  1. @gcninja: Kanon 2006 <33 Anyways, just totally redid all of the configs on my laptop and I really like how it came out. Clean: Busy:
  2. I am very scared about this, but it could work out really well.

    Reformatted my lappy.... Clean: Dirty:
  4. I lol'd. If your car has a tape player you can get a cheapass aux->tape converter for like $10 that works great for any mp3 player.
  5. Also in the Arch boot... pretty sure it's just in the linux kernel unless the distribution maintainers remove it.
  6. HiJackThis. The only tool I ever need.
  7. CPUs don't just die usually, and if they do it's because the motherboard malfunctioned... which means if you put another CPU in there it's just gonna do it again. In my opinion though, it's just the motherboard malfunctioning and giving off bad error codes. If you or any of your friends has a space AM2 mobo lying around you can use that as a testing bed for what hardware works and what doesn't.

It defeats the whole purpose of the torrenting... I lurve to share too much to use a service like that.
  9. In the US and UK, yes... and I'm assuming he's from one of those countries.
  10. That entire article pissed me off. Apple is not responsible for the expanse of linux, dedicated linux users are. And I'm sick of how people use Ubuntu as the standard for linux, linux (in my opinion) is not supposed to be built around people who don't know anything about computers, which is what this article assumes when he said that he couldn't get flash to install because of his own incompetence. The last line of course just puts the icing on his cake of ignorance; the linux community is building itself and although Apple's advertising may be bringing some people away from Windows, I don't think that the people who didn't previously know about linux are all of a sudden going to become linux users because it's just not right for them.
  11. No, we do not have the right. I absolutely hate how recently we've been trying to force democracy on other countries... that's just about the most undemocratic thing we could do. If the people there really want it for themselves then they will revolt, they will take action, they will stand up for themselves. And their 'hacking' with a DDoS attack, that's ridiculous. DDoS is not hacking and it annoys me so much when people says it is... sorry that was a little side tangent not really related to the topic.
  12. That's a pretty awesome hack... it's always interesting to read about high-profile stuff like this.

Only change is the new WP on my lappy xD Don't use my desktop nearly as much as I used to. Lappy [1280x800 :: Arch Linux {OpenBox, Conky, PyPanel} ] Desktop [1440x900 :: WinXP Pro SP3 {Hidden Icons, Rainmeter, Konata Desk Character Thingey} ]
  15. *glances at mem usage... 97mb* Hmm... it's got me beat by a mb... but I don't think you had firefox, conky, and urxvt open when you took that test ;p And personally I hate gnome-panel. Just me though. PyPanel ftw. Still might have to try this distro out in a VM though.
  16. The load time is fine for me... but damn it's ugly. It looks okay until you see those hideous light gray highlights and near-neon green on that very dark background.
  17. I got one of those from "Sandra Smith" with a different story. Was actually really suprised it got past GMail's spam filters since not much does. The from address is obviously spoofed, there's no point in wasting your time trying to get scammers / spammers back as it won't get you anywhere.
  18. I read the official document from the whitehouse on the matter, and it doesn't mention the government having control over the private sector at all, only that the government and private sector should work together to secure the national cyber infrastructure. Seems okay to me as long as they don't add any clauses that would allow the government to actually control the pirvate sector in any way.
  19. I like the site, it's very well designed, but let's be honest, there's no stopping "hcommerce".
  20. I want to go, but I'm a broke teenager and I doubt I'll have the money in time :x
  21. Put BT3 (or BT4 depending on preference) on a USB and have fun WEP cracking. Windows fails at WEP cracking and all of the other fun wifi things you can do.
