/en/u...on-manager.aspx
  14. CDs have a tendency of failing sometimes, so back up tapes makes perfect sense.
  15. Hi cbodor, The enterprise that I work for, all their servers currently have Microsoft Security Essentials installed (known as forefront). With regards to your question above whether servers should or not have av installed. One of the reasons I can think of is performance wise. As AVs are constantly monitoring and scanning the system files, it may cause a slight degradation in performance. But as server are getting faster and faster nowadays it should no longer be an issue. I think at all costs a server should have an Anti-virus installed.
  16. I think I will be flushing OpenWRT and DD-WRT on both of my routers. I kinda like the features both have to offer.
  17. Hi all, I am performing some network upgrades at home and I am going to be buying new wireless routers to share the internet connection and other stuffs as well. I've been thinking and doing some readings but I am not sure which firmware I should flush my routers with. I know there are several open firmwares out there, like Tomato, Openwrt and DD-wrt. After reading about each individual firmware I am just a little confused. That's why I am turning to you guys, to find out which firmware is better or would you recommend and why. Thank you in advance.
  18. Or you could put your server in a DMZ.
  19. You can download python from this link http://www.python.org/download/
  20. I think you will find this posts interesting, with regards to packet injecting with Alfa AWUS050NH adapter. http://forum.aircrack-ng.org/index.php?topic=5278.0 As well as found this article that walks you through the process of how to crack wep keys. http://lifehacker.com/5305094/how-to-crack...-with-backtrack
  21. How about blue rays Disks, I know they cost quite a lot and its size can vary from 25gb to 50gb, would they make a good medium for back ups or not worth at all. Just wondering what you guys think.
