Ha ha.. ha... no. I hate copyrights, they are so complex and are constantly modified so a few people can make more money. Never the less, play for your material, or even better, listen/view things with a Creative commons license, or use software released under a GNU license.

You could extract the laser out of a DVD burner, or if you are rich, out of an HD-DVD or Blu-Ray player.

I thought about trying to get a job in IT, but dealing with the extreme of computer illiterate will result in me moving more of my sanity. I dont want to help people turn on their computer or help them copy and paste.

you can have a disk image stored on the ipod, and then using a boot floppy or cd, recall that image and boot from it.

Blu-rau and HD-DVD would be great for data storage, but for high def video, it doesn't impress me. A good upscaling dvd player looks just as good as them, and costs less.

I like Nintendo's philosophy, get as many units out their as possible. I am thinking about buying one after the holiday rush.
