  1. I've watched every episode since season 1 and I still think this show is one of the best tech iptv shows on the entire web. It just seems like Matt has this "cranky" geek attitude to him that gets a bit old sometimes, but he compensates for it with awesome tech segments. If you guys want Wess back, it ain't gonna happen, he's repeatedly said that he has no desire to appear on the show. Unpersons is a great podcast though, so def check that out.
  2. This site has a lot of info. My question is, are we allowed to bring our own booze? And I mean liquor. I wanna bring a big ass bottle of Captain Morgains. http://hak5meetup.squarespace.com/
  3. I love the show, maybe I'm just being a fanboy, and I've only been doing the technolust thing for about 3-4 years now; but a lot of the stuff that Darren, Matt and his guest hosts have shown are new things to me. Unfortunatey, I don't have a lot of time in the world to experiment, so its fun to watch. like, i really wanna get down and dirty with net cat, and do the internet redirection, but i just don't have time anymore. Which sucks. But at the same token, the simple stuff is always nice too. Just don't fill every show with remedial bullshit.
  4. It's slow as hell, the structure is horrible, it looks like they tried too hard on it, the design is horrible and everything takes forever to load. Anybody else agree?
  5. most hacklings on the board enjoy booze, why not create some hak5 shot glasses? i know darren has had some made before, not sure if he's up for the idea though?
  6. i don't even do tech support much anymore. i help close friends and family out, but tech support is really counter productive to my time, espeically when i could be learning more about PHP, Java or something related to my actual career field.
  7. a friend of mine had a dell, where the hard drive was corrupt. so instead of actually fixing it, i just unplugged the power to the motherboard, told him it was irrepairable and forced him to buy a new computer. he gave me the dell, and now i have it setup as a dedicated web server. =D thats probably the most douch-iest thing ive ever done.
  8. a good way to practice your coding skills is to build a mashup of something, anything really. build a blog, a website, a project that will motivate you to try new things, learn your shit and eventually become good at it. read a lot of tutorials, study manuals, read books, experiment, and don't give up.
