Darren Kitchen Posted December 23, 2006 Posted December 23, 2006 Steps to hacking teh gibson, courtesy of Hak5: 0. Go to "alternative lifestyle" club in search of homoerotic facepainted hackers 1. Post a message on all hacker related forums (including Hak5) requesting that the Hackers of the world unite 2. Break into DOT computers and reroute traffic light control systems through friendster. 3. Send text messages to random people saying "Hack the planet!" 4. Replace the crystal in your Radio Shack Tone Dialer with one at 6.5536mhz 5. Wear lepord print and pretend to bluebox 6. Tripple the ram in your P6, because RISC will change everything 7. Attach acoustic couplers to a bank of phone booths 8. Get your gaffer to rotate said phone booth as you attach early 90's electronic head gear 9. Make references to the founder of 2600, the Mentor, and dead poets 10. Get into the kernel and call the sysop a dickweed If all goes according to plan teh gibson should look something like this: Thank you for playing Quote

Guest ABC Posted December 24, 2006 Posted December 24, 2006 ... there no such thing as a gibson! no shit sherlock .. its just a term used by hackers. anyway I'm bored I'm off to hack the gibson Quote
sneaky_rupert Posted December 24, 2006 Posted December 24, 2006 It's arguably not even code. It's script. ;) Well, it is interpreted code, not compiled, but code nonetheless. Your just trading off where the compile time resides. A script, on the other hand, uses a collection of system commands to do it's job. Interpreted code only uses shell commands if you explicitely tell it to do so. Quote
Sparda Posted December 24, 2006 Posted December 24, 2006 Perl programs are often called Perl scripts, and Perl is similar to PHP... but this is a highly fruitless argument lol. We all know the difference between an interpreted language and a compiled language, weather you call interoperated syntax script or code is up to you :P Quote
sneaky_rupert Posted December 24, 2006 Posted December 24, 2006 Perl programs are often called Perl scripts, and Perl is similar to PHP... but this is a highly fruitless argument lol. We all know the difference between an interpreted language and a compiled language, weather you call interoperated syntax script or code is up to you :P It's no big deal, I just think it is funny that some people have definitions of "real languages" when they are so close to interpreted languages, and vice versa, the only difference being the compiler sometimes :-) Depending on my situation, usually what my boss wants, it will be in Perl, PHP, C (or derivatives) or Java, or anything else he thinks I can do by hitting his easy button :-D, . If you know one, you can know the basics of the others in hours, assuming you know the proper theory of course. So, did they ban this kid? Quote
