  1. Looks like we should be seeing a drop in Core 2 chips here shortly. I still want the i7 though. I wonder how that thing will overclock?
  2. Damn n00bs... j/k 3 letter abbreviation for Illinois.

Usually there is a WD 250gb drive, but it's one of the bigger ones, and got to be a pain, so I ordered a new 2.5" one.
  4. Yeah, it was a pretty crushing victory. I was expecting it to be a lot closer, but I woke up this morning, and boy, there was NO doubt who won!
  5. Yeah, I know. I should get a haircut and get a real job! Wonder who's gonna keep the network running for Mr. 250k to make money though... Oh well, not my problem.
  6. It's funny. On a site full of IT guys, Obama is hailing supreme(my choice as well, btw). However, on my car club's site, they are tearing him apart, and are so McCain happy it isn't even funny. A good majority of those people are pushing $250k or more, and are all pissy because they may have to pay a slightly higher tax rate. They have gorgeous houses, multiple cars, and luxuries beyond belief, and they act like and extra 1-2K a year in taxes is going to kill them. Now, on the flip side, when Bush first took presidency, I was making $56k/yr and had all sorts of toys, a nice house, and not a care in the world. Now, I make about the same money, but everything costs twice as much, and my health care coverage has gotten so bad it took out another huge chunk. I have minimal monthly expenses, but still have to work to streth my dollar. I have no car payment, no credit card bills, nothing. But I do have a wife and 2 kids now. The $56k I made in 2000 would have been penty for a family then, now it is bare minimum to get by. And they expected me to vote for McCain and subject myself to at least 4 more years of that. F#$% them and F#$% McCain. Obama FTW!!
  7. I L L only I didn't capitalize the 2 L's.
  8. Welcome, what part of Ill are you from?
  9. I'll DL it tonight when I get home and check it out.
  10. I'm not arguing, I'm just letting facts be known, since the people on this forum are friends. End of argument.
  11. I caught on to PB through the show a while back, and LOVE his music! I'll have to look up Dual Core.
  12. That's essentially what we wound up doing. We threw a batch file out on the general file share, and directed people there via mass email.
  13. Yeah, it's not hard to figure out since I'm on the midwestlanparty boards with the same name. Just a fair warning guys, be careful in your dealings with HOB. I'm not specifically saying don't go, just watch what you do. I'm not going into a crapload of detail here, but if you want details, check out all the numerous threads on www.midwestlanparty.com Look up anything by his same username, or referencing HOBNW.
  14. We have a bunch of machines to image and send to remote users, and the guy doing it wants some way to load a default profile for each user during log on. Right now they all have to be configured manually. The Office install we use is loaded right on our corporate image. I've tried using the custom maintenance wizard to no avail, and even tried a batch file. All it needs to do is configure the proper Exchange server, and load their windows userid from Windows logon, so it configures and they can open it up without headaches. Anyone know a good way to do this? Thank for any help with this.

    defacing is lame

I hate these guys. Seriously, they piss me off to no ends extent. I'm part of a car club, and when we first started, the web admin was learning as he went. The front page got defaced like 5 times the first year! Honestly, what part of hacking a cheesehead carclub site is cool? Although, if we were to ever catch them, we'd probably beat them with a 1/2' drive torque wrench!
  16. Only if you don't start the same drama here you did on MWLP.
  17. I followed Schumacher for a while, but after I saw Hamilton drive, just WOW! That kid will be one of F1's legends if he keeps it up.
  18. Most of the time I drive our minivan. It's a '95 Mercury Villager. Bought it almost 4 years ago with 85k on it, and it now has near 190k on it. This is the most reliable thing we have ever owned! All that driving, and almost nothing in repairs. Other than maintenance(brakes, belts, tires, blah blah), we've put in a fuel pump($90) and had the front coil springs replaced($250). That's it. Otherwise, I'm in the process of building another toy for myself. I'm an avid Mustang guy, but this was a great deal, and so much more fun! Anyone into American cars at all, Fords especially, will know what this is. '91 Lincoln Mark VII LSC SE That pic is the day I got it, back in June. A lot has been done since, but I need to get recent pics. It kind of got shelved until winter due to our move to another town, but I'm back to woring on it again. It runs and drives, just sorting out some little things before the rest of the power upgrades(current dyno, 304rwhp). It'll be on the Hot Rod Power Tour next year in June.
  19. I've added a bunch, but I have such limited game time, and I've been focusing on the 360 games I want to complete(Infinite Undiscovery ftw!).
  20. Disc-based Super Smash Brothers Brawl Mario Galaxy Mario Kart Wii Wii Sports for the family Virtual Console Megman 9!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Super Street Fighter II I need to quit neglecting my Wii. My family plays it a lot, but I hardly touch it. I've been working on some of the 360 titles, and with Fallout 3 coming, the Wii may be neglected even more.

    Free-Ventrilo

On PC, some games have "perks" to let you hear other teams chat(IE: COD4). It doesn't work if they use Vent/TS. Vent and TS also allow for continuous comms, even while a game loads or changes maps.
  22. I will tell you from experience that this is a very bad idea if you want to make a living. I was an ASE certified mechanic, and got toyota, Ford, and VW certified before I even got out of High School. I worked in the industry, not only as a repair technician, but in much higher-level jobs doing performance and engineering. I even worked for the race dept at a very well-known aftermarket parts supplier. I will tell you now, there is NO money in mechanics. Out of the 40-50k you may make in a year, expect to put about 15k or more back into your tools. Now, keep in mind, you will need a large investment in tools just to get you started. Cheap Craftsmen stuff won't work either. There is a reason pro's use high-price tools. They break less, and if they break, you are without that tool. I mean, by all means, if it makes you feel good, do it. But it is murder on your back, and most mechanics make less money after 10-20 years than an IT guy does starting out.
  23. Honestly, Alice Cooper is a very intelligent individual, who spent a lot of time studying politics and world policy. The guy is, by all definitions, a genious.
  24. I love going barefoot. Well, until the cold months hit. usually, I get home, kick off the shoes, and away I go. I'll throw on some good sandals if I need to head to the store or something.
  25. I got conned into Myspace by a friend who was always sending vid links from there. So, since I had to register, I figured I would use it. It can be a good way to kill time when you are stuck at your desk with nothing to do. That, and it's a good way to keep up with the friends I have spread around the world.
